Our party of 6 toured the winery today. Our volunteer guide Dwayne was very knowledgeable and friendly. He shared about the history of Texas wines, the obstacles of growing grapes, the grape vines and the pressing of the grapes. It was informative and fun. In the tasting room we had the opportunity to choose 5 wines from a list of about 18 ( give or take a few) and taste them, along with a very nice fruit and cheese tray. It was a fun afternoon and I would recommend it to anyone. There are also different events at the winery, music etc. on designated dates. Thanks Lost Oak Winery. :) read more

Great location for anyone-alone just relaxing or for family events, you can bring your doggies too which is awesome bonus-lots of grass area to run w/o bothering anyone. Wine is a bit pricey, but my husband and I were impressed that they do have their own Port. Food-sadly disappointed. There is a food truck, which I think is progressive and cool, however, this was not one of those types of food trucks with the modern/twist/fusion/creative menus-just nachos and average boring fare like that at this location. I can't believe this cute little gem is in our neighborhood! My husband and I recently moved into town and decided to try out the wine tasting at lost oak and it was amazing! The wine was really good. My husband bought a bottle of the moscato and I got a bottle of their cabernet. Crazy it was only $77 for the wine tasting, cheese/meat platter and two bottles! Stephen did such an amazing job of explaining all of the wines and was a such a pleasure getting to speak with! He definitely added to our pleasant experience. They also said its kid and dog friendly, so we can't wait to go back with our dog and kiddos! read more

We drove an hour to visit this winery today. I had family visiting and we wanted to experience something different. Lost Oak delivered there for sure, it was definitely...different. To start our day at the winery, we purchased wine tastings. The lady who helped us was extremely rude, unprofessional and was not knowledgeable of any of the wines. We asked questions about the wine selections and were repeatedly told "I don't know" to describe most of what she wasn't reading off of the menu description. The purpose of a wine tasting is to market your wine selections, tell history/origin of your wines or notes, provide tours of the grounds (if you have a vineyard like this one does) and if you're lucky, encourage a sale of the wine. The wines were lackluster and was the service. We tried to make the best of it and all took a shot in the dark to try new wines which weren't on the wine tasting list. We asked the lady employee for suggestions of wines and of course, she "didn't know". Trying to make the best of the trip, we took our glasses of wine outside on the patio and ordered a cheese tray. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, it certainly did. The $16 cheese tray (see photo) was handed to us hand wrapped in Saran Wrap. We received nuts in a zip lock bag with one mini chocolate pretzel inside. The cheese was dry and old and it was just disgusting. After this, we gathered our things along with our excitement and headed to another winery. The day ended well but thanks to Lost Oak, it didn't start that way. Needless to say, we won't be returning or recommending. read more

We stopped here to try some local Texas wines. The wines were good and the service great. Tastings are $8.00 each. However, we were disappointed in the tasting process. You can only choose from two pre-selected lists of four wines each, Dry or Sweet. We decided to purchase one of each. My husband prefers reds; I prefer whites. Of the 8 wines we tried most were whites. The pours were a bit smaller than we've had at other wineries. Also, this is the first winery we visited with a pre-set list. Other wineries make their entire list available, so you can try what you like and enjoy each one sufficiently. While we enjoyed it, the experience was over too soon. read more

We really like the wines here and the service is pretty good. The cheese board isn't half bad but that being said we do wish the menu there was more extensive (not a big enough deal to knock it down a star-after all it is a WINERY) The wines had a nice range of sweet-dry and red-white and full body-light so really something for everyone. The tasting room is a good size and very comfortable. The hiking trails, stream and outdoor space are the big selling points here in terms of atmosphere. You can hike up and down the property and it is GORGEOUS. You can also drink wine right by the stream area on lovely bistro tables. Do try the ports! They are phenomenal! read more

