I don't leave reviews much, but I have to share a very negative experience with this establishment just to get it off my chest. Let me preface by saying that we have been going to Lost Oak for many years and have been members in the past. We typically go with large groups and have spent literally thousands of dollars of our own money here not to mention the amount of money spent by others with us. We attended a paid event this evening and after the event was over and everyone was packing up to leave, one of the bartenders came to our table and grabbed a bottle of outside wine off of our table and said we couldn't bring outside wine in "legally" and she had to confiscate it. There was barely anything left in the bottle, so I don't care about the loss, but the encounter was rude and embarrassing to our group. We had purchased 5-6 bottles of Lost Oak wine during the event and had brought a couple of extra bottles in with food and water. Had no idea that outside wine is prohibited because it isn't communicated anywhere on the lawn, at least not where readily visible. Maybe it is general knowledge, but the way it was handled completely tainted the whole of an otherwise enjoyable evening. It will be a very long time before I return, if ever, and certainly will not be bringing groups of friends or recommending it to others. There are just too many other options for wineries in Texas where I have never had this type of experience. Unfortunate for the owners/managers to be so poorly represented by an employee. read more

Gorgeous venue. If it was a little closer I'd be going to their wine bar all the time. Whether you sit inside or outside the atmosphere is stellar, all cozy and comfortable like an open, welcoming house out on an open, welcoming ranch. Or in this case, a vineyard. I can see why this is a popular local spot for events and weddings. First of all, you have a ton of space to work with, including a really large covered patio complete with white twinkle lights. Whether you're looking at the vineyard or creek or grassy field, you've got a pretty view on all sides. Second of all, they make amazing wine here. What's better than that? The selection and prices are quite varied and unique, and there's definitely something for everyone. Lost Oak puts on several events throughout the year, so be sure to follow them on social media or their website. It's only a 35 minute drive (with no traffic) from Fort Worth, which really isn't bad at all when the destination is so fantastic. read more

So today is Mother's Day weekend and my mother was coming in to town to visit. I am really bad at gift giving to girls, let alone to my own mother...(tip: no lady likes swords). So luckily she said she always wanted to visit a winery, which was weird because she never drinks wine and my "go to" drink before blacking out and waking up on someone's roof is bourbon, but we decided to be adventurous! Visiting their website, I sent in my reservations for a tour (via email) which unfortunately, they didn't receive. But luckily, it wasn't packed, we arrived early and after the mix up, our taste guide made it up in Grace, Style and Fun and a alternative option to better our experience. VIOGNIER - was our first taste and the best, better than the other four (including Dolce Rouge and Girls Are Meaner, not at all enjoyable to us both). Different strokes for different folks. Plus, they don't do the whole taste, enjoy and spit in a bucket gig, you swallow! They allowed us to take our glass of Viognier on our self guided tour and talked with a mother/daughter team in the barrel room, very informative and casual (on the whim conversation from us). Though the "vineyard" was small it was a great start for us. However, I would recommend bigger, better, brighter signage for the "private residence", though given a map, we lose our selves in exploration and adventure and we tend to forget we have a map in our possession. His expression of our presence was the bump in our day, even after we apologized. Any who, we drank on and shrugged him off. We finished our day with a bottle of Viognier and the cheese & meat platter, very tasty and the Goat cheese with cranberries & the garlic and herb cheese was AMAZING! However, if you all are chocolate addicts, be prepared to sword fight (if your son got you that gift), because we only got 2 chocolate covered pretzels!? But the platter is well enjoyed with variety and plentiful for two. Unfortunately, I didn't catch our taste guide's name, but she was AMAZING, she was a pretty Caucasian lady, with big hair and a big smile and very friendly and patient. This place is an absolute hidden gem. I say "hidden" because if everyone in Fort Worth (and the DFW area) knew about this place it would have well over 50 reviews. You can tell a lot of locals come here and many people bring their dogs and kids. I decided to host a little bachelorette party here after searching around for vineyards or even just cool wineries in the area. A couple of my friends who are from Burleson recommended this place. It's definitely a bit out of the way from Fort Worth and we had issues getting an Uber from the winery (so have a back up plan for transportation). We went in June when the vines were bright green and it was beautiful. The property is big and spacious and is perfect for hosting events. I would definitely come on a nice day because their outside area is the best part. They have a covered patio opened to the outside vines and scattered tables throughout the lawn. They also have a walking path and tons of cute spots for photos. I came back just a week ago for my birthday and it was totally different with the winter vines, but still beautiful and pretty great local wine! read more

