I'm gonna do everyone a huge favor that reads this TAKE YOUR VEHICLE SOMEWHERE...ANYWHERE ELSE!! I am not a young person so I've had the opportunity to work with several body shops over the years. I have never in my life seen such bad customer service. My daughter's car was drivable so we requested to bring the car in and let them evaluate what parts were necessary and then we'd bring the car back when parts were in. We were assured that securing parts would be no problem. That was July 23 and my daughter just picked her car up today, September 25. Insurance paid about half the rental car cost for 30 days and then it's been all out of pocket since then. No discount provided by the body shop for the long delay. The only thing they gave us were excuses. We have a great body shop in Kenedy but decided to use this one since my daughter lives in Smithville. Oh how much easier it would've been to drive over to Kenedy for the repairs. I'm not sure what is going on at this place but they've got problems. read more

Lost Pines Paint & Body - Great work - Body Shops Near Me - Bastrop, Texas

My vehicle was in the shop since October 9th, 2023, and I just received it back yesterday, February 8th, 2024. I would call weekly asking for updates and was told they were just waiting for parts. At the end of December, I was told by the shop they were just waiting on the insurance, so I started to reach out to my insurance. My insurance (USSA) reached out to me on January 3rd, 2024, saying they are unable to repair the vehicle, so they deem it a total loss. I called the insurance company and asked why it took so long for them to deem it a total loss; they informed me that the last supplemental form they received was December 29th, 2023. Shop informed me they sent out the supplement form before. I called the shop and informed them to put the vehicle back together because I was going to pick it up. The vehicle was still drivable. The shop informed me that once they received their check from the insurance company, they would release the vehicle to me. The insurance sent them a check for the teardown, admit fee, storage, and some parts not returnable. I called the shop, and Mike answered the owner and told me that there was still some money missing for some painted parts and we could've made a deal, but he jumped the gun and informed me he would keep the vehicle until he got his money from the insurance. I informed him that my insurance informed me they were not paying for what he was requesting. They sent the check out, and that was all they could do on their part. They (USSA) informed me that it was up to me to pay for what he was requesting in order for me to get back my vehicle. I paid for some fees. Four months without my vehicle and to get it back in worst condition, tore the clear coat on the hood from being left out for so long. Battery dead had to jump-start in front of the shop. Thank god I had jumper cables. Didn't put back the upper shield. First time ever doing a insurance claim, lesson learned just glad to have my vehicle back so I can get it fixed. read more

I would not recommend this shop. They put the wrong tailgate on my truck, and it does not open and close properly. They had to paint both side of the bed and did not fix the imperfections and now it likes there are dents on both sides. It's a Black Truck. Not sure why you would do that. It is supposed to be guaranteed for life, but I am not sure what that means if you're not happy with the work to begin with. read more

Had used Lost Pines on a couple of occasions in the past but my last visit turned into a nightmare. Vehicle was in an accident in July of 2016 and taken to Lost Pines, we got the car back in January of 2017. There was a one month national back order on one part that caused a delay initially but the several months that followed were all due to Lost Pines incompetence. Had to finally have the vehicle moved elsewhere to have the repairs made correctly. I doubt this facility could repair a Radio Flyer red toy wagon, it's that bad. Constant excuses, unreturned phone calls, they even applied payment on our claim to another claim and refused to return funds owed due to their mistake. Had to finally get insurance company involved and threaten legal action. Art & Able, you need to find another line of business because this was probably the worst example of vehicle repair and customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Here's an example: The very first time (of a dozen) we were told to come pick up the vehicle as it was clean and ready. Upon arriving we found the hood (area of damage) was not replaced correctly. So they took it to the back (beware of the back) to fix it. Instead of removing the bolts and lining up the hood they simply tried to bend it back into place putting a large crease in the hood making it worse than before. Then rolled it up to me and said, "Here you go! It's ready!". I looked at the hood and couldn't believe it, seriously? Plus the vehicle was filthy. This is just laziness, sheer laziness. When I looked inside the car, thinking it couldn't get any worse, it did. There were several deep scratches near the console area of the vehicle. When talking to them you can tell that they were aware of the issues, it's like they just were wishing we wouldn't notice. I don't have the time to go into every issue we experienced with this business, although business doesn't seem like the correct word to use for this place. I'll leave a few more examples of our experience: - Will not return calls to customer or insurance company. - Does not take ownership of issues within shop. Constantly blames other entities. - Uses aftermarket parts and charges for OEM parts. Shady business practices. - Takes shortcuts rather than fixing properly. Especially if it's around closing time. - Has no problem looking you in the eyes and lying. Caught staff in several untruths, several times. - Art, the owner is uncaring. Talked to him a couple of times after I emailed him. What he says he'll do for you and what he actually does are two different things. - Able, the guy you'll deal with the most simply doesn't seem to know his job or what he is doing. Constantly seemed lost in job and confused. Maybe that's where the lies would come from? Just unknowledgeable? - My insurance company (Statefarm) has not had any issues with anyone else I've dealt with, although, at Lost Pines they could never seem to get a straight answer. - Every time they had us come to check on vehicle and pick it up there was a new scratch or dent. Never successfully picked the vehicle up as we had to have it moved to a shop that could repair the damage. Not one of those times was the vehicle cleaned for pickup. Once the vehicle was moved to different shop and away from Lost Pines, all was good. It was like night and day. I had another vehicle lined up to go to this shop but after the service we received I would have been a fool to let them touch anything else. I rated this one star because zero stars was not an option. Avoid this business like the plague. read more

