    Plain tripa

This review is for Erick's tacos on morning drive and Nile's st. Since they've started selling tacos we were very impressed with the food and service. Today we suffered our first disappointment. Tripa tacos were mediocre and plain with hardly any meat. Hence why we quit going to El Buen Pastor. I also ordered some pastor tacos and they were lame and small and plain. What happened guy? You guys were the best in Bakersfield. Now I'll have to look for another place to spend my money in. This really saddens me. The location is ok and ambiance was absent. I would consider twice about trying them out now.

Stopped by the Stockdale location! So far these have been the best tacos i've had in town! The Al Pastor from the trompon are my favorite! This is also a really great location with lots of parking. Just a heads up they only take cash, apple pay and zelle. I'll be going back to try the Lengua, Suadero and chorizo next and will provide an update. The asada was nice char but little over smokey(almost as if they threw in liquid smoke). Tripas where soft and tender and crispy the way I like them and the Al pastor was a knock out to finish it off the tortillas where made fresh there!

Loaded potato - I added my own avocado at home.

Late night, forgot to eat around dinner and suddenly it's 11:30pm and I'm hungry. I search up spots that are open & find Ericks. I'm pumped. I ordered a carnitas quesadilla, asada tacos, a loaded potato, and a BRC burrito. Not all for me- don't judge. The food was just ok. My loaded potato was nothing near the decadence of the potatoes served up at swap meet. Not even close. It had too much cheese & the toppings didn't have any balance of freshness. It was a muddy mess and even after adding my own avocado, I felt too guilty eating it and left it alone. The quesadilla I can't complain about but it was basic and I can't praise it either. The tacos were just ok. We had to add our own toppings that were in buckets on a table to the side. I prefer them to come already put together. Anyway.. I wasn't too impressed. 5/10.

Erick's Street Tacos in Bakersfield is one of the best tacos I have ever had. I came here late at night, around 11:00 PM, and they were here. Parked our car on the side and got in line. There were already people enjoying their order and also just hanging out. We took our to-go and ate in the hotel. It was close by, and also the asada was great! The salsa was extra spicy, especially the orange one! We also got an asada quesadilla, and that was also good. The green sauce is amazing, and if you do come, get that! I can see why this spot got a high rating on Yelp.

    Live Maggot from Erick's Horchata
    Chrystal S.

I really liked their food but I'm giving them 1 star because their was a MAGGOT in my daughters horchata. A LIVE MAGGOT that she spit out of her mouth. We were their second customers of the day that day and waited patiently while they got everything setup. We've not been back since and don't plan to. Unfortunate, for me since they are so close by. I put the maggot in a little cup and considered taking it back over to them but I never did. It wouldn't change anything. Anyone who has made horchata before knows that there had to have been something nasty going on for a maggot to show up in it. Someone was lazy somewhere.

SO good!!! We went to the Auburn location (a dirt lot next to an apartment complex) on a Tuesday night when they were offering $1 tacos. The truck got there at 5:30 and was set up and taking orders around 6:30. It took about 20 minutes after that for us to get our food. While we weren't prepared for the wait, it went by quickly as we watched all the prep that went into it. Honestly, though? It was so worth the wait!!! They had about 10 types of meat and we tried 3 on our tacos - asada, pollo and pastor. The others were good, but we cannot recommend the pastor enough! Came with a thin slice of pineapple that added just a touch of sweetness. They also had pickled onions, radishes and cucumbers, multiple salsas and, of course, onion and cilantro. All SO good!!! We ate it in the car as there was minimal seating, but they had everything we needed to take it to go. The experience was definitely not what we were expecting. Overall, though, we will most definitely be going back!

I forgot the onions & cilantro! But really good asada & chicken tacos!

I found this place on Auburn St. in East Bakersfield (a little east of Fairfax) on a Wednesday night. I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 chicken taco. All of them were really tasty. They had buckets of onions and salsas. The service was good but they only take cash or Zelle. The ambiance was very casual as it's an outdoor street vendor. Overall, I'd go back!

Love coming here for our taco fix. Food is made to order and the service is well organized. The lady take your order and gives you a number they call out when your food is ready. It smells amazing as soon as you pull up and they have a menu poster with pricing and meats for easier ordering. Cash and Zelle accepted.

    Al pastor and asada tacos

The best tacos I've had . I came down to visit my mom and both times I went to get these tacos because they are soooooo gooood. I live in the LA area and so far these tacos are wayyyyyy better than any taco out here. I had the carne asada and Al pastor tacos with the darker green salsa, would recommend 10/10. Horchata and strawberry horchata was average.

The tacos are too salty and doesn't have a char flavor. They also do no take card which is a huge inconvenience.

The place is pretty easy to find on the corner of 18th & R. There isn't a lot of seating for more than parties of 4. We were a party of 6 and we all smooshed into a horseshoe booth inside. There are only 2 of these booths available and they indicated they are not able to place additional seating at the booths. I imagine you might be able to put tables together outside for a larger party. We were greeted warmly, and while I felt overwhelmed by the amazing choices, the gal taking our order put me at ease by walking me through the menu board. We got amazing carnitas quesadillas and tacos and another dish that came on top of a mound of delicious fries. It's the kind of place where you order, then sit down and they bring you the food. We were well taken care of. Our drinks were refilled and they brought us 'to go' boxes. Their portions are generous and just tasty. And the iced tea was perfect! We ordered a full order of chips and salsa. That is extra. It was $6 for a full order ($5 for half) and these chips were well worth the cost. We will be back!

We had a hard time finding it at first, but it's located in the parking lot of South Union Mini Mart. There's a lot of different taco trucks on Union, so make sure you don't pass this one up. Parking isn't really an issue, so don't worry about that. Staff is really nice. The first time we visited the young lady that took our order was very friendly and interactive. She had a nice warm personality so you feel welcomed when you visit. The owner, I didn't catch his name but he's literally cooking the food in the back. He's super friendly and also made us feel welcomed. Even though they are wayyyy out there on Union, they are the reason why people want to come back. Yes, food can be good at places, but if you have a good heart and personality then people can tell you're genuine. The first time we visited we were overwhelmed because we wanted to try EVERYTHING, I don't know what's my favorite item yet, but I'll let you guys know when I find out. Don't sleep on Taqueria El Jalisciense! I'm not a big fan of chicken tacos and I even loved those and I would get it again. Everything is so flavorful and you can tell he really thought about his menu. What I love is that he uses quality meats. Don't believe me? Definitely check out his instagram @jalisciense_torres don't blame me if you get hungry checking out his page haha. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. If you're around the area and don't mind driving out to Union then this is the place. Give them a chance. P.S. they only take cash or Zelle so be prepared and they open in the evenings at 4pm-10pm. You better go before people start hearing about this place and the lines get too long. :-)
