This is the only place in town I bring my vehicles for oil changes. They're a sister garage of Rush Automotive (located behind MainLane) and they both do great automotive work! MainLane is only open on weekdays so I usually make an appointment to get an oil change. Although they do great work, it will still take about an hour for an oil change (even with an appointment). They also do "peace of mind" inspections and caught an issue with our truck's CV axil recently and was able to get the parts ordered and fixed the very next day. I'm overall very satisfied with this company and will continue to use the for all of my vehicle needs. read more

Good prices, but they tried to upsell me. I keep full synthetic oil in my van, and it had only been about 8k miles since my last oil change- about 500 miles more than I usually go, but still 2k less than the manufacturer recommends. First they tried to say I was 5k over the recommendation (probably based on an old Valvoline sticker- Valvoline stickers recommend a change every 3k miles as a default). When I reminded them it was full synthetic, they said well maybe it's only 2-3k over then. They said they recommend changing oil every 5k regardless if it's synthetic because "the dealership says 10, but they want your car to break down after your warranty expires". They showed me medium brown oil on a sheet of paper and tried to panic me into a whole engine oil flush talking about how dark it was. Among other things, they also suggested a $316 new battery, and a $195 washdown for an "undetermined fluid leak". I've checked my batteries recently myself and they were both fine. My van itself also monitors the main battery voltage when the van is on, and it's saying it's fine right now. I'll keep an eye on them, but they didn't even know there were two or where the second one was, so the whole conversation felt weird. All in, I declined $653.39 worth of upsells on the $89.12 oil change I came in for. I'm not saying they're bad mechanics, but it certainly seemed like they were trying to take advantage of someone they knew they wouldn't see again. The only way I got them to leave me alone about it was telling them I couldn't afford it. Just saying no wasn't enough. read more

I was a lifelong customer until yesterday when I came to get an oil change for my son's low profile vehicle which has been getting maintenance there for over 6yrs now and was just there January, is now being told by the new store manager that he is unable to perform the job. That tells me you are no longer hiring skilled employees and my trust in them is no longer there. The last 2 visits before this one I have noticed a high turnover in employees and the quality of customer service is no longer there. You have lost both my son and my business and will no longer maintenance any of our vehicles again and no longer will recommend this business to anyone again. read more

I love being happily surprised, and I was indeed delighted by the competence and kindness Jace and Juan graced me with. The "peace of mind" inspection that comes with their very reasonably priced standard oil change got me back on the road with the reassurance I needed (as well as budget friendly suggested fix for my squeaky windshield wipers). Best place in Bastrop to get an oil change. If you time it just right, you can be in and out on no time.

Been doing business with Main Lane for a lot of years, and while the staff has always been friendly and nice, it's just too slow. I went in for an oil change, and the lady tells me it will be about an hour. Not great, but I was already there, so I checked in and took a seat outside. The waiting room was full. An hour and 15 minutes later, my vehicle hasn't been moved from where I parked it. So I went in to check and she tells me that 'I'm next', and that things are slow because they only have one lane open. I think I should have probably been told that to begin with, and 1 hour was obviously an optimistic estimate. I told her no thanks, picked up my keys and drove to another nearby oil change facility. I was in and out of there in 30 mins. It WAS a higher price, but my time is worth something too. Probably won't go back to Main Lane unfortunately, the long wait for anything seems to be the norm there now. read more

Review is just for prices; can't speak to quality of the work because I didn't move forward after the diagnostic. Highly recommend knowing something about your vehicle and what is wrong with it before you take it in here. That's all I'll say on the matter. For a couple hundred dollars worth of parts I was able to fix something myself with a friend for what they'd quoted me nearly $2000 to do - I knew what needed to be done I just didn't have the time. I ended up making the time. It took us three hours and we aren't professionals. IMHO their quote was essentially a gouge. Just do your due dilligence. read more