Took my car to this place after getting in an accident due to the crazy gusty winds we had a couple of months back in central Texas. I have full-coverage insurance as I'm still making payments on my vehicle, so the cost was covered except for my deductible (that's right, my first accident ever, and I'm about to turn 30). The insurance estimate said that the repairs would take 11 business days, so I had to wait until I was off work for the summer (I work for the school system) to take my car in. I dropped it off on the afternoon of Monday, June 13th. I just got it back yesterday, July 6th. Here are some of the issues I had: *When I dropped my car off, the friendly-seeming fellow who took the keys said that they would keep in touch with me about the progress on my car. Mind you, I didn't ask for this, he offered this up upon receiving the keys. *When I hadn't heard anything by Friday, June 17th, I called the shop. The fellow who I spoke to said that they had had all the needed parts but one (which was a large part comprising most of the side of the car) in stock, so my car would be ready late on Tuesday the 21st or early on Wednesday the 22nd. I was really happy because that was so many less days of being stuck at home and carless than I had expected. *I called on the morning of the 22nd since I again hadn't heard anything (notice a theme here?) and was told that the part had arrived damaged but another was coming shortly, and that the car should be ready on the 24th. *On the 24th I called again. I was told that the part had been ordered from the supplier 4 or so times and had arrived damaged each time, so the shop was going to contact my insurance to see if they could use a new supplier. *So I called again on the 27th and was told that my insurance had agreed and a new part was on it's way and would be there later that day or on the next day. I asked how long it would be until I got my car back, and was told that it'd take all week. This confused me because back on the 22nd I was told that installation of this part took only two days. I told the person I spoke to that I needed my car ASAP because, due to the very quick time estimate I was given by the body shop, I had agreed to do some contract work the last week of June and first week of July, but was now seemingly unable to fulfill that. I also stated that I had never received any telephone updates as I was promised, and said that I needed to have such updates so that I would know how repairs were progressing. The guy I spoke to said he would personally contact me to do this (after offering to email instead, which I said wasn't preferable since I might as well receive phone calls, being stuck at home with no car) every other day. He said that they would work as fast as they could but that most likely my car wouldn't be ready until Friday the 1st, as after the part was installed the car would need to be painted. *Someone called me on Wednesday the 29th and told me that the car would indeed be ready Friday afternoon (7/1). That was the only call I ever received from Lost Pines Paint and Body. I said I'd be out of town on the afternoon of the 1st, and asked if it was a certainty that the car would be ready on the next business day after that (July 5th, due to the holiday). The person I spoke to said there was no way it wouldn't be ready, so I told him I'd be there to pick the car up at noon on that day. He said he'd still call on 7/1 to let me know the car was ready. *I received no call on 7/1 but since I was on vacation, didn't call the shop to find out why. I figured they'd just neglected to call as usual. *I called on the morning of 7/5, and of course, the car wasn't ready. I asked why and was told that the bumper that they had was the wrong one and therefore the correct one needed to be ordered from Toyota and therefore my car wouldn't be ready until the afternoon of 7/6. It wasn't until after I hung up that I realized that this made no sense because a.) I was told that all of the parts except for one were already available at the shop, so the folks had apparently been mistaken about the needed bumper from the beginning; and b.) I had been told that the car was being painted on 6/30 and 7/1, which... wouldn't the bumper problem have to have been realized before then, since it'd be part of what was painted? *So 7/6 was the big day I was to get my car. I had to borrow my mom's car to get to work on that day, since my car wasn't supposed to be ready until the afternoon and I had an appointment at 10am. By 4:15pm or so, I still hadn't gotten a call saying my car was ready, so I called and was told that, oh yeah, my car would be ready in 45 minutes or so. *So my car is back now. The rearview mirror vibrates a whole lot more than it did before I took it in (even post-accident), and the trunk is rattle-y but I can't figure out why. With all of the trouble I had in getting it back from this place, I guess I'm lucky those are the only problems. read more

