Pretty good tacos for a chain. Friendly staff fast service and I love having the condiment cart for all the toppings and options! Would recommend for a quick and satisfactory meal!

We have tried this place several times for lunch and dinner. Prices are a bit higher compared to other places but portions are pretty big. They have tables inside and at the patio. Plenty of free parking at the plaza where it's located.

Tried the combination 3 taco plate and they were generous with the guacamole and were great about my dairy allergy. Provided sides which is a bonus. Food was good, but nothing stood out. Just a solid meal. Would go here instead of Chipotle or Taco Bell. One of the few powers we have left as a society is our spending power. If you aren't happy with how the world is, do something! Corporations will change their ways if we stop giving them money. I know fast food is "cheap, quick, easy" , but you kill authenticity. You destroy local businesses. You feed into a system that doesn't take care of workers/us. Start resisting the comfort of conformity. Eat at Los Tacos which started in Oceanside around 2005 by a group of friends. Friendship, Passion, Enthusiasm. These are the words associated with Los Tacos. Those are all things we can support.

I was in the area and I wanted some tacos so I went online and checked out the menu , then came to Yelp to read up on some reviews . They were good enough for me to try it . Online ordering was easy and it was ready pretty fast . I got Al pastor tacos and a shrimp taco . The shrimp taco was bomb, but it had a lot of chipotle sauce on it . I really liked the sauce but was it too much , I can't decide . Honestly I'd get that again , great flavor . The Al pastor taco was the one I wasn't a fan of. Maybe that's my fault because it was super sweet , maybe the sweetest al pastor I've had . I'm sure others are fans of it but it wasn't my fav .

We ordered takeout from here and it was our first time there. I had the carnitas fajita bowl and the carnitas were tender and juicy. Portion was decent sized. I guess they were out of guacamole because they substituted it with sliced avocado. The carnitas burrito was pretty large and very good. Definitely worth a try.

We had a chicken taco, cheese quesadilla and a carnitas quesadilla. Delicious flavors, tender meat, nicely presented, at reasonable prices. Salsas were very good with a nice variety of heat levels. No chips are provided, though they can be purchased for an extra charge. Beans and rice are tiny portions, served in plastic cups. Decor is pretty basic, though lighting is a bit bright. This is more of a taqueria than a restaurant. Beers for sale (at a separate bar) are mostly craft and a bit pricey for a taqueria, especially if you just want simple cervezas to go with dinner. Bottled Coronas or Modelo would be a good addition. Not everyone is seeking a $9.50 microbrew. Might be better ambience when the weather warms and outdoor seating is available.

Chips (half order) were very average.

This is a new location of this small taco shop chain. Interestingly, they took over the same location where a different taco shop failed. This is more than a "Berto's" taco shop. The tacos and burritos are far more interesting and, dare I say, almost gourmet. I went with the Ghengis Nhan burrito (grilled chicken and chorizo) and it was phenomenal. Your food is made to order and you can really taste the quality and freshness. The salsa bar is great. They have a few nuclear spicy salsas along with some medium hot varieties and at least one moderate one. They also have fresh (and free) bagged radish slices and lime wedges in the salsa bar. Now, who does that? This location is unique because they actually have a counter where you can order draft beer. It looked like they had about six beers on tap. There is plenty of seating inside and a nice outdoor patio. My only knock is the chips. They were very ordinary and unseasoned. They could have been better. I love this chain. The food is interesting and delicious. It puts normal taco shops to shame.

I got there different tacos - (L=R) Birria, Carne Asada, and Garlic Shrimp! I LOVED this combo and would get it again!! I got refried bec

My wife had to pick up a jewelry repair order at Gems of LaCosta and since we were there around lunch time, I saw Los Tacos, did a quick Yelp and Google Review and suggested we try Los Tacos and BOY - WE ARE SO HAPPY WE DID!! This is the kind of place you want to hang out, because the ambience is great and welcoming, AND the tacos were AMAZING!!! And Armando the owner was so wonderful and he spent time chatting with me as I have done a lot of business in Mexico City with Televisa and Telcel, . . . . so it was a great bonding time and we talked about life, life in Mexico, the wonderful Mexican culture, and his passion for great food at Los Tacos!! Seriously, I thought the tacos here were perhaps the best I have had in San Diego. His hand made tortillas are exceptional - so fresh and delicious!! I loved the way he has the birria taco's tortilla slightly crispy so the juice of the birria didn't make the tortilla soggy and that birria and the juice - WOW!!! The Carne Asade taco was exceptional and flavorful - big bites of carne asade with flavor because there was a little touch of fat with the carne asada so it held the flavor and bite exceptionally well!! My Garlic Shrimp taco was perfectly seasoned and the taste was delicious!! I may return tomorrow and get the same tacos again, . . . .well, I may get a double order of three tacos because I want to try others!! This is a place you can go and hang out and feel like family because the owner is that kind of wonderful and the food is WOW!!