Staff is very professional and friendly here. Good prices. I've gone for both inspection and oil change and no problems with either. The wait can be incredibly long, however, 45 minutes for inspection to an hour or more for an oil change. Their lobby doesn't seat nearly enough people who are trying to get out of the weather. They should throw out the fancy chairs and put in the plain lobby office chairs and they could probably fit 3x as many customers in the lobby who are trying to get out of the bad weather. That said, I still go here because the service and staff are great. read more

We have used MainLane a few times now and they have been great. They get VERY busy so I would 100% suggest you call in advance and schedule an appointment or give yourself plenty of time to wait. They have a few chairs inside to wait in and I was there about 45 minutes getting my oil changed along with a few other small items and that was after I scheduled. Other people walking in were having to wait longer. I will continue to use them as our goto for auto maintenance in Bastrop. read more

Update: 4 days after posting this review, we received a telephone call from the manager. He asked that we come in so that he could inspect the brake pads himself. We did, and he did. He agreed with my analysis that there was 4mm +/- left on the pads. He said his tech (one of his longer employees and better techs) inspected them incorrectly (using a mirror, viewing from the front of the brake assembly) and because he couldn't really see the pads clearly he guessed at the amount of wear left. His techs do not work on commission, so nothing personal to gain for him. I am pleased that the manager took the time to follow up with us; however, I am still leery of work done here given the explanation of what happened. I guess that the moral of this story is that you can have lube jobs done here, but you need to be attentive to both the work and any recommendations. ====================================================== I cannot, in good faith recommend this place. My wife took her car there for a routine oil/filter change. They told her that the rear brake pads needed to be replaced -- for about $500.00. They said that there was 1mm left on the pads. I had her decline. When she got home I pulled the wheels and prepared to replace the pads; however, they did not need replacing. The chirping / warning device makes contact at 2mm, and there was about another 2mm left before the chirping device made contact with the rotor. I then checked the front, thinking maybe they meant the front pads; however, the front pads have more than 8mm remaining. My wife watched the service through the window. They did not remove the wheels so I don't have any idea how they determined how worn the pads were, unless it was just a guess based on the mileage - just over 100,000. We are looking for a different lube / oil change service location. read more

Very friendly young lady who kept us apprised of the progress of my car. All I was getting was a battery installed and it seemed to take forever. It was about an hour and a half to get the battery put in. I kept an eye on the vehicle and kept wondering why no one was working on it. My vehicle suddenly was finished when I asked how much longer. The waiting area has maybe five or six huge seats, theater style, theater size gigantic seats. The waiting room is not built for such large chairs, it's a tight fit in there. Located outside are 3 or 4 picnic tables under nice shade trees. That's where we sat and were comfortable on a warm breezy September day. It's a busy place, so get there early. read more

I chose Main Lane for an oil change based on the positive reviews, but my experience was anything but positive. We parked and went inside, checked in, left my keys and went outside to wait in the July heat as the tiny waiting area (I believe there were only five seats) was full. While we waited, two trucks arrived after us and we watched as they were both serviced while our vehicle sat untouched. We finally had enough, retrieved our keys and went across the highway to Lost Pines Oil & Lube Center where we were immediately greeted by friendly staff when we drove up, service options were explained, the same service and price were offered as Main Lane, except we received a complimentary car wash and they offer $10 off before 10AM. They took our car in immediately, we were in and out and had two rock chips in my windshield repaired in about the same amount of time we waited for nothing at Main Lane. read more

