The idea of motion lights under the bed sounded good but wow they are bright and wake up others. Then there is the price. I cannot justify paying this much for a few days .. literally we did it all and did not hold back.. room with patio, valet, pedicures, lagoon canopy, lazy river, breakfast buffet, nightly happy hour and steak house one night. 2 nights, 3 days ... $3400 for 2 people.

[The front office did provide water jugs.] The water did stay on for more than 1 hour, only issue is the water pressure will go down a little bit. The cabin my family and I stayed at is "Lone-star". It is an amazing cabin, very big on the inside. Very clean, and organized. Every room in the house was perfect. I would say it fits 13people in there, but everybody had their own bed, and shower. There is no wifi which is not good, since they offer cable tv so it should've came with it in my opinion. Our neighbors were very friendly, great place! Overall we had the best time and loved the cabin... might go back this coming weekend again

When we were first sat, it was next to a bush that had so many bees. We asked a server to move but she stated all daybeds were taken (despite some being empty through our stay). We asked a second server our request again because we were unable to even sit on the daybed without bees swarming on us. This second server was able to move us with no issues. Upon arrival there were no towels, we had to ask multiple times before we received any. The food was served quickly thankfully and was pretty good- as well as our drinks. We ordered a pina colada and gin based drink. Both were good but it was way too hot to drink how we wanted. The turkey sandwich, guacamole and chips, and chicken tenders were also good and pretty standard. There was a separate adult pool on the lower deck that was a lot quieter than the general pool (and no kids) with better music. We know for next time to just order chairs here. Ending the night, it took at least 25 minutes for our final receipt to be given. I had to approach the bar area twice to ask what was going on. There seemed to be confusion on our pool tab and how to close our Resort Pass. Spending over $300, the experience could've been a lot better with quicker service. It was also hard to follow who was our server as we were greeted by 4-5 people through our time. I would consider coming here on a calmer day out of season if looking for a more relaxing experience. Plus to seeing the fireworks while leaving. The pools were a lot more enjoyable once the sun began to set which was around 7 (our stay was from 4-9).

We stayed in two of the large "tents" and one of the smaller cabins. It has a wonderful rustic flair to make you really feel like you've gotten out of the big city, but still comfortable enough with the temperature controlled setting and the wonderful mattresses to make sure you're well rested. They have a variety of things in a large plot of land, including a river you can swim in, various trails to take your golf carts around so you can see a variety of wildlife, including deer and armadillos, a very nice pool and hot tub with a full bar right next to it, and other small things, including a cornhole set and a Pickleball court. What I think blew me away, though was the incredible hospitality of those who worked there, they were genuine interested in making sure that we were as comfortable and happy as possible, and the very delicious breakfast that they made for the house, the pond request. Whether you're with the family, having a romantic getaway, or just simply wanting to enjoy the beauty of the Hill country, I cannot recommend this location enough.

My husband and I stayed at the Flying L cabin for a couple nights while we attended a very dear…read morefriend's wedding. Unfortunately, we didn't have the best experience staying there. 1. We are out-of-towners and this is our first time visiting Bandera. We always heard about the welcoming, friendliness and hospitality of the small town Texans. What we experienced at the front desk when we checked in wasn't any of those. The young lady who helped with our check-in wasn't friendly nor welcoming. I wanted to check out the place so I asked her if its ok for me to look around. I got a short answer from her after I repeated the question twice. No eye contact, no smile... 2. When we opened our cabin door, a very strong chemical smell of the most recent wood stains was overwhelming. We left the door open for a while to see if the smell got better, it wasn't, and we started feeling a light headache and nausea . So I called the front desk asking for another room. I was put on hold for a long time. I had hang up and then, got a call back. Since another cabin won't be ready until much later, we brought all of our luggages back in the car and drove to the check in area to drop off the keys. The young lady was busy with another customer so we talked to another lady. Again, no smile.. Its noone fault about the smell of the cabin. However, the way the situation was handled, it made us feel like we were bothering them. If I could "suck it in" and stayed in that room, I would. But my sensitive nose couldn't handle it... 3. The cabin itself has very nice wood walls and cute and simple decors. But it's a tiny space with the bunk bed taking a big chunk of the room. No closet or hangers, the tiny shower, and the beddings and towels, being dark brown, didn't help to show the cleanliness. The pillows were so hard, my husband couldn't sleep the 1st night. Luckily, he asked the front desk for a more "fluffier" pillows and got a better night of sleep the next night. Worse is,, there was only one tiny mirror in the bathroom. I am not sure why another mirror wasn't available in the room so 2 people can get ready at the same time... Customer services at these hotels are very important. They play a big part on how people, out-of-towners like us, view about the town and people who live here. Sadly, based on our experience from our stay here, Bandera wan't what we expected and maybe, will be our one time visting... *This resort/these cabins are surrounding by a nice golf course, homes and so many beautiful and peaceful deers. It has so much potential to be a very special place....

