The service was great upon coming in but through my time there not so good, felt like and after thought. Chips and salsa okay, chips needed salt. It was taco Tuesday and asked for the special and he said "cheaper tacos" so I got one traditional taco with great flavor of meat to cheese to lettuce ratio...not many options for hot sauce . The enchilada came out barely warm and make it very hard to eat. I did not get a discount on my taco was still $3.50...not sure I'll ever be back by choice. We chose to call in for a pick up order and were told it would take 25 minutes. I arrived about 5 minutes early and went in prepared to wait. Not the case. I'd never been here before. It wasn't bad. The food came out really quickly and was hot and fresh. There were many signs posted that they are really short staffed but you wouldn't know it by how quickly we were seated and given our food. My margarita was great, super tasty. My only complaint is the bench seat table we were at was super short and the cushion on the seat was kinda thick (which isn't a bad thing) and that made it hard to slide in and out from the table. This has always been our go to spot for years, but no more. Not sure where things went wrong- new management, owners, chef, servers?? They no longer have happy hour either. One of the first reviews I read pretty much summed up my experience. Got to us quick but didn't see or hear from anyone after the food delivered. Empty water glass until meal gone. We were by the front exit and staff station so there was no excuse for not seeing empty glass sitting on the edge of the table (never made eye contact at any visit to the station). we order from this restaurant often, but less frequently recently. their food is good and their portions are above average, but I don't like how they don't label food. sometimes, it's hard to tell which meal is who's. we got this with friends and ordered $110 worth for food, 5 entrees plus 2 sides/apps. we paid online ahead of time. given the size of the order and that we ordered while we were on our boat ~10 min away from the restaurant, and showed up 1hr after ordering. when we arrived, the woman who greeted us was irritated we showed up when we did - an hour after ordering. she told us it was a lot of food for no one to come? I asked what she meant, and she said it was a lot of food to waste if no one came. I confirmed with the woman the order was paid for, but she made two more comments about it while giving us our food. Food and service was horrible , let's start with the filthy menu that had dried up salsa and what appeared to be dried up queso all over it I asked the server for a clean menu, he acted put out, when he returned 5 minutes later with the menu he made it a point to tell me he cleaned it, well he didn't bother to open it and wipe off this pages inside. I ordered the Molcajete which stated it came with steak, chicken and sausage topped with a special salsa, it should have said swimming in a special salsa it came with a small piece of chicken and piece of shoe leather that I guess was considered the steak that literally sliced into 4 strips of meat the size of McDonald's French Fries and I guess the sausage was part of the salsa cause it wasn't anywhere to be found , it was literally a big bowl of salsa , I have had this this several places all have been different none the same but all good, not this one it was horrible and the beans were cold, server walked by my table 3 times and never asked about a refill on my drink until he seen I was almost done eating , also brought my bill to the table right after bringing my food, Will never return to this location that's for sure I would have given 0 stars but Yelp wont let you.. Small portions with no flavor that was our first delivery impression last night. We decided to order from LTA after working in the yard, I ordered the pork carnitas which are supposed to be finished in the oven / grill to give them a bit of flavor with some salsa verde. What I got was 2 pieces of pork a third of one all fatty with no flavor the rest a uniform unappealing gray and no salsa verde, add a bit of rice and beans along with store bought tortillas and it was entirely disappointing and forgettable. My wife had the chicken fajitas and asked for shrimp, when it arrived it was just full of vegetables, fair amount of chicken but no shrimp. I will give them credit for fast efficient delivery and being pleasant to deal with. I really cannot see giving them any more than 2 or 3 stars. We will not be eating here again. 6/1/20 was contacted as you can see what a joke don't be fooled and dropping this review to one star. read more

Had dinner a few weeks ago and it was pretty good. The issue was with the woman at the front. My wife and I had a bad interaction with her and since we were seated near the front, we noticed that other people did too. Maybe she was having a bad day or something.... Fast forward some time and I order carry out last night before work. I stop by to pick it up and this woman simply has no people skills and should NOT be in a customer service role. She does not know how to talk to people and she is very rude. Customer service is obviously not in her vocabulary. She should not be allowed to talk to people. Also the food was pretty gross. The sauce had a really undesirable taste. Definitely not good like usual or like just a few weeks back. With the mediocre food and that terribly rude person on the throne up front, we will never go back. We will just take our money to a place that gives a crap about people. read more