Handmade corn tortillas, al pastor (which isn't very common in Carlsbad), and local (both SD and Mexico) beers - very much needed for the La Costa / Aviara area. Food is on par w the other Los Tacos locations and a much needed flavor boost for the area. They've got unique burritos and killer tacos - enjoy!

Food: 4.5 stars. Lived the shrimp diabla taco. Quessabirria taco was a little sloppy and messy for my taste. Don't order this on a first date! My husband's fav is the salmon adobada. Only drawback was that one of his tacos came out cold. Service: 3 stars. Actual servers were great. Friendly and cleared plates quickly. But we waited over 30 mins for our tacos and the restaurant wasn't even 25% full. This has happened to us twice. Last time it was a 45 min wait for food!! The cashier should really tell the customers a wait time of it is going to be more than 10-15 mins. That's what people expect at a fast casual restaurant. Patio is dog friendly. Wish there was music

California burrito add guac with side of chipotle aioli

First time here and wow is an understatement. Got the California burrito and added guac. Then got a side of the chipotle aioli. Hands down best burrito I've ever eaten. They are making homemade tortillas as you walk in and have a salsa bar too. The staff was helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is nice! Definitely will be back when in the area.

Came for the Mexican food but didn't expect the great craft beer selection (Humble Sea, Pure Project, Fieldwork, play some Baja California craft breweries). The tacos and burritos are as expected - I preferred the carne asada and pollo but some may like the other offerings. They have breakfast burritos served all day which I will definitely try next time. This isn't a fancy place - order at the counter, take a number, and then find a seat. Dog friendly on the patio.

I like to try a bean and cheese burrito as a first test for Mexican places because it's so basic. I tried their "The King" bean & cheese burrito. I was hesitant seeing the menu label describing the use of "Mexican mix" cheese, and I was correct about that. The cheese was a very salty cheddar blend that overpowered the flavorless beans. That said, the beans are what lose a star for this review, because the cheese is just personal preference. The tortilla was the best part. It's a convenient spot with nice seating and small dedicated bar. Staff didn't seem very interested in being there but they were perfectly nice and it was a slow afternoon so I don't blame them. Not going to be a go-to place but it's not bad if you're looking for something nearby.

They bring hot chips, salsa & queso to the table. Delicious & addictive. I could fill up on just those. However, we ordered regular meals. Two got the adobada (pork w/ pineapple) tacos. Lots of meat on corn tortillas. My husband got ranchera enchiladas w/ ground beef filling. I got the chile relleno which was a poblano chile laid out with ground beef & cheeses on top. Unusual, delicious & healthier than the usual deep fried ones. The two boys got bean & cheese burrito & nachos off the kid's menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We will definitely be back.

It's just not the kind of Mexican restaurant where the veggies are organic and they are not using seed oils. And it works if you've got young kids in tow because the staff is nothing but friendly. I would say it's a very family friendly restaurant perfect for that little strip of Chick Filet, In and Out area of the 101 in Carlsbad. Funny. I am sure Chick Filet is not spelled that way .... but I've never eaten there, and don't really pay attention to fast food restaurants. In and Out is delicious too, but when I got to the bottom of the fries and it said they clearly use seed oils.... I was done. I understand that America is poisoning us ..... so I can't really applaud Miguel. But I also understand that many of us have young kids and less money. It's more about the gathering or being comfortable going for a meal. So it's definitely an option for many people. Plus we're stressed so comfort food is a nice break. I did not go for a salad. I did not go for things not fried. So I would say Miguels is good for a break from eating healthy. Not to deny yourself. Just not to do it as a regular thing. One last thing: My 3 year old grandson ordered fruit. Hmmm..... With gusto, garlic and gratitude, Chef Marian   San Diego Foodies Carlsbad Foodies

My wife said she'd never really liked anything she got there, but I said let's give them another try. Counter service was meh. No personality. No greeting. Just took the order and sent us on our way. Her attitude seemingly got worse after I didn't tip. (I do NOT tip at a counter place where I do all the refills and bus my own table.) We got their a 8:30 and they had to put the coffee out because we ordered it. All the bar stools in the front were all upside down on the tables. I'm sure we could have pulled them down, but come-on. It's 8:30 on a Sunday morning. Put your damn chairs down. My wife ordered the Al Pastor scramble served American style (hash browns & toast). The portion was small (no WAY that was three eggs), and the al pastor meat pieces were lacking flavor. The hash browns were barely cooked. She said, "this is what I was talking about." $17 or so. I ordered the breakfast burrito allegedly with chicken fried steak in it. $17 for JUST a burrito with no sides. I tasted no evidence of CFS, but I did taste some sausage gravy. It was a generously sized burrito. I will also add that their salsas go from NO heat (fresca) to super heat. Nothing in the middle. And one of the hot salsas was just yuck. (The one with all the pepper flakes in it.) The other tasted OK. They had carrots & jalapeños at the salsa bar, but tiny cups to put them in, so... Anyway... I like the surf and turf here, but everything else just seems meh. In a town with so much good Mexican food, I'll go elsewhere. The drive-through around the corner would have been cheaper and tastier.
