Like a roadside attraction you always intend to stop at. So, here we were. Inside you will notice all chairs, are leather captains chairs. Except the booths. Weird. Stale something permeates the air. Video gambling everywhere. One pool table. Bible sized carb crazed menu. Awkward drinks from tenderfoot bar maiden crushed any interest my Wife and I had. We diligently left after 20 minutes. I used to work in the area, popped in occasionally. Hadn't visited in some time and was in the neighborhood so stopped for lunch. Oh I miss Lotsa Luck! Everything I've ever had has been better than expected. Had a ham and cheese omelette this time. Yum! Will probably have the same every time from now on, it was that good. This is my neighborhood bar, I've been coming here for 5 or so years Suzanne ran myself and a few others off with her bad attitude! I was shocked the owner kept her as long as they did. I heard from the lady at Plaid Pantry she no longer worked there, I was thrilled I could return to what used to be my favorite bar. ****THIS IS WHY I WONT BE BACK AGAIN**** ***THE OWNER AND ANYONE WHO SPENDS $1 SUPPORTING THE OWNER, SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELF*** Her name is ANGELA! An ABSOLUTE gem and the BEST bartender this place has ever had or will have! Angela alone made this bar worth coming to. Angela was not at work this week, which was unusual. I asked the short blonde hair bartender the one who's usually as high as the tweekers outside, where Angela was. In a nutshell Angela was robbed 7/8/23 at gunpoint while working for these people, and she hasn't been seen since. This struck my curiosity and I didn't feel like I would get an honest answer from a current employee, I decided to ask the 2 customers older gentlemen sitting out front, that I recall seeing there many times before. The one on a scooter, with glasses stated "The owner didn't ask her if she was ok, and did you hear about when her husband got beat with a stick 2 weeks before, he didn't ask him either" That's when the other one in a pink shirt smoking vape said "Yeah, she was mistreated the boss was pretty pissed at her" Stunned at what they said, I replied with "Mad at her for what?" "The money, I guess" as they shrugged their shoulders with the same look of confusion I had. This poor girl is the cutest, funniest, friendliest bartender for miles, I couldn't imagine and I'm sure she is traumatized beyond belief, then to get treated like her life didn't matter, and now is unemployed because some idiot decided to pull a armed robbery. This owner should be paying her for anytime off she needs, but instead he continues to make money, while Angela pays the piper. I stand with ANGELA, and refuse to put 1 red cent in this owners pocket, while the real victim, I'm sure continues to suffer. I'm really curious if she was fired for this, as that's how it sounds, or if she left voluntarily. If she was fired, all the more reason everyone should boycott this place! Had no place for lunch as all the little places had started closing their doors due to Covid of course. That's what got me in your door, but man, I'm glad I found you! A friend and I just walked into this place and it was TERRIBLE! The bartender was eating spaghetti and looked at us like we were the BIGGEST nuisance in the world. No hi, welcome, what can I get you, NOTHING until we had to just stare right at her. SERIOUSLY. Where are your manners? I am 42 years and my Parents/family raised me better than that. I'm always nervous ordering a martini at a tavern. This is not the place I'd expect a good martini or decent bar food. I was pleasantly surprised to find your typical fried bar app food well done (get the sampler) and a very good, properly done dirty martini. Two of these dirty martinis (made with Bombay gin!) and a big app to share with a $22 bill. Bargain!!! Great place for after work drinks....I recommend! read more

Not so lucky. Well, gambling wise, not so lucky. We came here on a Sunday so we imbibed on the special of the day which was a Bloody Mary. The bartender certainly makes it with a kick. Tasty. Gets the job done. Good Food spot. A bit of a plain-jane bar that could use some pizzazz. Video Poker and Keno to keep you entertained. They have a couple TVs - and a Pool Table and Big Screen in back. It's a pretty small place. I joined my folks here for breakfast. Their menu is pretty vast for a little diner. I ordered a simple breakfast and my parents split a Prime Dip. I also indulged in a pint of Peach Ale from Blue Moon-surprisingly good. Food prices middle of the road. Pint of Ale 4.50. Server was good, not that attentive when it came time to order food. Cook was fast and offered us some extra napkins. I love the outside sign and marquee. read more

I usually go here for breakfast foods to treat a hangover, and they serve breakfast all the time so I can wander in at 3 pm and get what I want. Great food menu and staff is nice, always helpful and sympathetic. I recommend the burgers, Bloody Mary and the breakfasts! Closest bar to my house, which ain't a bad thing cuz it's affordable and delicious. And as others have mentioned, they have the best most comfy chairs! Aww man...this is the perfect place to slide into for a nightcap. After filling up on Yoko's (check other review), we came down here to do a couple of shots and lounge up in them captain's chairs. It's your average dive bar but with a fairly personable staff and REALLY comfortable bar chairs. The food isn't great but the beer is cheap and our bar tender was really nice. It's within walking distance to my house so I'll come back for drinks, but I'll eat first. read more

Now this place is fun and mostly skinny jean free. Its an old mans dive bar and that's the ticket. This quirky little spot might be a somewhat underwhelming watering hole for a lot of Portlanders but its a good place to grab a drink and have a conversation with some real salty barkers. Booths face the "quaint" smoking outside area with a view of the auto repair place. This is a review for people who enjoy dive bars by a person who loves dive bars. If you are looking for cuisine, look elsewhere. This is a meat and potatoes joint, and it's a great one. I recently enjoyed one of the best burgers I have ever eaten in PDX. It was better than Helvatia Tavern, Little Big Burger, Stanich, Foster Burger, Killer Burger, Violetta, Thatchers, or any of the fast food chains. It was at least half a pound, loaded with toppings, cooked to juicy perfection (not burnt to a crisp), the meat was sweet, and the bun held up to the flowing juices, for the most part. What did I pay for this divine creation -- $7 -- which included fries. This was a 4 napkin burger. If I was not already busting at the seams, I would eat here once a week. The service was friendly, and the wait time, both to order and to receive the food, were reasonable. read more
