10/10 experience every time! I've been to this location a handful of times now and actually have a location far closer to me than this one. That being said, I'll always drive further for this Los Tres Amigos! The service here is top notch, always very friendly and efficient, never having to wait long for a table or your meal. As far as ambiance goes, this place is super vibrant and lively. There's lots of high quality decor spread around the whole restaurant that adds a great touch to the atmosphere! As far as the food goes, the quality is very high and far better than the quality at the location I live by. The presentation and preparation seem to be more thoughtfully taken care of by the chefs in the back! This is easily my favorite Mexican restaurant I've tried so far in Ingham County! The service is incredibly friendly and efficient, the food gets out to you pretty fast too! As far as the food goes, it is high quality and absolutely delicious. My favorite thing to get are the birria tacos! They never disappoint! As far as ambiance goes, the exterior is incredibly nice, colorful and clean which matched the interior perfectly! My husband ordered the lime margarita with FLOATIES in the cups and so much salt you couldn't even drink it. We brought it up to the server he just said it was the margarita. Grabbed some carry out tacos from Los Tres on the Southside and they weren't too bad. The beans were on the thinner side, the corn tortillas were thick and a little tough. The steak and chicken were both ok and the salsa was on the mild/medium side. My order came with white corn tortilla chips and they were unsalted. The portions here were larger than some of the other spots I've tried in town and the price was fair. All-in-all, my food and experience here were average and we'll probably be back to this location (or other locations) to try other menu items in the future! read more

I've been here approximately 45 minutes, and I understand this place is very busy, but no food yet. I asked if they could turn the channel on tv so I could watch the tigers baseball. I was yeah sure. That was over 15 minutes ago. Still no baseball of any kind. Maybe they can't get that channel and that's alright just come back and let me know, NOTHING. This brand new location just opened 3 weeks ago. They have put a lot of effort into rehabbing the building and it shows. The dining room and bar area look great and feel very comfortable. We went early tonight (Fri) out of fear they would be very busy and the wait would be long. The lot was 75% full at 5:30pm but we were seated immediately and the dining room was hopping. . Our drink orders were taken and delivered quickly. Chips and salsa appeared and were very satisfying. Our orders were taken shortly thereafter. Since the menu has new choices, my partner had the dinner special, sort of a sampler. A little of everything: chalupa, taco, chile Relleno, tamal, and enchiladas. Served with Mexican rice and refried beans. It was very good, too much for one person really. I ordered the Quesabirrias Three corn tortillas with melted cheese stuffed with slow-cooked beef topped with onion and cilantro Served with consommé, mild and hot salsas. These were freaking delicious and the consommé was amazing. Everything was really good, all the wait staff really hustled and showed enthusiasm for their work. We will definitely be back. read more

My initial perspective from the reviews were mixed. Upon walking in was much improved. Great Ambience, Mexican music playing, 5 flat screen TV's in the bar area. Salsa and chips delivered quickly, and the salsa had a great flavor. That usually means the rest of the good will as well. The waiter was very personable and also had a belief that all their food was good. Ordered the Chili Verde, and while waiting noticed that there were a lot of families. Seems to be a very relaxed inviting environment for kids as well as adults. The food was great. Not very spicy, the pork was fall apart cooked, very tasty. After eating the rest of the food I've decided to lower my rating by 1star- there is some tough meat and gristle still attached. If in this area again I will come back! Places nicely decorated to fit that atmosphere for Mexican cuisine however it's not quite authentic I ordered a chimichanga is supposed to be fried it wasn't..it was loaded with roast beef but it strangely taste like corned beef so wasn't really into it. our server seemed pretty nice but not very attentive to our needs we ran out of drinks and he walked right past us several times.. the room was hot and uncomfortable but the beer was cold and inexpensive so it wasn't a total loss but doubt I'll be back anytime soon read more