My daughter and I stayed here for an event we were attending in town. We stayed only one night,…read morearrived to check in at 7:30 pm on a Friday and we were checking out the next morning before 8:00 am. When we checked in, the woman working at the desk was very friendly. However, she had about a five minute presentation on every detail about the resort. She even talked about things that were not happening while we were there. This would have been nice if we were staying a while but we were obviously there only about 12 hours. The other downside to this is that we were third in line to check in, so we had to stand there and listen to her say it three times. Side note, part of the check in process is to sign a liability waiver which I find odd. After we set off to find our cabin, I was shocked to find the grounds dark, completely dark. The only designation on the cabins is a number on the cabin itself and some of them do not face the street. The porch lights are dim so it was very difficult to find our place in the dark. The room was fine, dimly lit but fine. It was roomy, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice. After we got settled, I went to the restaurant by the main office. They had live music and were taking orders outside. I was told by the woman taking orders that the kitchen was too backed up and they could not take any food orders at the time, "we are a three man operation and are too behind so come back in 30 minutes". Then, when I came back at 9:01 pm I was told they stop serving food at 9:00 and I could only get pizza. Not impressed with the restaurant. The next morning, I got up at 6:00 am to go for a walk. Again, everything is pitch black, no street lights anywhere. I walked through the little cabin street that winds around and followed a sidewalk that apparently turns into the golf course sidewalk. No designation, no lights, I had no idea. A staff member in a golf cart yelled at me that I was not allowed to walk on the golf course sidewalk. This also seemed strange to me as I wasn't running around on the course. I was on a sidewalk. This place was fine if you need to be close for an event, like we were, but I would not choose to stay here for any length of time for recreation.

I stayed here for a quick weekend trip with friends. It's a nice little campsite for both tent…read morecampers and RV campers. The lot sits between a creek and residential homes. There's a small river that crosses through the camp site, but the tides were low and it didn't look like you could kayak or tube in it that weekend. It was nice to watch the ducks swim by though. I like that the campsite includes clean restrooms and showers. Each tent site provides you a bench, trash bin, bbq grill, and fire pit. Unfortunately, there was a burn ban in effect during our stay, so we couldn't light a wood fire. There was plenty of space between us and other campers, so it didn't feel cramped. One thing that could be improved is that the field is pretty rocky. We couldn't seem to find a spot for our tent that wouldn't drive a stone in our backs at night. The camp site offers kayak rentals, but it gets to be quite expensive. Visitors can also use the swimming pool located by the front office. If you're feeling hungry, want to grab a drink, or enjoy some entertainment, right by the entrance is a restaurant bar. They've got live music most nights.

It's more of a camper site with a dry-ish field nearby. I feel that this site just had extra land so it offered some camping grounds but you're basically in people's backyards on both sides, and near a highway so lots of car noise. Maybe there are sites offered deeper where you're not so close to roads and peoples homes. Overall, I still enjoyed my trip, but I would probably only return here if I had an RV Camper. Not the best spot for tent camping.