After getting into a minor accident we brought our car here and was told it would be one week and was told they would call us well one week went by and no call when we called to see if it was ready we were told the wrong part came in and they would have to order another one well another week went by no call from them when we called them to see if it was ready another excuse was the part came in but had a defect so they would have to order another one but it should be ready in a couple of days well one week turned into over a month they had our car after getting it back we had to take it back five times and they still couldn't get it right so we finally just took it to the dealership and paid again to have it done right what a nightmare dealing with this company horrible service and horrible work I would not recommend this company at all read more

We have had a horrible experience with Lost Pines that is still not resolved. They originally told us the repair would take 2 - 3 days. It was several days before they even started working on it and it has now been there for 17 days. Two insurance adjusters have said that a part does not need to be replaced and Lost Pines refuses to fix it. The adjuster was there a week ago today and not one thing has been done on the car since. I am so sorry we took the car there. Lost Pines has not even called my mom one time since it's been there to give her updates. She always has to call them and then they are rude to her and don't understand why she's upset with them. We used them several years ago and they did fine but I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone else. read more

Being new to the area, a tow truck driver suggested I use this shop after getting sideswiped off the road in Smithville. I have regretted going with his recommendation every day now since getting my car back. Not only did the repairs take over a month - with the no call/update, and no return call once the time frame for repairs expired -much like the other's comments here, but when I picked up my car, there were additional damages to the bumper that weren't even there before! I am now in the getting-the run-around- world of trying to prove and argue and call this person/ call that person to find out how to get this additional repair done without having to pay for it (never mind the accident happened almost three months to the day ago and I cannot believe I am STILL dealing with this) but this isn't even the worst of it! During the close to 40 days it took for my car to be repaired, I was using a rental car arranged for me by the insurance company. About a week after returning the car, Enterprise calls me to "bring me into the loop" on a balance of $264.45 that is not being paid by the insurance company - Lost Pines Paint &Body also refused to pay the balance. Confused about what I had to do with this and totally caught off guard, I ended up spending the afternoon doing research to find out why I am being held responsible for paying for what was referred to as an "extension" on the rental, or, an additional 10 days of vehicle rental. I was informed by my assigned adjuster that any extension of time due to unexpected delay in repairs required additional paperwork and approval from the insurance company and that Lost Pines P&B had failed to ask for such an extension. The person at LPP&B said he'd call the adjuster to find out what's going on...I hear nothing back (as per usual) and upon calling in and leaving a message with him after Christmas, I have to call back the next day (because...you guessed it, no return call) I learn that the man I had been explaining all of this to (additional bumper repairs included) was no longer with the company. Awesome. So now I am talking to a new person at LPP&B that isn't getting back to me about both issues. As requested, I emailed her a picture of the damages to my car, and a copy of the bill I received from Enterprise. That was now 8 days ago so I went ahead and disputed the charge on my credit card and am waiting for any possible resolution on that. Meanwhile, I called yesterday and got that she is going to "get with the owner of LP P&B when he returns from vacation at the end of the week" to discuss the issue. Why there has been no discussion with the owner over the previous week while I waited on an update, I'm not sure... I'll update this if anything gets resolved. Just wow. read more

I guess I'm not the only one this happened to. I'm going on 3 weeks now waiting for my bumper to get painted and installed. Like the previous post, I have called to check up on my car and was told Arthur would return my call. Well I never got a call from him once. I am always the one to have to call and see the progress on my car. Each week they have told me it would be ready by the following week...they have pushed the due date 4 times now and I still haven't received my car or a phone call...I'm sure if I never went in person to see what the deal was I would be left lost in the sauce. This is very unprofessional of them and honestly I'm nervous about the quality of work they will leave me with. They have had ample amount of time to fit paint and install my bumper...This is all getting paid through my insurance because I had hit a deer which is why I think they are dragging ass on my car because they're getting paid regardless. If you want your vehicle to sit in a shop for a long weeks not getting worked on (or maybe just touched once in the week for about an hour), or if u don't want your phone calls returned nor updates on the progress then this is the place for you. But if ur like the rest of us that want our vehicles worked on and returned in a timely manner with some sort of professionalism then I suggest a different shop read more