This is normally a nice place but I had a weird experience this evening. After a few tastings (most of the wines are blends) my cousin and I brought a bottle to an outside table and enjoyed it while chatting near another couple at another outside table. At about 9:30 pm one of the women on staff came out and took our empty bottle and a bucket and turned out all the lights. We asked if they were closing and she said they closed at 9 pm. We thought they stayed open later on a Friday night. A 5 min warning would have been appreciated but nope, she just shut off all the outdoor lights while customers were still there drinking wine at the tables in the pitch black dark. What sensible business let's people drink on their property then turns all the lights off at night leaving them to walk to their cars across the acreage of their vineyard up a hill to the parking area? Ridiculous. read more

It's nice to have a decent winery nearby! It's not the best wine I've ever had, but they have some good solid reds, a nice port, and a really nice dry white. If you are a fan of the sweeter wines, they have those too. Their wine of the month club is also a great deal, and the staff at this place could not be any nicer (they even give you chocolate!). read more

My friends and I just left there and came to D'vine Wine. The Groupon we purchased was booked, so we did the $5 wine tasting. The tastes were a single sip, each of which was poured into the same glass. There were times when the white wine turned pink because they were mixed with the residual red that was from the prior tasting. We were also very rushed to drink our tastes. The whole experience lasted 20 minutes. So we headed to D vine Wine where we got true tastings and the time to enjoy them. read more

Went on a guided tour of their beautiful property with a group of friends this afternoon on a beautiful spring day! Our tour guide Sharkey was just amazing!! Very delightful and informative, learned more from her on our one hour walkabout then I did from a tour we had taken in Napa Valley. She explained every detail of the vines and their growing and pruning process, to how the barrels are constructed while touring the facility! Just delightful! Returned to the main building for a wine tasting of their most popular wines, served by a friendly, knowledgeable gentleman. An offer to purchase the wines was spoken, but absolutely no pressure, or hard sell tactic what so ever, although those in our group did buy bottles of the sweet grass, just FYI, it was our favorite! Overall this was just an enjoyable, relaxing afternoon with good friends at a beautiful local facility! I highly recommend it to everyone!!! read more

My son & his fiancée were married this weekend at Lost Oak Winery. I cannot begin to convey what a wonderful experience this was for all of us. First, the setting is gorgeous. It is a small winery with beautiful vineyards nestled near a small creek lined with large trees. Very peaceful and serene. But if you've spent any time at all looking for wedding venues in the DFW area, you will find there are several beautiful locations from which to choose. What puts Lost Oak in a league of their own is their fantastic wedding coordinator, Shelia, her attention to detail, and the level of service she provides. I truly believe she has wings a halo she keeps hidden somewhere. From the first meeting with her to the night of the wedding as we told her good-bye, every single detail was handled professionally and kindly. It didn't matter what our requests were, her answers were either, "yes you can" or, "I will be happy to". The wedding rehearsal was organized and handled in very timely fashion. The flow of the wedding and reception was spot on. She offered suggestions on local vendors and each one that she recommended did a great job. She also assisted with deliveries of the flowers, food and cake, making what could have been a very stressful day extremely pleasurable. She is truly a gem! The other staff members were just a cheerful and helpful as well. And, of course, the wine and sangria were great! They begin by giving a glass of wine to each guest as they arrive for the ceremony. What a nice touch! My husband (who isn't much of a wine drinker) loved the Texas Trio. If you visit, be sure to try a glass. All in all Lost Oak was a wonderful place to welcome our new daughter-in-law into our family. I can't wait to go back and just sit under the trees and chat over a bottle of wine with them. read more

Best wine on the Cross Timbers wine trail. It also has a fantastic deck and nice grounds including a small patio by a creek.

Some girlfriends and I had a girl's day here. It is such a great value for the tasting and you can bring your own food. We brought Subway and sonic and ate on the grounds. The wine is really good and the service is so friendly. You can choose to take a tour or you can walk on your own. We walked around and took pictures on our own and had a great time. We all decided on a bottle we liked and enjoyed it on the patio. I recommend it for couples or girlfriends! read more

