Really disappointed, sadly. I ordered the cheese quesadilla for $16.50 which was supposed to come with tomato and onion and guacamole and sour cream. But it had none of that. Everything was amazing, even the chips and salsa! We were treated to a small freshly made corn tortilla w melted cheese inside w a small side of hot. salsa. That was delicious and something I'd order another time if it's offered. Everyone was very friendly, the restaurant is clean and relaxing. I've eaten here before and been very pleased but tonight the food was A++. We ordered the above items as sides and the bill for both of us with the flan (all of that food!) was under $30. The restaurant itself was very clean with a beautiful decor. We had our menus and water dropped off right away. The problem was that they were very short staffed. Once we got our menus, it took about 15 minutes for our waiter to come over and take our order. The food was okay, but we both ended up with a belly ache later in the evening. Once we finished up, it took another 10 plus minutes to have the waiter come and pick up our credit card. We went with a group of friends last weekend. My friend insisted we come here because she loves their queso and vegetable fajitas. I ordered carne asada and the hubby ordered the fried fish. Street Tacos come with rice and beans. My first time trying this place was through Uber. Overall happy with the way it was packaged and portioned. I tried the Bbq Pastor, very nice flavor. Unlike other yelpers, we had a WONDERFUL experience. Good food and service are important to us too and we thought everything was top notch! The chips and salsa/pico de gallo were craveable...it was devoured in no time. Thankfully, they offered refills. The menudo was filled with goodies and came with a good helping of lime, onions, cilantro, and corn tortillas. The two crisp beef taco really hit the spot stuffed with a good helping of ground beef, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese. Just wanted some classic tacos and it was perfect! For $2.45 each, that's a steal! My hubby really enjoyed his shrimp fajitas. Sizzling goodness and a good helping of sides! It was cooked perfectly not too greasy and it had amazing grilled flavor. I will for sure get that next time. It's $23.95. I like they had the large bottle size Mexican cokes. It was a family friendly quiet setting which we really enjoyed. Delicious food! Arrived for lunch on a Friday and wasn't too busy. They offer pico and salsa with chips and there's no extra charge for more, unlike most restaurants in the area. Ordered off the lunch menu which is extensive and reasonably priced. The pollo a la crema was cooked perfectly. Best tortillas in the area by far. They were light and fluffy and delicious. The only time she was quick to our table was when we were done eating and with the check! I was more then pissed at the lack of service! The service was not the only thing that was bad. The food was not good, steak was burned, chicken beast was not cooked all the way it had a rubber texture and the asada was too salty. Looks like a chain, might actually be a chain, but doesn't necessarily suffer from the worst qualities of such a fate. It's a brightly lit place, with lots of fake plants and corny hand-painted ceramics everywhere. OK, that part feels pretty chain-like. The booths don't all look like the carpenter is quite finished yet. But it's clean and comfortable. The food is the usual modestly ambitious americanized mexican stuff. Brown rice, long-stewing refried, plenty of white and yellow cheese. Lots of peppers and white onions. But the ingredients were flavorable and seemed reasonably fresh. The house salsa was OK. No points here for anything scratch made (at all), and no points for adventurousness from the kitchen. But they give you dependable food at a reasonable value, and, given the setting, that's a good business model. Three stars for succeeding within those parameters. read more

I've read a couple of the "not so good" reviews on this place and some people are too perplexing... First off, if you order any of the standard americana style dishes, like taco salad, you don't know what real mexican food should be...On the other hand, most mexican joints in the states (99.9% of them) are ameican mexican food. But what makes this place special are their more authentic efforts on their menu... For example, carne asda y camarones(steak and shrimp basically).... My favorite! The best and most authenticly cooked Carne asada around! I'm from San Diego and understand real mex food... The food here is good across the board! But then again, im not sure what a taco salad is supposed to taste like so, in all fairness to that reviewer, i've never had one in Mexico... Ordered dinner from this place the other night when previous dinner plans fell through. They had a decent sized menu and multiple vegetarian options, I got the spinach enchilada's they were amazing, I would order them again, especially when I have the desire to be a fat kid. The man friend got a chicken burrito. He said it was good Mexican food, nothing special but for a quick take out meal it worked just fine. It took about 100 minutes for our food to be ready and indeed when I got to the restaurant 10 minutes later it was ready. They also had a decent selection of Mexican soda beverages. Food was lacking. Ordered the deluxe tostada salad and was unimpressed. The shredded beef was super spicy and not a lot of it. The menu described alot of food in a great tostada bowl but it came as a flat tortilla with barely any food on it. I ordered a margarita and was surprised by the amount of alcohol which was nice but honestly couldn't drive home and now have brutal heart burn. Couldn't even eat my meal it was so spicy. The resteraunt is in a bad parking lot and I don't see why anyone would eat here when there is a way better, faster service and better food Mexican restaurant on 1st street overlooking the water. read more