My mom, aunt, sister and I visited this winery on a Sunday. We had a tour reservation at 1pm. We walked in and checked it for our tour the lady at the bar told us we could wine taste while we waited for our tour guide, we tasted a few wines and then started the tour. It took a good 45 minutes walking the grounds and learning about how wine is made. We walked back to the tasting room and tasted 6 different wines!!! Our tour guide Ms. Sherry was very fun and answered our questions and told us a little about each wine. Afterwards we went outside to the porch to listen to some live music and ate some gourmet cheese and more wine!!! We had a blast we did not want to leave, we are already planning our next outing! Absolutely Beautiful winery. We went on a tour during late September, probably not the best time to go since not that many grapes are in season but none the less very beautiful. Our tour guide was wonderful and apologetic that some of the building had yet to be finished building yet so there was much walking in mud. Which is fine. I wore my cowboy boots. I love Lost Oak Winery! I've been visiting since there was a yelp event here a few years ago! It is such a beautiful winery and I love that it is family friendly! Most recently I've been visiting and using the tasting groupons which are an excellent deal! For around $20 you can get four wine tastings and two cheese plates. It's a great deal and the cheese plates are yummy and filling, with an assortment of nuts, dried fruit, hard, soft, and spreadable cheeses, salami, and crackers. The Groupon also comes with two small plastic totes and four bottles of water. If you do the tasting, I recommend you ask to sit down in the tasting room. If you do it standing up it can feel kind of rushed. But sitting down at a table and taking your time is the best! Without the Groupon glasses of wine typically run about eight dollars and the wine tasting itself is five dollars for 5 1-oz pours which is still a good deal! While you sip on your wine or your bottle of wine, you can walk the grounds of the winery. It is so beautiful! You can see the vines and there's lots of seating by the little creek and also out on the patio, and there's also a bridge near their newly built wedding venue. You can also ask for a little laminated map and it'll show you a map of the winery for a self-guided tour. They often have events throughout the year and events are very affordable and again, family friendly! During my most recent visit I brought my mom here for a winetasting and my little sisters had their own table with a cheese plate and I brought them sodas and they played outside while we did the tasting. It is so relaxing and worth the drive out to Burleson! read more

My fiancé was in town and we decided to try something new. We had no idea that Burleson had a Winery which is why we decided to check it out. It was what I expected and more! You can do wine tasting for $5 and that includes a tasting of 5 different wines. We also got a plate which had cheese, crackers, grapes, salami, peanuts and dried fruit for the very cheap price of $13. We also purchased a bottle for about $20 dollars. You can either sin inside, patio or take your bottle and glasses of wine on a trail walk and have a picnic on the trails. They do have a tour but you have to make a reservation within 48 hrs in advanced, which is why we didn't do the tour. There is a Groupon for this place and it's very cheap. I recommend this place you will have a blast and won't regret it. read more

I am not a wine drinker so my review is definitely not for the drinks. However, the ambience, staff, and scenery is gorgeous. I went for a birthday party and enjoyed wine tasting and walking the grounds. My friends liked the wine and ordered bottles (I stuck with water). There was a wedding party in the other building near the pond and from what I could tell it was a beautiful set up and having all those windows facing the pond and bridge made it even more pretty for pictures. If you want an outside birthday party, cocktail hour, or wedding this spot would be beautiful for a small intimate get together. read more