I love this place! It has close to a hour and a half drive for me and it is well worth it. The staff and the owners could not be more welcoming. This is a great place to go with friends, and they have fun seasonal events. Also, I was interested in having a wedding here but unfortunately it was too far of a drive for the grooms side of the family. My son & his fiancé, now his lovely wife, got married at Lost Oak on Oct. 22, 2016. It's a beautiful venue. The surrounding grounds and water are beautiful & made incredible backgrounds for pictures. You're able to see the beautiful sunset as well. Sheila, the wedding coordinator did an amazing job. She was extremely helpful before the ceremony started to help us with anything we needed and she always had a smile on her face. During the ceremony she directed the wedding party & parents & made certain we started the ceremony when we were supposed to. During the reception she was always available to answer questions & provide us with whatever we needed to make certain everything went perfectly. I can't say enough positive things about Sheila & Lost Oak Winery. If you're looking for a wedding venue I highly recommend them. Ask for Sheila when you call. You will not be disappointed & they'll make certain your wedding will be a fabulous experience! This place is awesome to go and have a nice glass of wine but do not have a wedding here. The wedding coordinator did the absolute bare minimum at my cousins' wedding. There was zero organization on their part. The family members had no idea when and where they were supposed to be seated. Before booking this venue, the coordinator walked my cousin around telling her how beautiful the wedding spot would be showing her beautiful pictures. At the time it was winter and all we had to go by was photos of beautiful green grass and trees....needless to say, do not be fooled by the photos! My cousin walked down the aisle on dirt with fire ants crawling everywhere because the up keep of the land was horrible. When taking the top of my cousins' wedding cake off, the people in charge of serving it thought that it would be appropriate to dig their fingers into the body of the cake to break it loose. Things were promised to my cousins that were not delivered....for example...the patio doors were supposed to remain closed, they did not. A room full of strangers sat inside the bar and had complete access to my cousins wedding. They said that we had the venue until 10:30....but started throwing things away and picking up tables at 9:00. They also told us we could have the rehearsal dinner there 9 months prior to the actual date of the wedding but then decided to throw an event the night if our rehearsal and waited to tell us 2 weeks before the wedding leaving us stressed to find a new venue to have a rehearsal dinner. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! My cousin was devastated but what could she do after already paying for everything! Do not be fooled by their kindness at first, they just want your money and could care less about your special day. read more

BEAUTIFUL WEDDING VENUE. AMAZING STAFF. My husband and I worked with both Sheila (planning process) and Rachel (final decisions and the big day) to coordinate our wedding at the winery. Their attention to detail was amazing! Being so detail oriented, I appreciated having Rachel be on the same page as I was regarding final details and the day of the wedding. While I'm sure it's all in a day's work for them, I felt that Rachel and her staff went above and beyond for our big day, she was even gracious enough to give our top tablecloths a quick steaming when I felt that the fold lines were a little to pronounced for my preference. As guilty as I felt asking her to help with that, I couldn't be more thankful for her willingness to do so. Now on to the venue - so lovely! We purposefully booked our wedding when everything would be green and growing, and the setting did not disappoint! Not to mention their new events pavilion... just perfect for what we wanted. I worked for Lost Oak winery for about a year and a half back in 2008, which was actually more "fun" than work. I quickly became attached to the family and took on a sense of belonging. I always enjoyed my shifts, the scenery, the amazing wine and all the great customers! Back in July 2016 my boyfriend proposed to me and I immediately began planning our wedding. No other venue came to mind than Lost Oak Winery! Not only did I personally know how all weddings were planned and executed but the scenery is also magnificent. I was happy to learn that they had built a new pavilion for weddings and such. Wow, was I surprised at this grand structure!! Not only is it full of light, the beautify from the outdoors is brought in with all the windows. I must say they did an exquisite job with the plans of this building. We were happy to meet Sheila, our wedding coordinator. She helped me go through all the steps slowly and professionally. As a bride, you can be scatterbrained but Sheila helped me stay focused, on schedule and suggested things I had never thought of! We had a rather limited budget but with Sheila's help, you would think we had spent triple what we did!!! She was amazing to work with! Since our wedding, many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to. From the food, to our first dance which was choreographed to surprise our guests. Sheila also referred us to a phenomenal DJ who had everyone on the dance floor till the end. It was the PERFECT venue........ a night that no one will ever forget, especially for my husband and me. read more
