Chile Verde w/pork. This was my favorite potato but maybe it was the person that prepared it that was the reason it wasn't good, this time. You could barely see the Chile Verde. When he prepared our potatoes he didn't ask what toppings we wanted. When I went to pay he didn't ask if we wanted drinks so when I told him that we did want drinks before I paid, instead of cancelling the transaction he had me complete the payment and do a separate transaction for drinks! Found this spot on Yelp and was excited to try it. The online menu looked great, but ordering wasn't available--though it was an hour before closing. I called instead, and a friendly staff member explained we were likely looking at an old menu. Only potatoes and tamales were available. She took our order and had it ready in 15 minutes. I got a plain baked potato with sour cream, butter, and broccoli, plus a green poblano tamale. No salt or pepper included, and the takeout container was greasy, soaking everything inside. The food was decent, but the Reese's cookies were undercooked and falling apart. Overall, an okay last-minute meal, but it's clear this place isn't what it once was. read more

First time eating at Brixtons. Arrived at 10:55AM on Thursday. The employee unlocked the door as we were visiting with friends. I opened the door to allow our group to enter and the employee stated, "we open at 11, you need to wait 4 minutes" seemed odd but, whatever, so we waited 4 minutes and entered. I will say this was the only employee we saw and perhaps it is their policy that customers are not allowed until more than 1 employee is on staff, not sure. Once we approached the counter to order, I felt the vibe frome the employee that we were an inconvenience to him. We ordered, ate and left. Decent food, a bit pricey but isn't everything these days? The discomfort we felt will prevent us from returning to this establishment. Seems the customer is not appreciated here, although many reviews contradict our views, perhaps the employee was having a bad morning. Those happen to everyone i think. But my belief is the customer is the existence of the business and they missed an opportunity to have new ones that dine out often in the Ogden downtown district. read more

I love a good baked potato and thought I would give this place a try for lunch. I tried the bacon cheddar, which was alright. I'm not sure what the "cream sauce" was but next time I'll ask them to leave it off. The potato skin was also too tough to eat, which was a bummer for me since I usually eat it. They do have quite a few unique and fun different recipes that you can try. The portions are huge - I got the regular size and I couldn't finish it. I added on a mint brownie, which I enjoyed. The only thing fresh and real is the potato itself. Loaded with processed, frozen and canned ingredients. $30 for three potatoes delivered for the fam... pretty bummed because this is one of my favorite comfort food concepts. Great idea but where's the love? I hope they decide to switch to unprocessed proteins and add some fresh ingredients like vegetables that aren't frozen. It's interesting that she will say that the MLB is wrong to move the All-Star game from Georgia, but she will refuse to wear a mask during a pandemic and hangs her political banners. I used to live in Ogden and loved going to Brixtons. I use to talk about it all the time to my husband and said that the next time we're in town, I would take him there. We were in town this weekend and I was excited for him to try it. As soon we drove up to the restaurant, I noticed their banner. That was really disappointing. Everyone is entitled to their political preference HOWEVER in a very tense climate that we're in, you'd think business owners would want their clients to feel welcomed regardless of who they support. I am a huge fan of potatoes and their potatoes are awesome. I have tried the breakfast potato, chili verde, bacon cheddar, Texas chili and chicken Alfredo. All of them are fantastic. I come here whenever I am going to see a movie or feeling the need for a fancy cupcake. The atmosphere is okay and could use a little more seating but good space utilization for space available. I may have had too high expectations of this place but I was just very disappointed with my visit. Now I really love potatoes and will eat them for lunch on a regular basis, so the food concept is not the problem. I think I was expecting a build-your-own potato bar and that is not was I got; the business model is based on pre-selected recipes that you may choose from - enchilada style, Thai style, chili and cheese, basic butter and chives, etc. My 10-year old companion ordered the kids chili and cheese potato- which seemed hard to mess up. However, the potato skin was so hard (old?) that he broke his fork trying to cut through the skin. I tried to help him and I agreed something was definitely off with the potato. The chili was just ok, tasted liked canned chili to me... nothing special. I ordered the enchilada style with pork and it was a little bland with some of veggies (corn and green peppers) not quite working with the overall flavor profile. The pork itself was rather bland and needed some kind of spice to make it "enchilada style." Overall, something was just lacking at Brixton's. I don't think I will return and just stick to my own potato concoctions at home. Perhaps if they offered a custom build your own I would reconsider, but at this time I just don't think it is worth visiting again. read more
