OK, had the pizza for the first time this evening. myself and my coworkers ordered the five dollar pizzas, 1 pepperoni, 1 sausage. Took em back to the ole office and busted em out! First off those who say the sauce has no flavor must have burned off their tatse buds in a horrible industrial accident or something, or perhaps they just work for a competitor as I suspect. I don't much like red sauce, but this sauce was DEFRIGGINGLICIOUS!!! It had just the right acidity, a slight spicy kick, and a bright fresh tomato flavor!! The cheese is used sparingly, but it is real pizza cheese, or at least tastes like it is and to be honest there is just the right amount of it on the pie. The pepperoni was spicy, and greasy as all hell, just like good pepperoni should be!! I wasn't overly impressed with the sausage it was your standard crumbled pre made sausage and not overly impressive, but not horrible either. Both pies were cooked perfectly, served hot and fresh, and were a steal at $5.00 for a 14 inch pie. Folks this isn't fancy gourmet pizza, it's basic simple old school pizzeria style pizza, plain and simple. The prices are great and the pizza is solid and tasty!! Oh Yeah and I have yet to have a FROZEN PIZZA that even comes close to the flavor of this pizza. And for everyone's ettification, the DOUGH and SAUCE are made FRESH DAILY!! So very excited to see a pizza shop that is not a chain (or Bianchis) pop up on the Westside of town! And especially when it's in an area that will boom very soon with all the action happening there. Place is tiny, essentially a counter and a handful of tiny tables. This is more of a takeout kind of place. Owner used to be a sous chef at Le Rendezvous so he knows what flavors go great on a pizza. He's also not afraid to try new things as well (pinto beans and chorizo on the special La Mexicana??). Pizza comes in two sizes, 14 and 18 inches. We ordered the namesake pizza, Los Olivos (green olives, artichokes, fresh tomato and basil then we added ricotta) and a plain sausage pizza. Crust is more of a hand stretched not thick but not super thin thickness. Came out nicely crispy on edges and not at all soggy. I wish the sauce had a little more spice but he offers real grated Parmesan, oregano and red pepper flakes to accompany. I'm generally not a pizza fan but this was pretty tasty for the convenience of the location and especially the price. The 2 pizzas and 2 canned sodas was under $20! A 14 inch single item (only can choose from cheese, pepperoni or sausage) was on special for $5. There are pasta entrees, sandwiches and salads offered as well and from the looks of other Yelp reviews they sound pretty tasty. All in all, not the best pizza you'll ever have but definitely a great, little local place to check out that's a great value. read more

Superb! The building looks sketchy... But this place is super good and great price. Some of the best pizza I've had and it ranks up there with great NY/NJ pizza. A bit strange that the 18" was cut into squares... I suspect that the idea is that the slices would be too big to manage but I disagree. If you like triangular slices, order the 14" or request the cut. If you are looking for pizza, don't pass this place up! I have 6 other people with me who agree. read more

Cool lil' hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant. I have been here 4 times and the food was delicious every time. I have tried 3 items. Pizza: Delicious. The dough was perfect and flavorful. Cheese, sauce and toppings were very good. Chicken Parmesan: Almost perfect. I just wish the chicken was fried a little less. Lasagna: Excellent! This is why I come back. This guy knows how to make a lasagna. This is pretty much a one man operation and I hope that he makes it. I understand that he previously worked as a cook in one of Tucson's favorite Italian eateries, so this guy knows something. read more

Los Olivos has found a great way to put together delicious pizza, authentic or not. The La Mexicana is a brilliant combination, bulging with chorizo, bacon, jalapenos and a sprinkle of beans. It is definitely on the heavy/greesie side, but that's kind of a given. And something I'm ok with once in a while. The Los Olivos and the grilled chicken ricotta and wings are great too! The service is friendly. The prices are pretty fair. The dining area is pretty small, so it's more of a pick up restaurant. The patio is nice if you want to eat your meal there. read more

