Having just cycled some 80miles/128kms on my eBikeKit-assisted CruzBike, I was not really physically able to go far for an evening meal. How convenient that a very unassuming/low-key eatery (Ranchway) was just across Valley Drive! I was a bit uncertain; the parking lot had perhaps one or two (motor)vehicles, not a sign of great eats, confirmed upon my entry--most of the tables & dining areas were empty. The menu seemed equally lackluster, but adequate enough to order a steak Tampico (to go--I was steadily getting more exhausted). I rested my eyes fir a moment when another patron asked if he could sit at the 3-chair table where I was sitting. I looked around and was shocked to see how full this small restaurant had become--the line placing orders at the window was nearly out the door! Many of the tables/chairs were likewise full of customers, also awaiting there orders. Some clients in the know had already called in their orders, and waited very little. Of course, my order might take longer because I preferred my steak to be "well done" The other man sharing my wait-table commented that the line seemed small--this place has been here for years, decades, and some of the very best Mexican food North if the border came out it's kitchen! In time, my order was ready and I Gimpwalked back across this important road to a fantastic Family Dollar for additional snacks/chocolate milk, then to my room, where the chargers were continuing to refill batteries from the outlets. Finally ready to rest my weary body, I opened the big bag of freshly cooked food. Now, often, my exhaustion can make ANY food edible & delicious, including "roadkill" I've found biketouring, but in this case, the warm scent made my mouth fill with saliva in anticipation.
