Papa Rellena with Asada - Baked potato loaded with grilled steak
    Mark S.

New spot here in Pinckney, just opened this week. Excellent food! Some really delicious options not easily found in our area. We tried the Chilaquiles with Asada, the Papa Rellena baked potato with Asada and the Quesa Birrias tacos. All were very very good. Friendly service with a smile. Smaller spot, 9 tables and a counter to eat at as well. They have been super popular during this first week so typical growing pains as they come up to speed and doing a serious carry-out business. 5 stars, can strongly recommend this place. I've been back twice already and it will be a regular spot for me. Wishing them all the best as they settle in!

This restaurant just opened (in the location of the former Aunt Betty's) in downtown Pinckney. At the time of this review, they hadn't even gotten their sign out on the building yet! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, your search ends here. The food portions are filling and priced about typically for this area (Brighton, Dexter, etc). The service is fast and friendly! Everyone seats themselves and menus with chips + salsa are brought to your table. After the order is put in, you can see the food being prepped in the open kitchen area if seated at the bar. The interior of the restaurant is clean, with bright lighting, 3 tvs, and about 10 tables as well as bar seating. Colors are vibrant and cheery for Michigan grey weather lol Our food was amazing. We have been back twice in two days and have tried chimichangas, carnitas and steak tacos. All were flavorful, fresh ingredients and I can recommend all of them without hesitation. Please go support this local business and enjoy some of the best authentic Mexican food you'll ever have!

He did this because the standard meat portions are pretty small, but the flavors are fantastic!! I got the veggie burrito and I loved it as well. Service was great and it was very nice inside. After our burritos, we got ice cream from the ice cream counter and their portions are HUGE! My husband got a medium with Cookie Monster and strawberry cheesecake and I got a small ferrero rocher ice cream. They were phenomenal and I genuinely can't stress enough how much they fill the cups with ice cream. Amazing flavors and really kind customer service at the ice cream counter as well. I really recommend Dos Hermanos Express. You will love it!

I'm big on ordering enough for multiple meals so I went with the nachos and a kid's steak quesadilla and got 3 meals out of the deal! The kid's portion came with two mini quesadillas and a side of rice and they were definitely generous with the steak portions! They had hearty chunks of steak, perfectly cooked and seasoned, surrounded by a nice melty cheese. Really tasty! For my nachos I went with the carnitas though I think they may have accidentally given me the al pastor as I bit into more than a few chunks of pineapple, which honestly was not my favorite when blended with the other elements of the nachos. I'd definitely get them again but I think I'd pick a different protein just in case. Probably the steak since it was so good in the quesadillas. I went through less than half of the nachos since they were a huge portion and tucked away the rest in the fridge for the next day. Sure, nachos don't always reheat great but I tossed mine under the broiler to crisp everything back up and then added some fresh chips on the side and it was perfect. I still had a few leftovers even after that and took the rest of it and added an egg on top for a makeshift chilaquiles dish! Pretty good! My one regret was not trying the churros but I'll definitely be doing that the next time!

It feels like we are clubbing in here. Can't have a conversation really. The corn chips are not fresh, could be better if they were freshly made. I want the chips to be good. The elote seems to be mixed with the queso, which is really runny. It tastes better, but could be thicker. The guacamole is average, not a lot of flavor to it. Main food orders in after about 15 minutes after we were seated. The flautas are super dry, the chicken that is. The chicken isn't even jerky like, just bark like burnt. The lobster quesadilla tastes rather interesting. On closer examination after the odd texture of the lobster, it had the strangest layers to it, reminds me of the Krab. Something quite odd about their lobster for sure, comes across to me as imitation meat. Hard to describe how weird it was to me, has completely left me at a loss and utterly confused. Meat doesn't have the chew I expected at all, mostly disintegrated in my mouth without biting it and the odd layers really threw me off exceedingly. My husband asked our waitress about the nature of the lobster meat to Nikki. She asked the kitchen if the lobster meat in the quesadilla and enchiladas was real lobster meat. The kitchen of course said yes, it is. I wouldn't have expected anyone to say the lobster meat was imitation though. Such a strange meal and experience tonight.

He barely ate any of it and without us asking, our waiter kindly removed it from our bill. My husband said it was very plain and very bland beef and the cheese sauce on top tasted canned. It was also a small chimichanga, with the plate being mostly taken up by the rice, beans, and salad that came as a side. When we got there we weren't really greeted either so it started off without great customer service. It also was not busy at all but we almost left before even ordering because nobody came by to take our order for a substantial amount of time. Eventually he did come and take our order and the food came out really quickly so that was nice. My food was great- I ordered option D off the vegetarian menu which included a bean burrito, cheese quesadilla, and chalupa. I cleaned my plate! It was flavorful and a really generous portion. I also liked the chips and salsa that they serve when you're seated. Overall we won't be back.

The menu looks great. NYE and the bar wasn't full. We sat at the bar and ordered an appetizer and two drinks. I also asked for the house salsa. Idk if it's different but it's definitely delicious. The bartender was pretty slow for the place not being busy but he was nice. Idk where he kept going but he was away from the bar more than he was there. The drink was a bit smaller than I expected but good enough.
