Came here for happy hour and dinner with a friend, and we were seated right away. It's a total hidden gem right behind Putney's, and honestly might be my new go-to happy hour spot! The restaurant has a beautiful interior and offers outdoor seating, but since it's the middle of summer in Tucson, sitting inside was a must! We arrived just in time for happy hour. Most of the appetizers on the regular menu were marked down to $9.75, and the happy hour drinks were the same price. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, steamed mussels, a dirty martini, and a grapefruit cosmo. Everything was delicious, but the mussels were our absolute favorite. The broth they came with was delightful, and we used the complimentary bread to soak up every last drop! Even though the appetizers filled us up, we still ordered dinner. I got the Pesto Penne Pasta and my friend got the Chicken Marsala. My pasta was incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of chicken in every bite. My friend really enjoyed the Marsala too. The portions were great, and we both had enough leftovers for another meal. I definitely plan on coming back when it's cooler to enjoy the patio, which sits nicely between the restaurant and the boutique across the way. I was really looking forward to dining at Giuseppe's on Oracle Rd. Great reviews, loved the photos I saw online, good happy hour, and gluten-free options. I even called ahead of time and spoke with someone about the gluten-free options (David, who turned out to be our server) and he was very helpful and pleasant on the phone. But the dining experience was sorely disappointing and I'm not sure whether we would return or not based on that experience. David's service was attentive and pleasant, the wine was really good, and my pork carbonara dish was pretty good - the pork chop itself was delicious and perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked; the pasta was creamy and pretty good, but just lacking a bit in flavor (cheese?). I'm not a fan of cherry tomatoes in carbonara but no big deal, still overall, it was a very good dish. But here is where it went wrong. My wife ordered the grilled pork, which according to the menu is slices of pork topped with spinach and mozzarella served over linguine with red sauce. She asked if they could switch the red sauce out for another (non-red) sauce. David suggested either Alfredo or a white wine sauce, and my wife asked for the white wine sauce. And gluten-free pasta.Since I had called earlier to ask about gluten-free or gluten-sensitive options, and they said they have GF pasta and GF pizza crust, David let the kitchen know to start the pasta water (which is a nice accommodation) as soon as we arrived - although my wife wasn't sure yet, having not looked at the menu, whether she really did intend to have a dish accompanied by pasta. But that's fine if they want to start it early. We sat there for a good 25-30 minutes after ordering, wondering what was going on with the food, since we were one of only two tables at the time. We tracked David down and he apologetically told us there had been some kind of issue with the chef "getting the dishes switched around" (??) and that they had to start the order over again, and that he appreciated our patience. After a while, the entrees arrived. My pork carbonara looked good. My wife's pork dish, even after waiting that long and having them re-do the entrees, had a few issues - 1) it was served with pasta with red sauce, not the white wine sauce she'd asked for; 2) uncertainty over whether the pasta is indeed gluten-free because it's possible that they have GF spaghetti, but in our experience, it's very unusual for a restaurant to offer GF spaghetti. Usually it's penne or a similar shape. But David did double check and said it really is GF spaghetti. I was suspect myself when I tasted the dish, because GF pasta has a tendency to fall apart or dry out and I couldn't really tell that this was GF pasta. So maybe it was just really good GF pasta; and 3) the pork wasn't sliced, it was whole. And possibly breaded. When we noted the dish was supposed to be white wine sauce over GF pasta, David again apologized and said the chef was "flustered" (his word, not mine). Not sure how a whole 2 tables flusters a chef, but okay. At this point, after all this time, and my dish being served correctly and hot, we were not about to send the dish back AGAIN while I sit there eating mine while it's still hot. We had originally thought, when first seated, that we might order dessert or at least the good looking after dinner drinks. But we just wanted to get the heck out of there as fast as we could. And to their / David's credit, they did comp the pork dish, which is nice. Not sure we'd return. read more

We were greeted and seated promptly by our server. She welcomed us warmly and gave us a brief run down of the menu. The food was out of this world good! The portions are large so come with an appetite. The restaurant itself isn't pretentious. It's comfortable and the noise level was low enough that we could enjoy a conversation with our friends. The dining room is clean, tidy and welcoming. We've found a great place to bring friends and family to. A big shout out to Cassandra who made sure our meal was a pleasant one. Had an amazing lunch with girlfriends at Giuseppe's today! We went when the restaurant first opened so we were the only people in the place. The restaurant is pristine and we were promptly greeted by our amazing server. She gave great recommendations and you could tell that she really takes pride in all of the deliciousness coming from the kitchen. We order antipasti and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. The were full of flavor along with the bread for the table. The antipasti board was stacked full of delicious meats and cheeses. Then we ordered tomato basil soup, cannelloni, shrimp picatta, chicken marsala, osso bucco, and sausage rigatoni pasta. Everyone raved about the food, each entree was beautifully presented and came out piping hot! Ah how could I forget the drinks. One of us ordered the limoncello lemon drop, and I ordered the comfortable Italian. Both drinks were nicely balanced, the flavor it was so pleasing to the palate, and very easy to drink. After spending 12 years in Arizona all of it in the Northwest Tucson area cannot believe that I've never happened upon this place until yesterday. I have driven past Giuseppe's hundreds of times in the past ten years. I had never even thought to stop by, until this week. The reason is because I noticed a Groupon that provided a nice savings. We stopped by on a Monday evening for dinner. The service was excellent and I enjoyed the relaxed and comfortable ambiance. The complimentary bread was tasty too. We both ordered drinks from the Happy Hour menu (I had the Lemoncello martini, which was delicious). I had reviewed photos on Yelp and already knew what I was going to order. I had the Chicken Madeira and my Manfolk had the Grilled Salmon on veggies. Both entrees arrived in a timely manner and were warm and delicious. The portions were large. We will definitely be back. This place has gone down way down. We were a group and one of us were served food in a very chipped plate needing to be thrown out. I ordered a salad that was almost entirely green leaves the items listed on the menu were missing or barely and a few crumbs of walnuts for over $15. I refused it. The prices are high for the food S15 +. The pizza was tasty and plenty and the mussels good. The manager never came to our table to see the chipped plate and salad. Really nice spot. Back area of an old school strip center. We sat outside. First off, they customize sny dish which is wonderful for folks that have a variety of food intolerance or allergies. I went with the Shrimp Picatta. I never had a Picatta with Shrimp. They removed the garlic from the sauce. Big portions. The menu says it sits on a bed of linguine, but mine showed up with spaghetti type of pasta. The dish had Chili flakes which worked. The spouse went with the Pesto Salad. She didnt care for it. She felt it had too much pesto sauce or pesto whatever. Pricing isnt bad, service is fast and friendly. No need to return though. read more

