Wow. Such peace and quiet. And the people who run this park are the best. My dog loved the dog park.

Sometimes you just need to get away and this park is just about perfect for that. I rode out here…read moreon my Tri Glide and found a nice picnic table under the pecan trees right near the creek. With the recent rains the creek was flowing and children were playing in the water. There is playground equipment for kids, there's a soccer field and the thing I was looking for the most, solitude. I would definitely bring my grandchildren here to burn off some energy. Now there was some trash on the ground but I don't fault the park for that. Some people are just pigs, there are trash cans right next to the picnic tables. You really can't miss them, but some people still do. There are also bbq grills next to the tables. The picnic tables are also spread out so you can have a little privacy while you enjoy the beauty of this park. Here's a little tip, your mother doesn't work here, clean your own trash up.

Love this local park. Easy parking and trail maps available. The trail we enjoy is under 2 miles…read moreand there's sooo much to see. It starts with a decent steep hike up to Cross hill, here you can see views all of Castroville and beyond. Coming down, we hiked along native cacti and plants, walked along a dry river bed, and took pics along a pond containing birds and wildlife. End of the trail dropped us in the well maintained green park. Clean bathrooms and community center were nearby. Nice local peaceful hike and you can picnic along the way as benches are scattered throughout.
