My wife is from a Mexican family and I can say that this restaurant is about as authentic as you'll find anywhere in the United States. Very impressive overall. Got the taco dinner plate with barbacoa and two other meats that I'm forgetting now but the barbacoa was the stand out. Like I'm eating at my mother-in-laws. The value was tremendous too. The dinner, two cans of beer and tip was somehow under $30. I'm from Minneapolis and you can't find value like this there. Service was overwhelmed by the number of tables for only 2 servers. But, they still did as good a job as possible keeping up with things. I LOVED the space. Very big and they have a large private party space. There's also a woman in the back making homemade tortillas right in front of you. Lansing I hope you know how good you have it with Taqueria Chaparrito!!

My spicy carnitas tacos were excellent and homemade tasting. Covered in seasoning and the salsa Verde is a must. I was in town and want to try my favorite cuisine. The staff was friendly. I did have to wait for the cashier to teach her staff something. It was a little awkward as the customer should have come first being there was not many people in this large establishment and no one behind me. The wait was the wait. All in all it was okay. better suit for larger groups.

Waiting time: 10/10 ( take out order) Service: 8/10 Atmosphere/ambience: 6/10 Food: 5-6/10 Price point: 5/10 Would return: No The food was o and k. It definitely was not the quality you would expect for that price point. The steak was chewy and dry. The gordita was also dry. Charged extra for that small container of sour cream (pictured), which should have came with the fajita (Charged 1.99, like really). The only plus out of this meal was the Tres Leche cake which surprisingly was tasty. Other than that, the people were cool. The restaurant was your typical Mexican decor. I should've known though something was up when I arrived in the late afternoon early evening, and it was empty besides one couple.

This was the first time we visited this restaurant. My husband loves menudo and wanted to try it. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely. We were greeted and seated right away. They provide you chips and salsa. What is great, the waitress kept replenishing our chips. My husband ordered the menudo. It came with a side of the chopped onions, jalapeños, and cilantro. He loved it! He said it had great flavor. I ordered the pozole. It was delicious! It came side radishes and this spice that made the dish even more delicious. We saw others order different items and we look forward to coming back to try out a few different food items! Great food and great service!!

Wow this place is amazing!! I did carry out but I wish I would have sat down! Inside was super clean with a fun atmosphere! The waitress who gave me my order was so kind and sweet and gave me extra hot sauce! When I couldn't decide between red or green she gave me both !! The shrimp were seasoned perfectly and so delicious. Cooked perfectly. The peppers were fresh and had great flavor. I usually don't love rice at Mexican restaurants because it's dry but this was anything but dry! The salsa was my favorite, it had a little kick and the fresh cooked chips filled me up! I didn't love the red sauce, it was a little smokey. Had a good flavor just not type of sauce however the green sauce was out of this world! Best Mexican place I've found outside of Mexico (and a random food truck in Florida)!

EN: Food is usually bomb. I ordered a menudo through DoorDash. Tripe was full of hair. I've made menudo. Not normal. Take a blowtorch to it or clean the pork well next time please. ES: Normalmente la comida está buena. Pero esta vez el menudo estaba bien peludo.

Upstairs has windows that overlook the street. Good place for groups & families. Brighton can get expensive for meals, so we appreciated the "tapas" small bites, fun to share. It has character that adds to the experience. We had a fairly large group, we were seated upstairs where it is bright and more spacious than expected. The service was excellent! Very attentive and the food arrived quickly and accurately. The group ordered mostly the carne asada and the Al pastor tacos. It arrives mostly on the same tray and each person grabs their tacos. They were all Presented nicely with tasty toppings. Another person ordered the quesadilla and another ordered a rice bowl, I ordered the wet burrito. It was very big and was filled with a good amount of chicken and lots of rice, topped with queso. We ordered the chips and salsa and the chips and trio, this includes salsa, queso and guacamole. We requested the hot salsa as well. We enjoyed everything! We left full and satisfied. I would certainly eat here again. Great flavors! Quick side note, the prices are on the high side, chips and salsa are not complimentary and each item is ala cart. A side of rice and each salsa, jalapeños etc. gets pricey and when it's added to the tacos priced individually, the bill climbs quickly. Just something to take into consideration when planning an outing.

Anytime I do a review I try to take in the experience as a whole. Not just focusing on the food, or…read moreif the service was bad. So why did I give The Acapulco Mexican Grill a 3 star? Let me explain. The place is conveniently located downtown Charlotte with plenty of parking. If there's no street side parking out front, there's a big lot out back too. It's a good size restaurant with lots of seating inside, but there's also an outdoor patio if that's your thing. The menu has just about anything you would typically want from a sit down Mexican restaurant, and a sizable drink menu also. The place is relatively clean and the restrooms are usually kept up. I've never had a meal or bad service. Sounds like everything you'd want in a restaurant. But honestly, that's how things are supposed to be. I expect the place to be clean. I expect the staff to be polite. I expect the food be good. These are all standard things. A 3 star review is just that, standard. Anything higher would be above and beyond. I just don't think this place or the food is above and beyond. There's a couple other Mexican restaurants nearby, so I'd figure they'd step their game up a notch. Unfortunately I don't see it. I'll eat here again, because I like it. They are in fact better than the other places. But the other places lessor reviews don't automatically add stars to this one. Do average, get average.
