great and unique food. Though it takes a while for it to be ready, it's worth the wait.

You can buy tickets online in advance or day of but advance tickets are cheaper. They also sell a craft beer package and a VIP package. Kids under 10 are free but we did not see many children on the day we went You get to sample many different types of hot sauces grom over 30 vendors....some with a very unique flavor profile and various levels of heat. You can purchase bottles that range in price from 5.00 to 15.00 each There are a few food options available but we did not eat or drink at the festival other than water to cool us off a bit..lol They also hold various eating challenges on the Stage of Doom as well they have wrestling..yes.. wrestling! If you love hot sauce...you definitely want to attend this fest!

We went to the Hot Sauce Festival a second time, two years after going the last time. The festival…read morehas grown quite a lot - compared to 2023, there were more hot sauce vendors, food trucks, even carnival games. This year it was in the mall parking lot. Last time I went it was in downtown Joliet. We were more interested in the hot sauce than the other activities. (Like wrestling matches). Vendors were there was all over the country, not just the area around Chicago. We sampled dozens of hot sauces and walked away with about 20 bottles - it's going to take a long time to get through all of those. And, what a variety there was - from mild to very hot, traditional hot sauces, and flavored ones, hot jams, hot honey, barbeque spices, and much more. We truly enjoyed ourselves and thank Yelp for the tickets.

I've ordered from Meal Village a couple times and had great experiences including ordering online…read morewhich was very easy. Both times the food arrived EXACTLY at 4pm and was top quality with good portions for most. My dad recently needs to be on a lower sodium diet so it's nice to provide 1-2 meals per week for him with no commitment- he usually eats only half of the portion per meal and can easily know the sodium content. My wife and I have tried a few of the meals and been happy with everything - sometimes calories and fat/sodium can be a bit higher than my wife prefers for a single meal but you have all the info before ordering. There's always a salmon option, and a recent "Retro Fried Chicken Bowl" was great if slightly unhealthier than ideal but had a nice portion of well cooked chicken and included a fantastic smothered sauce plus the side of applesauce was chunky, flavorful, and just as good as we would make at home. If you don't make your own applesauce this will show you why you should do it. Nothing but positive so far, and prices generally seem consistent with the "ready to cook" options in the market but you have much less packaging waste and don't need to spend a bunch of time cooking and cleaning up which can be nice during the week. Most dishes are 2-3 minutes heating up in the microwave and end up great. Don't get me wrong, we love to cook but I prefer to use my own recipes and for my dad with limited mobility a quick, healthier microwave meal or a "soft food" option is important. And for my wife and me, this is a nice supplement to our weeknight meals. Bravo to a great local business worth supporting!
