We spent 2025 Thanksgiving week at Boulderdash, and it was fantastic. Extremely well run RV facility, strong stable power at the pedestal, good water, and well kept grounds. Small, but perfect for us because it was not overrun with people in golf carts, 4 wheelers, etc. The owners, Lyn & Carol-anne, have their residence right next door, and are available for any issues or questions. And they delivered warm pumpkin bread loaves to all campers on Thanksgiving! They have built a great escape with this RV park. There is also a house, an apartment, and a renovated RV available for rent. Bandera is about 10-15 minutes away, if you have to "do something". Highly recommended. We will be back! read more

We arrived to find Carol-anne waiting for us, with a welcoming smile as big as Texas. She led us to our site and gave us a quick rundown of some of the park rules (trash, laundry, parking, etc). As others have said, there was a complimentary mason jar of deer corn on our picnic table and a printed sheet of park info. Lyn stopped by to say hello while we were setting up. He seems to always have something to keep him busy in the park...always on the go. They live up the hill, above the park, so they're close by if you need anything. There are two shower/restrooms: a converted horse trailer (so cool!) and the more traditional one that's part of the office building. The traditional one has a shower that is divine! Big and roomy, with real water pressure!!! The laundry is two/two deal, with each load costing a total of either $3 (your own laundry soap and dryer sheets) or $5 (their laundry soap and dryer sheets). The Wi-Fi is the best we've ever encountered! Never once were we knocked offline, no slow weak signal, we were able to stream as much as we wanted. It really was the best! This is a very small park and it feels more like you're hanging out in someone's backyard. Very cozy, very calm. Wildlife everywhere. We ended up buying 80 lbs of deer corn, strawberries, blueberries, cabbage, carrots, grapes and apples for the deer, as well as peanuts for the squirrel that lives in the knothole of the tree next to the deck. The wildlife was a big selling point in booking our stay here, and it did not disappoint: fawns, does, spikes, bucks, gray fox, raccoon, squirrels, cardinals, titmouses, doves and house finches were our visitors. I would imagine it's tough to get a reservation here during high season, but if you can, do it! You'll love it! (Word of caution...the last stretch of the drive here, maybe a quarter of a mile, is unmaintained gravel that requires a very slow crawl if you want to be kind to your rig. Take it slow and easy, and you'll be rewarded with a great stay at a lovely little gem of a park.) read more

We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint little RV/camp spot. The sites are well arranged and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. They are very thorough with the details of what you need to know and the rules and I really appreciated this because to me it shows they are good neighbors and respectful. This place is extremely dog friendly and the bathrooms are spotless. We loved how shaded our rv site was and they provide deer corn if you're up for feeding the deer. We enjoyed the privacy of this place and it's a nice, family owned small rv site. They have a cabin and tent sites, too if that is your jam. We would definitely return! read more

After the cancellation of all thing Christmas this year due to Covid 19, we decided to load up the car, find a place to camp, and hit the road. After trying to figure out if we wanted to glamp or camp we stumbled upon a campsite called Boulderdash (and im so glad we did). From the start, the staff was awesome, booking was smooth. When we arrived we met the manager Andrea who was helpful and informative about the grounds.we were at river site 1 which was so amazing and peaceful..we were the only campers all weekend..it was so quiet and chill. The water was a brisk 66 degrees but I swam every day. The restrooms and showers were spotless and clean..CarolAnn and Lyn the owners made an awesome Christmas dinner in the cabin and we were welcomed with open arms to join...I even played dominoes till sunset with them and some neighbors. I highly recommend this jewel of a spot if ya want to get away and just relax. read more

Site was double booked with a party of 12 people. Management was uncooperative and debited us a refund after management on site realized they booked double. We were a tent camping pushed into an rv site right next to managements rv. We did not stay and WILL NOT recommend them to any friends, or family. Than replies to the reviews turning it back on the person writing the review saying it was their fault. That's not a way to run a business. read more

It was our first time ever camping this weekend. My husband and two kids arrived Friday afternoon to register for our tent location. From the very beginning Mrs. Carol was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. As soon as the on site host Mrs. Andrea came to check him in, the mood completely changed. Her attitude was extremely dry and unwelcoming she explained in a rude tone about every single little thing that we are not suppose to do during our stay after he specified he had already read the rules prior to arriving. She was also upset that I was not there to check in even after my husband explained we had an emergency come up and I would be arriving the next morning. She rudely replied by telling him I must stop and speak to her first before arriving to the campsite. After all was said and done she came down to our camp ground and reiterated everything once again to my husband, he said she made him feel like a child when you pull them aside to get after them. He called me right after to let me know what a bad experience he had with Mrs. Andrea while registering. I arrived Saturday morning and went into the front office to see what she needed to talk to me about. Instead of welcoming me and my daughter, she rudely told me that I had not added her to the reservation and how there would be an extra fee for her and for my vehicle. I couldn't believe I was being spoken to with a rude unwelcoming attitude so I interrupted her ranting by telling her "cant you just add those fees to my credit card on file" I had a long drive and I would like to go spend time with my family, just email me the receipt". I started walking out the office when she yelled "MAM" I am not finished yet! I still need to show you where the restrooms are! Andrea proceeded to tell me I couldn't drive down to our tent site even after I told her I suffer from a chronic condition that prevented me from walking steep areas. She said I needed to park on the hilltop and pay the extra vehicle fee. I could not believe how inconsiderate she was towards my condition!! I had to call my husband to come for me and help me get to our campsite. Boulderdash Cabin & RV Park Terms & Conditions Terms and conditions state that they expect their guests to be decent humans and have common courtesy. They expect guests to treat employees, their property, and other campers with respect. Unfortunately, the same policies don't apply to their on site host. We liked the site but we ended up leaving early instead of staying one more night due to our unwelcoming experience with Andrea. We will not be staying there again and will not be recommending this place to our friends and family due to the type of hospitality we received during our stay. read more

We just did our second rv trip. First with full hookup. This place not only offers 3 spots for that - 2 of which have huge concrete slabs with deck and and table each, but also a huge communal deck. They leave jars of corn for deer, bird seed for you. They offer a cabin down at river with a few gorgeous campsites. The rv sites are up high on hill with trees, views and breezes. There's a concrete road to walk to river. A bbq up top and by river also to share. The most impressive part that we loved was the privacy and quiet. Small private place with lovely hosts and owners. We got to meet all four as hosts left after first days and then owners came in other days. They were friendly with our dog too. We plan on going back for sure, just a long drive for us - but so worth it. I recommend this place for camping or rv for sure. Would be amazing to rent out a bunch of for a group of friends or family. There's even a little bathroom for campers and a kitchen type thing down by river. read more

We had such an amazing time here! Boulderdash was quiet and so peaceful. It was just what we were looking for. The river was clear and cool and the walk down and back up earned me some s'mores! Carol-Ann and lyn were really friendly. We got to sit in our campsite on top of the hill and watch two different storms roll in! It was beautiful to see. We will for sure return. read more