We went with a large family group with mixed ages and food preferences. The appetizers were excellent but especially the mussels and the meatballs. The eggplant sandwich was served with a Cesar salad and many people were raving about the various pasta dishes. Let me start off by saying that when we left the restaurant, my four-year-old daughter asked that we never come back here. So the server was very nice and the ambience was great so the restaurant has that going for them. However, the food is one of the worst we've had in Tucson. The minute I got my dish I knew something was off because the cheese looked like melted plastic, the edges of the pasta were overcooked, so I didn't even eat a majority of the pasta, and my meatballs were bitter. My daughter's spaghetti and meatball plate was completely overcooked. She barely touched it. My husband's garlic chicken plate had chunks of garlic on it and was smothered in garlic sauce. He couldn't really eat the chicken because it felt like he was just biting into garlic. The food is just so bad that I don't see myself ever returning here. read more

I actually got delivery, something I hadn't done in at least a year, and now I remember why. For almost $50 I got dry noodles, brushed with flavorless sauce, and a few slices of dry paper thin chicken that barely covered the bottom of the container (I thought it was empty before I opened it). Along with chicken alfredo I also ordered limoncello cake. I am unable to evaluate it since I never got it......again for over $46. You have to raise prices, fine. You have to cut portion sizes, fine. The least you can do is to make sure your food is flawless, and orders complete. read more

I've known about this place for years. I got a gift card where we could eat here, so finally gave it a try. We ordered the antipasto plate, which was pretty fantastic! It was FULL of asparagus, olives, meats, cheeses, peppers, grilled onions - just WOW! Our sandwiches on the others were very MEH - just plain eggplant and sausage sandwich's - not a lot of flavor, and ok bread. This was a nice place though, and there is a nice outside seating area. I'm not sure I think possibly manicotti but it might have been different tube filled pasta name that I cannot recall. Canelloni? Yes I think it was chicken cannelloni. 4 of us dined and we all very much enjoyed our dinners. Generous portions especially on the first 3 listed meals. Three of us had a lot of leftovers to take home. I requested extra mushrooms in my chicken Marsala and they didn't disappoint! I had a lot of mushrooms. The Marsala flavor was slightly lacking but there was plenty of sauce and chicken was tender so I couldn't complain. I ate one of three pieces of chicken & some of the pasta, took the rest home. Our server accidentally put in the wrong wine selection which we questioned before she opened it. She went back to the bar to question them & came back with the same bottle. So we said ok I guess that's what they are giving us for the happy hour cab... it was a Sangiovese. When the check came they had charged us for the Sangiovese, not the happy hour cab bottle price. She was able to correct the price and apologized because she entered the wrong selection when inputting our order. Having said that, the Sangiovese was very good, we all agreed. I must say I wanted to love this place. Good food in Tucson is getting harder and harder to find. Unfortunately it was not good. We ordered to chicken dishes. Both had an ok flavor but both were so THICK I'm certain the Elmer's glue must have been used. We sent one dish back because it was too salty but honestly the biggest issue was the gooey thickness. Fire the chef and hide the can of glue. You'll be doing everyone a favor. The only thing that was good was the salad. Bad wine, bad food, and bad coffee. The waiter was nice. Popped in here for lunch one day with some friends Didn't seem very busy at all. They are located in a shopping center. We ordered off the lunch menu (on the back of the regular menu) & had the penne with sausage & the cannelloni with a chicken filling, kind of like having a chicken pot pie wrapped in pasta. The service and ambiance have a classic old school feel to it. Every server is your server and the food was fabulous. I had Chicken Parmesan over a large plate of linguini. The portion was huge and the price was just $23. Fast food costs that much these days. The fresh bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar were a nice touch. We were in mood for Italian food over the weekend and decided to visit this cute restaurant. We waited 20 mins to get seated for 3 of us. Another 10 mins for the server to come and get the otders. No water was brought until another 15 mins. We were told approximately 20 mins- ish for the food due to the load of the customers. That's fine. Well, appetizer came after 30 mins wait, and no silverware. We were just sitting patiently and the server came by 3 times and still no silverware. She kept blaming that the other girl should have brought them to us. Finally our food came after 50 mins waiting time. And they made our food wrong!!!!!! Seriously!!!!! We were too hungry to have our food to remake. At the end, the server came to offer desert, we ordered 1 and ask to make it to go. Guess what, they charged us everything from the wrong food to dersert that we thought she offered due to the mistake from our orders. We were too tired and cold since we sat outside but could have talked to the manager about the situation. We just left disappointed and will never come back or recommend to anyone. read more
