We were driving through Bakersfield and wanted to eat some Mexican food. We yelped a few places but decided we would try Loncheria Otro Rollo because it was a quick off and on the highway. What great fortune!!! The combination was delicious. Two awesome potato tacos with a half of a Carnitas torta kept me full all day. The horchata was even better than delicious and my girlfriend was able to get unsweetened jamaica... the ladies running the stand were super sweet and you could taste their love in the food. It was so good we stopped back by on the way back from our trip. I had the combination and the horchata again and my lady switched it up with a carne asada taco, a carnitas taco and more unsweetened jamaica. Everything was delicious as before. If you are traveling through Bakersfield and looking for a quick and delicious meal, you can't go wrong at Loncheria Otro Rollo. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants great Mexican street food. read more

Amazing experience with the Torta Ahogada that totally hit the spot for our craving for tacos and their adjuncts. This place has a great variety of choices, and I'm glad we braved the modest parking lot and trailer, which to its credit did include shade from the sun. The service was excellent, and our host was glad to share about each dish especially since I'm not always familiar with the Jaliscience-Michoacán terminology. Tried that tacos de canasta (carnitas) with all the toppings on top "A". Tacos the papa con queso topped with veggies and carnitas "B". So, I have been wanting to come back for a little while now, but I just haven't had a chance to come back until recently. We had eaten a late breakfast that day, so we decided we would grab a late lunch and get those papas de tacos we love so much. When we got there, there was a family already sitting on the table; however, they didn't setup their other table or their canopy. It was a nice day, sunny and a little bit breezy, so no canopy was fine. Their extra table and extra chairs were folded on the side of their red truck. The reason why I felt the need to re-review this visit is because this visit did not feel the same versus all the times we have come. Each visit it felt welcoming, but I did notice the owner wasn't present, so I don't know if that's what happened. They used to give fried potatoes while you wait, but I don't think they do that anymore. Anyway, the paying part was the weirdest part of our visit. So she takes our order and says she'll take the payment after we eat and I thought I heard her wrong so I just waited. Then she hands us our food and then says again she'll take our payment after we eat. I grab both plates and I didn't have any hands free and my husband had grab drinks next door so he didn't have hands free. I said look I have to pay now because there's no tables for us to sit at and we probably have to eat in the car. She then starts talking about it's difficult because she has to put the machine here and plug it here and so forth... Long story short, they didn't setup the table and chairs for us, us paying it immediately was an inconvenience to them, and we sat in our car eating. I was a huge fan of this place and I have told coworkers, family members, and random people that this is the spot for papas de tacos and for tortas and I hope they just had an off day. read more

Lonchería otro rollo has the best tortas ahogadas. The meat is so tasty and the salsa is delicious. I enjoy drenching my torta with the sauce and the spicy sauce is so good. The ladies are always nice especially the owner, she is so welcoming and always treats everyone with respect. My only complain is that I ordered the combo plate that includes 2 tacos de papa and half a torta ahogada, the food was delicious but the portion of the torta was way to small it was probably about 2 inch long. My personal opinion is that I would like a bigger portion of torta even if I have to pay a little extra. read more

Me and my S.O. Travel from Southern California to Northern California often for family, we have now stopped here twice and it's now my absolute favorite food stop on our travels. This was one of our favorite places to eat when we lived in Bakersfield. Years later, and we still exit White To stop by there whenever we pass through. The employees there are always incredibly nice, the wet tortas are smothered in this red spicy sauce that is soooo flavorful. and potato hard tacos always hit the spot. This time, we got a sandwich they wasn't wet and soaked in the spicy red sauce. It had mustard and jalapeño and it was perfection. If this review is useless because I can't remember the actual name of the food, then I'm sorry! But the employees will be able to help you pick what to order just by you describing it.
