Claiming that you reviewed your cameras and confirmed how your staff treated me is not possible when you did not know which customer to look for. Presenting that as fact does not clarify anything and only creates a misleading impression. Regarding the food, I never said anything was "left out," yet your reply treated it as if I did. My comment was about freshness, based on seeing full trays being brought out and trays already sitting there shortly before closing. Any reasonable customer would question next-day freshness in that situation. Responding to something I did not say avoids the actual point rather than addressing it. The menu layout is also not a matter of personal taste. The graffiti wall is difficult to read, and placing the menu directly above seated diners forces people to stand over them while they eat. That is not a preference issue. It is an uncomfortable design choice. Calling it preference dismisses the concern instead of acknowledging it. When I asked about items still being advertised, your staff genuinely did not know anything about them. That was their actual response. Your remark that I must have enjoyed the food because I did not mention it was not constructive. It came across as sarcastic and dismissive of the concerns I actually raised. Bringing heritage into a conversation where it was never mentioned or implied was also completely unnecessary. It had nothing to do with my review and looked more like a deliberate deflection than a genuine response. Definitely the best BBQ around. It's been a challenge since moving to Utah from the east coast to find good BBQ but this hit the spot. The employees are super nice and happy to answer questions. They have indoor and outdoor seating and they have different specials everyday. We went on burnt end Thursday. The Mac and cheese was nice and creamy and they had a ton of sauces to choose from so n the tables. I love the Carolina bbq and they have spicy options too. Just had a late lunch at Lost Texan BBQ and it was delicious ya'll! I had the 1 meat plate and got their jalapeño cheddar sausage it comes with 2 sides so I got their creamed corn and Mac and cheese. Oh and extra pickles their homemade pickles are so good! My husband got the 2 meat plate and got shredded chicken and pulled pork with the Mac salad and beans he said it was delicious and we shared a piece of their yummy corn bread. The manager came out to the dinning room and chatted with us and she is just a sweet heart. I had Lost Texan BBQ for the first time at the Weber State tailgate yesterday and it was incredible. The Blue Heat sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The beans with sausage bits were probably my favorite part, after the brisket which was super tender. Couple that with the Mac and cheese along with rolls and it all slapped. We chatted with the owner afterward, who was super awesome and gracious. She told us about some of the things they've got coming up at the restaurant and I'll definitely be looking forward to it. 10/10 would eat again. A quality experience overall. read more

The girl wanted to charge us an extra 3.50 on top of what they already charge for their brisket. The place was dirty, and not very inviting at all. The girl goes from food to handling the register not once changing her gloves, that is unsanitary! What a way to rip your customers off. What a disrespectful and rude comment back to me. Hopefully the Health Department shuts you down!! Steve's bbq in ogden is way better, even know you don't get sides included with your meat. What a disrespectful owner of a business you are. Actually we did try your food once before, we decided to give you one more try, and it was worse than the first time we went in, and you added some 3.50 charge on top of your already outrageous prices. The owner Judy makes you feel like you are welcome and she's happy to be there! That is very hard to find these days. The brisket was so tender and flavorful but the cold Mac salad was better than any I've tasted. The sweet tea reminds me of home in Florida. The cheesecake was the perfect ending to a warm comfort food, it tastes like something out of a kitchen not from a fancy restaurant which is exactly what is needed! It was not too sweet and perfectly thick. My Fiance was kind enough to let me try his peach cobbler which isn't what you would typically think of as a cobbler but again was way better!!! Hadn't been there in over 7 years because we didn't like the food back then. Stopped in tonight because it's under new management. The Smoked Meatloaf was good although a little dry. Enjoyed the Mac &cheese and the potato salad. I was surprised the chopped brisket was swimming in sauce. I can only assume that's to keep it from drying out. Would be a much better product if it was chopped as needed and the customer could add sauce based on their preference. Note the chopped brisket was what I had 7 years ago and it hasn't changed. Staff was very friendly although they seemed confused. They weren't sure on slicing the meatloaf and didn't offer me the drink that should have come with the special. read more

I was in the neighborhood and in the mood for BBQ and wanted to give this spot another try. VERY happy with my meal and am glad they are still putting out decent BBQ. I went for the 2 meat plate, sliced brisket and the sausage. I liked that they gave a choice between point and flat as I like the less fatty flat. Seasoned well and not over smoked. Great beef flavor without all of the additives you sometimes find to hold meat. The sausage was a jalapeno sausage and was decent. Casings were really tough and I got a link that was super loaded with jalapenos. Not horrible but could have been mixed better. Mashed potatoes for a side were great as was the Mac and Cheese. There was too much food in the box and I had to take home leftovers (this is a good thing.) Looking forward to visiting again. read more

Texas size prices not so Texas size portions. I got one small scoop of pulled pork two thin slices of brisket with beans and coleslaw. The coleslaw was majority liquid and not very much of the cabbage mix. There was an option to swap one of your meat choices for ribs on Friday but when I inquired you only get one singular rib. So you can pay a hefty price and walk away with 3 ribs or choose between the other meat selections. We stopped this little BBQ place after Peach Days because Brigham was crazy. The owner and his wife greeted us warmly. They were so kind and courteousas they explained the whole menu to us. Dropped in here from some BBQ as we were running errands in North Ogden. We were excited having lived in Texas and Louisiana for years. Walked into this small BBQ joint and were welcomed with friendly smiles. Being a military family were loved the tributes to all our heroes, tables were clean and service was quick and friendly. The wife and I sampled as variety of their menu. Pork ribs, brisket, Mac and cheese, potatoes, pinto beans and the slaw. Pork ribs were okay, brisket was lean and bit dry but overall good. Mac and cheese was good, would be even better if they put brisket choppings in the Mac and cheese. Pinto beans needed to be cooked a bit longer as they were still a bit firm. Slaw was okay, not great. BBQ sauces at the table were between Texas and Carolina, both and mild and spicy. We love the heat and spice, but we loved the mild Carolina the best. The Texas spicy was heavy on the crushed red paper. Overall Lost Texan scratched our itch for BBQ. Not a lot of places around Northern Utah who are doing BBQ these days. Give it a try. read more

They had BBQ sauce on it already and I like when it comes without sauce. It would be nice if they indicated that on their menu. I enjoyed their pork more. Lost Texan has quick, good-priced BBQ. I got the pulled pork sandwich with twice smashed potatos. I liked the potatos and the pork was decent too but I kept finding myself dumping more BBQ sauce on it to add flavor. My biggest issue with the sandwich was that the meat was pretty wet and it made the bun really soggy, really fast. Nobody likes a soggy bun! Glad I tried it but overall the food wasn't anything that special to me. I probably won't be back. read more

Sorry, I expected better. I had heard great things, but was disappointed. Having a son living in the Houston Texas area, I've had some of the best BBQ. We had a family dinner there on April 10th. The meats were good, just not a wow factor. I had the Brisket Nachos, which were good, but it looked like a kids portion. My son had a 3 meat plate, again, good, not great, and the portions were small. I understand things are more expensive, just didn't feel the value was great. Service was good and the place is cool, but small. Loved the tribute to our military! I'll give it another try and hopefully it will impress me then! read more