My wife and I have been using Mainlane for our oil changes for about 2 years. We have always been happy with the service. One of the techs accidentally broke the cabin filter frame in her Kia Soul. I urged her to say something because the owners/managers would want to know. They immediately ordered another and offered to install it, no charge. Then I took my 3/4 ton work van in for 60,000 mile servicing. They did this for about what the dealer I bought it from charged. However, their service included key items, such as draining the transmission and replacing it's filter, that were not included in the dealer's price. If that weren't enough I recently took it in for an oil change and a brake squeak I've had for 2 years mysteriously disappeared after being serviced. During a time when they were slammed! Wow. An up-to-date oil change place that, if it makes you wait, you know EXACTLY why. My husband and I took a work truck there - the work truck needs an oil change about every three months. We had been going to Jiffy Lube - but they've changed hands about three times since last year. And they stole a cable from us - for a phone. Oh, and they spent three hours on my Mazda 6 because they couldn't get a bolt undone. But back to the subject - MainLane - you walk in and these two very hyper-active girls take your order.. My husband was put off originally (this was my idea to go here) because you had to park in a different place than the national oil change places... but you know, some husbands are just cranks... But then.. the woman takes our order, we sit down.. and wait (like all places like this).. and neither my husband or I thought the truck would pass - but it does.. they recommended issues be resolved (after an oil change request), but don't push the matter. They tell us what they are going to do and then do it. Their company located behind them - RUSH automotive, generally deals with larger trucks and such. So we were there and out pretty quickly - for these places. Professional, not the local mentality of 'well, you need THIS kind of oil because...' bull.. and to boot - every fifth oil change is free. Would NOT recommend this shop even in a pinch. Do not take your car here for anything besides the most basic tasks that you can complete yourself. Took a vehicle in for an overheating issue to have the coolant system cleaned, flushed, and filled. After receiving the vehicle back from them (MainLane) the coolant system was still seemingly untouched (looked just as bad/unclean as when it was dropped off). The coolant reservoir was actually overfilled, and the vehicle continued to overheat at a worse rate than before. I took it back to them after realizing this, to hopefully have the issue resolved and actually have the coolant system cleaned, flushed, and filled. Following dropping it off a second time, I receive a call from them saying the thermostat needed to be replaced. I asked specifically if they finished cleaning out the coolant system. They assured me over the phone (I can prove this through recorded calls) that the coolant system had been cleaned out and that this (the thermostat) was the culprit. Reluctantly, I allowed them to replace the thermostat. After receiving my vehicle back a second time, the vehicle continued to overheat again, and the coolant was now underfilled, not to mention they said they left my vehicle running for 3 HOURS in idle to make sure it wasnt overheating. Great, just cause more damage to my vehicle and waste my gas and definitely dont test the overheating under load (i.e, drive it to see if it overheats). Now for A 3RD TIME I have to bring it back to them. Spoke to a manager before leaving it that time, who basically said we'll keeping trying but we don't know. Said manager also said the thermostat was replaced because coolant was not flowing, when in fact the days prior to any involvement with MainLane when the issues first occurred, I personally added coolant to the system which resolved overheating at that time, and proves it was flowing. I end up receiving a call from MainLane again, stating they want to take on roughly $4000 of repairs on my vehicle to fix the overheating issue, this included an intake manifold, radiator and both hoses, and labor. They originally told me the first time I brought it in to fix the manifold for something unrelated to the coolant system, now all of a sudden they're conflating one repair with another. Additionally, they still couldn't guarantee the issue would be fixed, and still the coolant system is just as bad as before. Not to mention the vehicle isnt worth the amount they wanted to charge for it. This is also exorbitantly high repair cost as the parts are roughly $300 and the work takes 1 person a few hours with basic hand tools to replace. All in all have to resort to completing it myself, or another shop to carry out the work. Thanks for nothing! read more

My suburban was left standing for several days over the holidays and died, so I jumped it and took it to Autozone. They fumbled with testing it and said you need a battery, but we can't install it. Then I went to MainLane. The battery tested perfect even though I told them I probably need one. Very honest people. I decided get my oil changed and only spent $75 for full synthetic out the door. Jiffy Lube was over $100 for the same service. I won't go anywhere else. read more

Took my 2017 Toyota Tacoma here for an oil change, waited over an hour when they said it would take 30 minutes. I parked my truck when I got home and a few hours later I noticed a large pool of oil under the truck.
