Had Mexican night and we finally decided on this place. Good choice, our waiter was new and a little slow at refills, but the food was good. Hard to really mess up Mexican in my opinion. The chips were fresh and crisp, the salsa was fresh and had a great taste. I had the pollo loco but with steak, chicken, and shrimp. I don't know the name of it because I couldn't find it on the menu but the waiter knew exactly what I was talking about. The cheese dip had great taste and a perfect amount of spice. The atmosphere was ok, a little to laid back for the beach atmosphere. Would have loved to have seen a band playing given the area that we are in. Drinks were ok (once again I had jack and Dr Pepper, the didn't have Coke). Good drink but a little on the lighter side on the liquor. Only got 1 because of this. Overall a good experience that we will definitely go back to. read more

Typical Mexican decor, good service. Food was bad. Ordered lunch special fajitas and my steak in the fajita was inedible. My daughter's chicken was big chunks and lacking. My green pepper was sliced in disk shapes and the onion was so thin it disappeared. Bland. Beans and rice were ok. Left a lot of leftovers on the table. Disappointed, we have been coming down to Panama City Beach for 4 years and always had a great meal usually ate here 3-4 times every year. Service was so-so, guess we had a new waitress, didn't know how to answer our questions. Food was not as good as before, usually most dishes come with lettuce, tomato, etc. I guess not any more, Almost all of our entrees looked exactly the same, yet different items. Beer was flat, no foam at all. Went there on a Friday night, usually very busy, now we know why, very few customers there. Last thing, staff never smiled or acted like they wanted to be there. Why an empty glass a water? This alone represents the horrible service and experience of eating at this establishment. The server had no interest in taking care of customers and seemingly just wanted to be elsewhere. I ordered the taco dip and a beef street taco. The dip arrived within seconds. As you can see in the photo, it was runny, full of undrained and greasy taco meat, with a sprinkle of of pico slopped on top. It was tasteless and mostly not edible. The single street taco actually had promise. Other than being served cold, the flavor and freshness weren't bad. The waiter did his best to not make eye contact and certainly seemed to be concerned about a water shortage because he never offered or attempted to provide me with any refreshments or a refill. I'd pass on this one. The food is ok, not spectacular. We've eaten there several times over the years and seem to think it will get better. It hasn't. The service is always "meh". They get the job done, barely, but don't go over the top. Last time I ordered a tamale and it was ground beef with corn mash thrown on top. We recently moved here and weren't sure if we'd find good Mexican food locally. We were very pleased with everything from the service to food and drink. We tried chili rellenos, chicken taco, chicken burritos and the enchiladas with salsa verde. Excellent service by Alvarado! He was very attentive and helpful with any questions about the menu. Entered with a party of 7 and was promptly seated. There was something on the table from the last patrons which was salsa. After that was cleaned up we got out menus and the waiter got us nachos and salsa. Soon after he took our order Never ate here before so I ordered Steak Fajitas to be safe and everyone else got their own. The food came out nice and hot. The waiter was always in eye distance and periodically checked on us to see if we needed anything. The food was great and my draft Dos Equis came in a large frozen mug. Pretty good service. The negative reviews on yelp deterred us from trying this restaurant sooner. But one afternoon, we decided to try it and see for ourselves. We went there for lunch and were seated right away. Chips and salsa were good. I ordered the top shelf margarita with Don Julio but I wasn't impressed with my drink. It tasted like lemonade to me. I hate when they make it like that and go easy on the tequila! So the tequila was definitely missing in my drink and I could taste the other things more. For my entree, I went with chicken pablamo but I didn't want the cheese sauce because I wasn't sure how it was going to taste. So I got the cheese sauce on the side instead. The food tasted fresh except my chicken could have been more tender and moist. But I really liked the flavoring though. It came with bell peppers, onions and corn along with rice and black beans. It was pretty tasty minus the cheese sauce. We also got the fresh guacamole with our chips which was delicious. It was definitely fresh. The burrito bowl was very good too. Overall, I'd come back to this place. The service was great. I have no complaints and the food arrived pretty quickly. read more

I ordered take out. The young man I spoke with was nice. He clarified that I was calling the correct Rancheros, as there are 2 in the city. He even joked with me. The people in the restaurant were friendly. I ordered a Taco salad with chicken & a side of rice. It came with salsa & chips. I used the salsa on the salad along with some verde sauce. Great food and awesome service. I've ate here a few times over the years and the food is consistently good and now they are offering premium margaritas and they are good as well. The prices are inline with other Mexican restaurants and the restaurant isn't passing extra fees off on customers like most other PCB restaurants.
