Been here 3 times and the food is good and the homemade tortillas are excellent. Our first visit they charged us for an extra beer we didn't order/get. I pointed it out to the owner wearing a white chef's coat and he gave me a cash register receipt showing they comp'd most of our meal ($33). I told him that was too generous and gave him $20 and told him to put it in the tip pool. 4 days later I saw no credit applied to my card. I went back in and spoke to the gentleman who explained that credits take a while to post. Didn't make sense at the time, but the credit never appeared. So I didn't get the credit promised, paid for an extra beer we didn't get, and tipped them twice including the $20 for being so generous. I don't think anything intentional happened, but at the point I come back in to advise the credit didn't arrive, its just unprofessional to simply put me off. read more

Stopped here in a whim when going to the Vons in the same plaza. What a wonderful surprise to find super friendly people, delicious tacos and great service. I cannot say enough about how much I love the food and the prices! We like eating outside so the option to sit at the bar outside and watch football was too enticing. Had the 3 handmade beef rolled tacos. They were crunchy, and filled with tons of shredded beef. The plate came with a cup of guacamole, sour cream, and lettuce and Pico. Absolutely delicious! This is their second site which recently opened. Same menu as Encinitas and same great food, no matter what you order. They have an outdoor patio which is very comfortable. First time I have a couple tacos and didn't care for them. 2nd time I ordered the Carne Asada and El Paso burrito. One of the best burrito combos I've ever had! A lot of salsa choices at the bar so through trial and error, I found the perfect one. Sat with 2 high school friends reminiscing about 1998. Was a perfect lunch. Clean tables and bathroom. The San diego burrito is the best burrito I have ever had in my life. The chicken is probably the best chicken i've ever had it's spicy and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Los tacos is the real deal. The burritos are huge and they use quality meat and ingredients. Honestly made tortillas. I got the California and my wife got the healthiest burrito. We loved both of them. I barely finished it and I was at a lot haha. Sauces are really good too. Huge patio. Bunch of families. And they have a good draft list of local beers. Never went to the Encinitas location but have been anticipating this opening. Does not disappoint. Great prices, and huge portions, and they still maintain a fresh tasting product. Got the Local (Al pastor Cali burrito) my God. plus a birria taco. I will absolutely come back and try each plate. Saw the sashimi platter as well and I have to try that. This is just what the area is lacking, an actual taco shop with a bar albeit beer and wine only. It was busy during the dinner rush but they it organized. Nice presentation on plates, cool outdoor area. My only critique is bigger plastic cups for the salsa bar, also could use some corona and basic beers like corona or miller and maybe a stone. I'm not a big beer guy tho. Anyways the Al pastor has to be the the best in Cbad right now. Birria taco was great. My girl had the fiesta bowl with shrimp and that was very macro friendly; tons of protein and not loaded with rice; fresh veg and avo and some beans; nicely balanced. I will be coming back for lunch and dinner to try all of it. They also do breakfast burritos. I hope this place stays cause nothing in this location has yet. read more

So we decided to go to this new taco place. First off was the welcome. It seems that the workers here are a little unhappy. We sat inside and batted the flies from our plates. The food was acceptable, but it seemed that somebody forgot to cook the tortillas. The salmon taco was "well" cooked. We ask the hostess what the fish was other than the salmon. I still don't understand what she said, but it was obvious that it was a white fish. I think! Overall, we will be traveling elsewhere for fish tacos. read more

The burritos here are ginormous! Same length as my face. It's a walk up restaurant so we got to order right away. Drink order and food order are at different stations with standard fountain drinks and bar drinks. There is a salsa bar available as well. Seating is self seating with booths and chairs available. Today I ordered 2 tacos one the tradicional pastor and the second carnitas. They look beautiful colorful to the eye and very tasty to the mouth. They I realize I had both toppings combined: pico de gallo and pineapple. But I have to say I hope I can have this combination again because it was a bit different but so tasty. Service was not impressive, Messed up more order and brought the food out with no napkins utensils etc. Prices were steep almost $5 for a tiny taco that couldn't even stay together. The scene was mid. Food tasted fine but very hard to eat and very messy. Save your money and go somewhere. Never again. read more

NOT a fan! Have no idea what this community is raving about. We entered the restaurant - which is THAT kind of full price "restaurant" that wants you to stand in line to order and then go find a seat. I AM SORRY! I hate this! We were stuck behind seniors that had no idea what to order AND no idea of the menu! What menu? There isn't one until you're right up on the counter! No wonder these folks had problems! But it held the line back and no one in the whole place had the wherewithal to bring in another cashier/order taker. So bad! Unbelievable! Then you order. Nothing is as it seems - carne asada tacos have beans??? and huge chunks of pico? It's so confusing When you finally reach the salsa bar located next to the beverage station, you get these tiny little cups and I don't care how good or careful your POUR is - you're not nailing it here! If you order chips - and you're lucky enough to get them without asking for them TWICE you will dip none of them in your teeny tiny cup that's maybe half the size your standard Nyquil medicine shot! If you ask for a bigger vessel you will be shocked at the explanation! I dare you...go ask!!! I'm sorry! Forget it! I'm never returning - I absolutely hate it when restaurants cannot figure out who they are and have zero idea of what the customer experience should be! Epic FAIL! read more

I was visiting friends in Carlsbad and stopped in here as a word of mouth referral. My surf and turf burrito was delicious - perfectly seasoned and grilled carne asada with Diablo shrimp. One friend got the same but was able to make it a bowl - same yummy protein with beans and rice and some greens added. Our third friend got the fajita bowl with beef. I have been To Los Tacos a number of times and their sister restaurants. Great food and service...... if you plan to dine in or carry out. Don't door dash from here, drivers let our food sit for 40 min until we eventually picked up soggy tacos on our own. They should have known the wait was too long and replaced the order when we called and said we would just come grab it, instead they handed us a bag of soggy cold food. Not pleased. read more
