I have never eaten here, this review is based only on drinks / entertainment. The drinks seem weak and too expensive. The place is trying too hard to look like a club in Chelsea or the meatpacking district, even though it looks like a walmart garden center walking up. I had just been run out of my regular sanctuary bar by a crazy person determined to be my best friend. She was telling me wild and fantastical stories which weren't even fun to listen to because I knew there wasn't a shred of truth to them. So when my friend texted with 'hey let's go watch boobs of Bushwick comedy night at Lot 45', I thought 'okay, maybe this night isn't a total wash yet' No. I don't really get the whole Boobs of Bushwick 'thing' and they did a terrible job of explaining it to the audience. After 10 minutes I was weighing in my mind which was worse - enduring the stories of the random El Salvadorian tranny, or suffering through these professional comedians try to put on a show at Lot 45. There were a couple of moments where I laughed, and maybe if I had some tourists staying at my house I'd take them there because it's three blocks away and free (well, except for the overpriced watery drinks). I like that they are giving a venue to people just trying to live their dreams and all, but.....uuuggh. Weird crowd and not very clever comedy. Definitely will appeal more towards young transplants who just don't give a shit about anything. read more

If this is the only line of this review you read, I want to preface with this: Don't come to brunch here. There are so many better restaurants in this neighborhood - heck, even on this block. THE BAD If you're intrigued, I've numbered my grievances below: 1. First - the water glasses are literal shot glasses. For a place with a drink called the Bloody Hangover, they clearly understand the general brunch state of their target audience. Why hate hydration so very, very much? It wouldn't be as big a deal, but it also proved impossible to locate our waiter for the majority of the meal so refills were a distant fantasy. 2. The truffle mac and cheese was a sorry excuse for a meal. It was bland, greasy noodles topped with what looked like a melted Kraft cheese slice and a faint aroma of something vaguely truffle-esque. Some things (like the burger) looked like the might be better, but good god, why even tease about truffle mac and then serve something so overpriced and truly awful? I feel the same way about cheese that I assume most people feel about their firstborn children, and I took this as a personal affront. 3. The waiter forgot an entire entree, even after he wrote down all the orders and read them back to us. He didn't appear to notice when he delivered all the meals but one and then promptly disappeared, so we had hunt down someone else to alert the kitchen. 4. When they did finally bring the missing entree, it turned out to be a watery omelet accompanied by some greens that were DRENCHED in table salt. Completely inedible, and I love salt way more than any person who wants to live past 65 ever should. 5. Not that big a deal, but we went on one of the first warm days of Spring and the heat lamps were sweltering. I wouldn't advise sitting directly below one unless it's freezing outside and/or you are a reptile. 6. Again not a big deal by itself, but the drink and meal receipts were separate and delivered at separate times. I get it, but we were pretty fed up at this point (in fact, already mentally writing this Yelp review) so this was just one added inconvenience. 7. This isn't brunch-related, but I've been by here a number of times at night and they often charge cover (full disclosure - this was last summer so maybe they got wise and stopped that bullshit). There are cooler parties and better bars all over the area. A cover is crap (unless there's a show). THE GOOD Nothing was really great at this place. Here are some things that didn't completely suck. 1. The venue is cool and the location is great - a lot of potential here if the staff weren't terrible and the food was even mildly palatable. I've heard it's better at night, so if your heart is set on wasting your money on this joint, maybe come only for drinks. 2. One person's kale salad was ok. Though if you want kale salad go to Tandem, just a few blocks down Troutman - their kale salad is killer and brunch is way better in general. 3. They did take the missing entree off the bill and gave us nutella toast on the house at the end of the meal (Ironically, that was the best-tasting part of the experience - way more palatable than anything we actually ordered). That was really nice, but at that point in the experience it was definitely too little too late. 4. The Bloody Hangover (Bloody Mary + chicken wing or oyster) was pretty. I've had better bloodies, but it gave me a great Instagram photo which I feel has to at least be publicly acknowledged. TL; DR: Don't waste your time or money here. There are a million great brunch spots in neighborhood - go somewhere else for better food and service. read more

Was here for NYE and had a great time. The $20 cover was cheap compared to usual NYE prices elsewhere and all the staff were super friendly. The bartenders were helpful and approachable, drinks were cheap, the DJ and atmosphere was great, and there was free champagne at the bar at midnight. Great place to go to, but horrible if you actually try to book it. Had a friend who booked it after reserving it for a birthday event. Money down, paid, planned an everything. A day before her birthday, and a week before the party, they tell her that they gave the venue to someone else. She had friends and family flying from every where to attend this party that was cancelled for no good reason. Incredibly unprofessional. Do not try to rent this place, they are flaky and don't care about you and how much time and effort you've put into the venue. Don't understand what planet they live on where it's okay to do that? What did the other group have that let them have the event? What made the other group so special that lot45 decided to bump an already EXISTING EVENT FOR ANOTHER BOOTSY EVENT THE WEEK BEFORE. The worst part? They wouldn't even tell her why she was bumped. Used to love this bar for a casual drink with friends but knowing that that's how they treat customers? This was literally what the dj played all night. He provided no variety in the music and took no request. In other words he was trash. Just walked through right quick as we passed by during a quest for a nearby coffee shop and we were invited in to watch one of the World Cup games. This space is really beautiful and open. There is a large patio space and through it is the bar/lounge areas with TV. The lounge space was really cool in temperature , which was a much welcomed departure from the heat outside. Didn't stay long but looking forward to coming back and grabbing a beer or two. Really chill afternoon vibe and the staff seemed super friendly , which is also a plus :) read more