My first experience with Lost Oak was at the Summer Solstice Yelp event. They were a vendor and had yummy wine for us to sample. The lady at the table mentioned that they were having live music Fourth of July weekend and that we should come out. It sounded like fun, so my mom and I ventured out for a little bit of Motown and the oldies while sitting on the lawn sipping wine. Lost Oak is located in Burleson, which is pretty far south in DFW. Once we arrived, we were directed to the parking area. Everything was very well organized and the parking attendants were both friendly and helpful. We parked, grabbed our lawn chairs, and headed to the area where the event was taking place. In search of wine, we went indoors and discovered that they were offering samples before you settled on a bottle of wine. My mom and I tried the sweet flight of wine and settled on a bottle of Riesling, which was delicious. The band was great and played pretty late. There were people dancing on the small dance floor and everyone was having a great time. Due to the long drive home and possible traffic with a mass exodus, my mom and I opted to leave a bit early. Lost Oak was such a fun outing and I would love to go back for a tasting and tour. Until I can visit again, I'm going in search of their wine at Spec's. read more

Lone Oak Winery is a small, newer winery. They have some tables outside and the potential to branch out. They don't make many wines but what they do make is very good. I am a big fan of their Dolce Rouge.. a sweet red Italian style table wine. Its very smooth and not dry. Me no likey dry wine although they do have a dry red available if that's your thing. They carry a very nice white from Haak vineyards too. Stop by, taste some wine, pet the dog. When I was there I bought a case and the owner insisted on carrying it to my car for me. I "met" Lost Oak Winery at their 4.0 Cellars collaboration out in Fredericksburg this summer and knew I had to make a stop at their actual winery when in Burleson. Fate finally allowed me enough time in the Fort Worth suburb to stop by for a bottle the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The winery is tucked only a few minutes away from Burleson High School (oh the memories of SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE! blaring from the stadium during warm ups!), and is an easy 20-30 minute drive from downtown Fort Worth (if there's no traffic on 35). The tasting room is a little small, but the ladies at the counter were very nice and helpful. There's a larger patio area, but fortunately they ***allow dogs in the tasting room*** so we didn't have to sit out and shiver in the cold :) (I do think they have heaters out there, had we had to sit outside) Also, they have a banquet room to the other side of the tasting room, where they can accommodate larger tasting parties. They offer tours, which it seemed like you had to sign up for in advance (and they attracted several groups, I was impressed), but they invited us along, too. We decided to stay camped out with our bottle of red roan, though, instead. One thing I was particularly impressed with was how much support they had from the local community. We were there the weekend of the wine club member's monthly pick up, and the volume of bags ready for pick up was very large, and they had a steady stream of members all day. Austin has really spoiled me when it comes to great local businesses to support, and I've long felt other Texas cities are not as supportive of local businesses as Austin is, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that is not so at Lost Oak. A note to Yelp--not sure why this place is listed with so many $$$$. It's very moderately priced, wines range from $15-35, the bottle we had was about $23. Not bad for a long afternoon of conversation with my number one person. Lastly, since it's the holiday season, they are open most days for tastings through the holidays, perfect for bringing holiday company out for some wine! Check their website for days and hours before you go, but chances are good it will be open. They were even open Black Friday, and apparently sold out of a few of their favorites! I visited Lost Oak this past weekend with some girl friends. The weather was amazing so we brought a picnic and planned to stay for a while, I'm so glad we did! We started off with a tour which was just us so that was very cool. I thought our tour guide's name was Dwayne but one of the other girls thought it was Wayne, either way he was great! I've never had a tour like this, usually it is just about the actual process but he knew a lot about the botany aspects and the way insects could effect the grapes etc. We also got to have a sip from one of the tanks that has yet to be bottled. This was so cool! I've been to vineyards/wineries all over Texas, California and Italy and never had this happen. It was a white wine that I normally don't care for but it smelled so good and tasted so good. Can't say enough good things. Lots of seating room both covered or out on the property, they had a guitar player entertaining us and the staff couldn't have been nicer. We actually did our tasting at a table, but they were pretty busy and it took over a hour. We were having fun but were ready to pick a wine and buy something to take outside and needed to get through the tasting to be able to do that! Our staff person actually made it up to us by giving us a bottle of wine, can you believe it, customer service is alive and well! The tastings were $5 a piece, which I think is very reasonable, it's gotten much higher in the hill country. I liked a lot of the wines and they had an interesting variety. They had a pretty packed calendar of a variety of different activities that all sounded fun. Overall, I would definitely visit this place again when I'm in the area. read more