Second time here. It was really good! The first time was only meh, but today the food was great! The margaritas were awesome too! I got the Pollo Poblano and a pineapple margarita along with the house margarita. My husband ordered the fish tacos and a watermelon margarita. I will definitely visit again. If you're a vegetarian I recommend the meatless beef tacos. Holy guacamole they're good! The portion sizes here are larger then most Mexican restaurants I've dined at. I couldn't finish my meal I was so full! The ambiance is cute and colorful and the staff is really nice. read more

First time eating here and unfortunately had a terrible eating experience. We ordered 6 chicken tenders and they were Tiny and clearly cut in half (3 tenders). The chicken on the shredded chicken tacos was terrible and the taco itself was literally just Lettuce and chicken. My wife ordered the pollo Jalisco which was supposed to have a ton of toppings (guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, and lettuce) all we received was a bowl of rice with a couple pieces of chicken. Went here for lunch and the specials were very reasonably priced! The shrimp tacos (corn tortillas) were cooked to perfection, and the pico was so flavorful! 5 stars for fish taco. The speedy Gonzalez lunch was perfect lunch size and tasty! The chips and salsa was great and refilled frequently! For a large group the waiter attended to us well! Surprisingly good! The restaurant itself is very regular, not fancy or too decorated. But the service and food were excellent! And the margarita was EXACTLY what I needed-- not too sour, strong enough, plenty of salt and fresh fruit on the edge to squeeze in on top! And it was part of their happy hour so it was cheap. We ordered fajita quesadillas (lots of melted, fatty cheese!) and seafood tacos. They let us create our own because my husband wanted to try both shrimp and fish. Great afternoon lunch stop for a margaritas with the ladies, on a Saturday afternoon. Very easy to find, just off the road, though the front door was another story. Oops. We were seated by the friendly host and tended to by our waiter immediately. Everyone was all smiles and the place wasn't too busy, but something kept delaying our waiter. He kept forgetting things like when we would ask for water, or didn't bring enough rolled flatware and couldn't remember to bring another when he came back. He was a little spacey, but it was a good experience, overall. The food was good - nothing stood out good or bad. We had lunch specials that were as expected. My family and I have been going here for nearly 20 years! This place hasn't failed us. We come here all the time and the waiters and waitresses are efficient and nice. They can keep up with my specific orders which is great. This is a solid restaurant for authentic Mexican food and their service is frequently efficient which accompanies their great food. Every single business I go into these days, in Michigan, have signs saying "please be patient, we are short staffed" Is this becoming an excuse in case there is a problem? Los Tres Amigos in Howell goes above & beyond, the postings. They have signs on ALL the doors, saying: : we are very very very short staffed". No sign to say, seat yourself, or wait to be seated. That would help them. No one at podium to greet or direct. A stressed worker came out & asked us if we were picking up or dining in? Umm, let me decide, it is a Saturday at 5pm, Man & Woman came in together, no one else waiting....we wouldn't come in as a couple to pick up carry-out. I guessed that about 4 people were working. Bar Tender, Server, Cook & table delivery staff. We were left to sit, with no one approaching us, to drop off menus or take a drink order. But wait, we were put at the booth & left alone so we could choose our food after scanning the Q Code on the wall. I get it. Most began using Q Codes during Covid. I personally don't choose to use my phone as a menu. I want the whole experience. Since we dine out rarely. The server, did ask us if we wanted menus. She was a good server, but didn't know what was available for draft vs in a bottle. Too young. She brought me my Modelo without a glass to pour it in. I didn't request one, since it seemed more work for their limited staff. It was not busy. Only about 5 booths with customers. The food, Fajitas, came out quickly & was good. It used to be a great place to dine. 6 tvs on, all the same channel. No more Spanish music in background. Will not be back. Place seems dated & dirty. After all, how clean can it be, with such sort staffing? Where are all the staff, that used to work at establishments? Is this a chain operated issue? Or poor management?