This review is for nightlife only.. I like what they are trying to do. The music selection ranges from intelligent house tracks to some guilty pleasure 90's dance pop. The night I went they were charging cover on the weekend but strolled in late so it was a non issue. I am assuming the cover was to deter the past blue ribbon set/ random street locals. Crowd seemed more williamsburg than bushwick (sign o the times) and seemed more high fashion brooklyn nightlife compared to someplace like bossa nova civic or tandem . You know how people say the pictures don't do it justice. Well it's actually quite the opposite here. The photos I viewed prior to my visit made it seem like a a kitschy yet cool place with a dimly lit lounge vibe. In real life I was faced with a run down bar/restaurant using lack of light to disguise it's ravaged state, disorganized entry, and rudeness. I walked in and was directed to a line by security. Actually to be more descriptive he stepped in front of my path, got close to my face and mean mugged me and pointed to the line like I was being scolded. Guess what? It wasn't the right line. That person directed me to a guest list girl outside. I couldn't find the girl because she was mobbed by a swarm of people surrounding her. There were no velvet ropes and the queue was all over the place. In fact someone cut me when I walked up to speak to her and she assisted them first. Then she couldn't find my name on the list and made me wait outside in the cold while she talked to other people. We finally figured that out and then I was sent right back to the line I initially came from. The girl at the desk says $40. I then show her my tickets and she let's us in. How confusing. This place is totally not worth $40 cover by the way. Oh and my ID wasn't checked at any point in the process. I mean, I know I look old but jeez I'm mildly offended. They don't give out wristbands, only a red star shaped stamp on the hand for re-entry purposes. While it's a restaurant by day it becomes a venue for music events in the after hours. There is still a limited bar menu up until 2am. When I say limited I mean it's just three items. I opted to pass since I wasn't in the mood for anything on this "extensive" menu. Coat check is basically a little hut with hooks on the wall. There's seating in the patio area but in the colder months it's covered which takes away all of the patio appeal. The music also could not be heard in this area so it was mostly deserted with the occasional person passing through. The dance floor or main room however you want to call it had zero vibe. It was kind of crowded but nearly no one was dancing even though the music was decent. The stage is not elevated so if you are in the back you won't even recognize which DJ is playing. Since no one wants to be on the patio that's just like a massive waste of space and leaves everyone cramped in the main room. I would suggest they extend the sound into the main room but just lower the volume a little for chatting purposes. They can also put a lcd panel up displaying the main room so you don't feel like you are missing any of the action while getting your food or going out for fresh air. May be the vibe is different in the summer, or at least I hope it is. read more

Left my debit card there bc I had to rush my friend home. Tried to call them the following day and ask when I could come get it. The number was out of service. I emailed and Instagram DM'd they but it took a whole week to finally get word that they didn't have it. But it was the only place I went that night and it was the last charge on my card. Fun place to go but don't expect much from staff. The ticketing people were also very rude at the door. It was so weird. I love the outdoor seating and it's even heated for cooler days. I enjoyed their fish tacos and my bf rated the burger as one of the best he's had because it was well seasoned. I love the free games they offer: table tennis & ping pong. The restaurant is very spacious and is good for types of groups. The real draw here is the classy but comfy ambiance. It's a large indoor/outdoor lounge with bar and small food truck kitchen. Met up with friends for brunch and ping pong on Sunday and there was only a 20 minute wait. The food was good, but some of the portion sizes were lacking given the prices (meatballs - 2 in the order - cost $14) and the mac n cheese similarly small in size. Kale salad and french toast were good sized entrees. Fries were a little soggy for my taste, and reminded me more of hash browns, but I'm guessing there's no deep-fryer in the food truck. The oysters were delicious. They also have two screens with projectors and FREE ping pong. All the staff from host to bartender to busboy were friendly. I have only been during the day, so can't say much about the night scene, but if you had a group of friends, and could reserve a couch, I imagine it would be fun. read more

I went to Lot45 as I was in town visiting from Australia and had heard good things. Being in America you expect good service wherever you go. The staff (in particular the obnoxious guy working there) were so rude and treated us like we were irrelevant. As if that was not bad enough, there was a hair in my food and when I addressed this I was met with further rudeness. I will NEVER go back to Lot45 and I certainly will never suggest it to any of my friends visiting or living in NYC. You guys need to work on your customer service skills. read more

This is the best bar in bushwick hands down. They have the friendliest staff no pretentious hipsters here annoyed when they take your order. They remember your name, your order and they have events have events for everyone. Cocktails on point, beers on points, djs on point. Comfy couches to chill in. And the manager helped me find my phone when i lost it. Amazing. read more