Do not go to this location. The blonde female manager is breathtakingly bad at her job. This is the second time I've had to speak with her; the last time she was so awful, I haven't been back in 6 months. Last time I dined in. I ordered an expensive margarita that tasted like straight tequila and I sent it back. I ordered a 5$ margarita instead, it was delicious. Meanwhile, the server was horrible. When the bill came I was charged for both margaritas and this crap manager refused to take off the one I sent back. Then she pretended she didn't speak English very well, so I complained in Spanish. She FINALLY agreed to take it off... Then she took off the wrong one. In addition, she brought the terrible server with her, so we weren't really able to complain about the bad service. Do understand that this is a tactic of hers to keep you from complaining bc complaining about someone in front of them is incredibly awkward and she is aware of this. So we just never went back. Tonight I ordered togo. I was pretty sure I'd been over charged for our "sides" of queso, but whatever. I got home and my entree was completely wrong. So rather than eat dinner with my family, I drove back to get it remade. I didn't want to complain to the togo kid (very nice young man), so I went to the host desk and asked for a manager. They weren't busy, but it took her 5 minutes to come up front. And I could see her walk by the bar and go grab the togo kid to bring him up with her. Again, it's a tactic. Especially since I told the two hosts I didn't want to complain in front of the togo kid and I'm positive they told her that So she argued for nearly FIVE minutes when I asked for him to go away bc I didn't want to complain about what happened in front of him. He made a mistake, and yes I was over charged for the queso, but he really was very sweet and I didn't want him to feel bad. I was forced to tell him that directly bc SHE WOULD NOT SEND HIM AWAY NO WHATEVER WHAT I SAID, even after I called her out for the bs tactic and told her it was incredibly unprofessional and unpleasant. He finally just walked away on his own. Then as I told her what happened (I'm furious by then, but I was very calm and professional bc I didn't want to argue, I just wanted it fixed.), She once again pretended not to understand me. She made me repeat the ENTIRE complaint and then still acted like she didn't get what it was that I wanted... So I told her in as much Spanish as I could and at that point it was clear she absolutely understood me, she just wanted to argue. Granted, when I brought my entree back, I should've brought the fries and queso back, bc it was going to be cold when I got home. Fine, mistake. But when I asked her to remake those items for me, it was fast more important for her to argue with me over 50 cents work of queso. And I mean Argued with me. It took minimum of 15 minutes before she finally relented and had the food remade. And when I pointed out that I was over charged for queso, she's acted like I was crazy. She lied two or three times about their menu, dining in vs togo, ect. When I called out each lie, she just became more belligerent. Again, it far more important to argue than to just say I'm sorry you had to come back, and send me on my way. When I told her she was a bad manager and how she treated us the last time, she said, "Oh you complained BEFORE??" and rolled her eyes. I asked her for her boss' named and number about 7 times. She alternately pretended not to understand and then flat out refused to tell me. About a half an hour later, she brings me my food where I'm sitting in the lobby. I told her I didn't trust her and I was going to look at the food. So I walked back to the host desk. She walked back there, then said, you need to follow me to the back, you're in everyone's way out here". They're was NO ONE around or coming in. I stepped over to the side counter and waited 4 or 5 minutes before she came back with my food. And again with the togo kid. One of the hosts has to go get her. When I finally was allowed to look at my food, she remade the wrong entree. And of course, there was no queso. I told her that I've never had such a bad experience with a manager and I've worked in restaurants for trente años. And she again refused to give me her boss's information. I exploded and very regretfully called her a stupid effing b and stormed out. Now when I talk to her boss, he won't listen to me bc I was abusive. I wish I had kept my cool. But I am telling you, this chick goaded me and pushed my buttons for well over 25 minutes by the end. Suffice it to say, I will never return to any Los Tres after that. Any business that would employ a person who would treat guests that way...nah son, that's a problem with the culture within your company. Sorry this was a novel, everyone. So, my fiancé and I went to Los Tres Amigos. I received dry, bland, mushy fish tacos and overcooked Mexican rice. My fiancé received mediocre tacos. Everytime we go here we get the same waiter who clearly does not care about his job. He is very non attentive and if you get thirsty and your drink runs out here, good luck.