4 stars for the food, an extra star for value. I got a 18" Los Olivos pizza, which was perfectly cooked with a great crust. It was delicious and could have fed a family of four pretty easily. At $9.25 for a well-made gourmet pizza with olives, artichokes, etc., it's probably the best value for pizza in Tucson. They also have $5 pizzas. Not a place to come for a romantic Italian dinner, though; there are places to sit (including on the porch) but there is no ambiance. read more

First time trying this place tonight! I live in Barrio Hollywood and have wanted to try it for a while. Let me tell you I was NOT disappointed! The pizza was a tad greasy but SO GOOD! The pepperoni had such flavor and the cheese was yum. The salads were also good. They served a beet salad that rivals any 5 star restaurant in town. And the wings! Oh the wings! Delicioso! This pizza should be named Arizona's Pizza! The sauce is super fresh a little spicy, the ingredients are placed generously and with care! Growing up on the west side, and now living downtown, I am so pleased that this place a) exists, and b) is good enough to come back to! We ordered a large pizza and two salads to go on a chilly night. The large pizza was super big, but cut into squares which made it easy to eat a lot of. Not a bad thing, considering it was really delicious. The crust isn't what I'd call thin - it has great texture and seems freshly made. The salads (los olivos salad and the antipasto) were fresh and had pretty decent toppings for how inexpensive they were. I ordered and got there 10 minutes later, the food was ready for me to pick up. The one star off is because the pizza was a bit cold, but that may have had to do with it being cold outside. All in all, delicious food right in the neighborhood. I can't wait to try everything else. Go and support your local west side business! read more

Went in recently. Stood at counter while cook and cashier walk by perhaps. a half dozen times without acknowledging my presence or evening saying he would be helping shortly. I walked out after 10 minutes. The place is filthy and I was told by friends later the quality of the food has gone done. Will not be returning to this " pizza dive". read more

I live around the corner from Los Olivos. But let me give some qualifiers to my review. First off I have recently had a taste change in my diet, beyond converting to vegetarian in the last two years, I have discovered I no longer like pizza. Who doesn't like pizza!!! Crazy! But unfortunately true. Okay. So keeping that in mind. Olivos is an okay pizza at a good price. It's what I would coin homemade pizza in that the toppings remind of toppings I would have in my frig on any given day: Sliced sandwich ham. Of course I ordered half meat half veggie. Dinning experience isn't good. Very, very basic. A few small tables. Food was decent. Lasagna tasted fresh and unique but nothing ground breaking. Pizza was burnt which was annoying because the guy running the place seemed to be the owner/manager/cook so he should know when to pull the pizza out if the oven. Oh yes, this is the spot for fantastic authentic pizzas! This place may be small but it is mighty.....mighty awesome! We had 7 of their pizza options (on 26 pizzas) at our party and even though we had other options the Los Olivos pizzas were all that was eaten! The veggies on the Vegetaria pizza are roasted in house daily- and it's not just your normal onion-tomato-mushroom-pepper business; there are artichoke hearts and eggplant and so many other wonderful flavor and textures. For all the fresh ingredients the cost is completely reasonable (downright inexpensive!) - $8.95 for a 14" pizza loaded with yummy toppings. The crust is thinner- in a more traditional Italian style, but even my guests that will always order a deep dish pizza thoroughly enjoyed this crust. The red sauce was tangy and satisfying to where the toppings weren't a necessity. The Charcuterie is what most places call a meat lovers and I was lovin' me some meat! I love what the Capicola adds that is so much more than just your usual ham-bacon-sausage. The dining room is small (3 tables) so this is really a take out spot, which is fine by us. read more

Great little locally owned pizza and pasta house just west of Downtown. This is a funky neighborhood joint serving good Italian fare at very reasonable prices. Nothing fancy so don't go dressed up. We had the Spaghetti and Meatballs, and the Cioppino. The only negatives were a bit too much salt in the sauce and too much garlic on the garlic bread. We will go back and try the pizza next time as it is only a block from our house. read more
