I travel around the Bakersfield area doing video reviews of taco trucks, taco shops, and anything else I think will be good. So I've been to a few taco trucks, and this one rates up there with the best. This might not seem like much, but they make their own Jamaica. From scratch. And it's hands down the best I've ever had. If you like Jamaica, stop by this truck and get some. But don't pass by their food. It's not the standard tacos and burritos. This is some different items, from a bit farther south than most places. Things like Tlacoyos. They kind of remind me of a pupusa, topped with a good chunk of white cheese, with lots of flavor. Sincronizada, which is a kind of fried sandwich. Tortas are also really good, with a variety of different things you can have stuffed in there. The owner/operator is a super nice guy, who will answer any question you might have about his food. It has to be said, the number of places to get tacos in Bakersfield is more than plentiful -- you can find trucks every few blocks here. If you're looking for solid quesadillas though, I'd recommend checking out this truck. It's located at the HCG church parking lot and wait time is not too bad. I'm not gonna lie, I haven't tried the tacos here. And this is because I can't pry myself away from their quesadillas. One of my go-to late night spots when I'm looking for a quick bite before sleeping, the quesadillas have a nice crunch and the meat/cheese inside are hot and creamy. It's everything you'd expect and want out of a quesadilla... I easily wolf these down in minutes. They also serve something called sincronizada here (see image) --- I've never had it anywhere else. It's like a quesadilla, but its classically served with ham and includes lettuce, jalepenos and tomatoes. The fresh veggies add some texture and variety with each bite; I enjoy it as an alternative to quesadillas. Insider secret --- ask for their avocado sauce, which is not left outside like the other condiments. It has a nice spicy kick to it and I slather it on everything. I always ask for two! Be sure to check their closing time if you plan on going late, as they vary by day... there are few things sadder than seeing a taco truck pull away as you're rounding the corner. :( read more

The quality of these tacos is undeniable, LETS GET REAL!! We alllllll love a good taco; but these aren't just good, they're amazing tacos. My usual order is two carnitas tacos no matter where i decide to eat them.. i won't pin these against other tacos in order to refrain from staring one is better than the other. But in most cases the tacos u have had from other locations tend to be dry as if they are sitting in a warming plate all day waiting to be served. That's a yuck from me however I ordered two carnitas from this location and of course with both the red and green sauce and all the toppings. This place is delicious! I've been driving by this truck every day on my way home from work, but never got the opportunity to stop by until lunch today. I got the al pastor tacos, and the meat was seasoned perfectly with really good tortillas that didn't break under weight of the meat or get soggy from the salsa. First time here, tried asada, pastor, lengua, and cabeza tacos. Asada and pastor were my favorite, lengua and cabeza not so much. The size of the tortilla is small and so is the meat portion. Asada had a little too much gristle and was left with even a smaller portion of meat. The red salsa was good with a kick. I ate a perfect sandwich today: the meat a smokey rotisserie-kissed pork offset with the sweet pineapple for balance. Toppings including lettuce, fresh red onion, pickled jalapeno, and aguacate are present and noticeable, not overwhelming but enhancing flavors with added textures and notes of savory, spicy, and sour. The torta is completed with melted cheese and toasted bun.
