If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. This was hands down the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I went in just to get my acrylics removed and a regular manicure. The machine they had me use to soak off the nails was absolutely disgusting -- it was covered in other people's nail dust and had an old, dirty paper towel in it. When the technician started applying the top coat, the polish began to smear and bubble. She and another employee started talking back and forth (clearly confused about whether it was gel or regular polish), but she left it as-is and told me to sit with the fans on my hands for over 20 minutes. When she finally came back, she looked at my nails and said, "Oh, this is gel!" At that point, she aggressively removed everything and told me to wash my hands. I told her I didn't want any polish at all after that mess. When I came back, she didn't even let me sit before rushing to put cuticle oil on--while there was still polish all around my cuticles. I asked her to please remove it, which she did, but then hurried me off like I was an inconvenience. After nearly two hours, I was charged $35 for this experience. One of the younger staff members claimed she "took $15 off," but I left on the verge of tears -- I'm not confrontational, and I just wanted to leave. My nails looked terrible, my skin was red, and I didn't even get an apology. Absolutely awful service, unsanitary equipment, and no accountability. This salon is very, very, very dirty. If someone from the salon reads this- please please please start sweeping, doing bug control, and keeping things clean. Doing that alone would get you more business. And, 3 employees talked VERY loudly in another language the whole time, including the girl working on my nails. It is very rude to do this. We've had great experiences in the past at this place, but whatever you do do not go to Annie. She is aggressive, and rude. And literally got frustrated when my daughter requested an adjustment to the shape of her nails to the point that she used the drill excessively and gave infections to both of her pinky fingers. My nails are decent, but she was also rude to me. She also left my daughter with a hilariously crooked thumb nail after we tipped her generously. Too afraid to go back and have them fixed, so we will be going elsewhere. We would gladly add photos if possible. read more

Besides the fact they did not pencil in our reservation and we ended up waiting an HOUR, the time they spent on my nails made up for it. I was definitely annoyed they were letting other people seat before my friend and I, just because we were 2 people and harder to accommodate. However, the front desk girl is so sweet and even helped me color match with a photo I had. My pedicure was a little too quick, I would've liked more time spent on the rub and massage part and the tech quickly painted my nails, which I later noticed she got some on my skin without cleaning it up. I had a different fingernail tech and he was very tidy and spent a lot of time on my hands. I recommend this place for 3 reasons quality of the work, prices are fair, and everyone is super friendly. Also the techs all mostly speak English which is great for building rapport with customers who only speak English . However, if you are super picky on cleanliness this place may not be for you. They could use tidying up better, replacing old tools, equipment and linens. IMO if they did that they would probably be the one of the best in the area because the quality of their work is really good! read more

She didn't scrape any of my dead skin or calluses. And messed up the polish on my big toe. Which she knew because she kept trying to put topcoat over it. But not actually fix it. horrible experience! Avoid! I knew this place had bad reviews but my daughter (from out of town) went there by accident instead of Beauty Nails. She is special needs. Instead of properly removed the gel toe polish with acetone they used "a blunt instrument" and toenail clippers to tear the gel off. She called me while they were doing this to ask if this was proper. I said no because it ruins the nailbed and destroys the surface if the top of the mail. When I spoke to the "manager" she did they always do it that way. I said "You do it that way because it's faster -that's not how it's properly done". She refused to let my daughter leave without paying. I told them fine I was posting here on Yelp snd NextDoor to warn everyone. I then called Beauty Nails to apologize that she didn't show for her appointment and confirmed that of course they use acetone to remove gel nails from toes. Do not go here. Friendly? Yes Reasonable prices? Sure Relaxing? No Clean? NO The experience was so disappointing that I decided to create a Yelp account to post my first review. There were 5 empty pedi stations when I came in and they sat me in the only one that had a dirty tub, was visibly worn (flaking pleather back), missing a back cushion. The nail tech insisted I sit in the chair while they clean the tub, then another came by to tell her she just cleaned it and told me to put my feet in to begin the pedicure. I ended up asking to be moved to a different chair since I wasn't comfortable with the chair or "debatably" dirty tub. They obliged, but the rest of the pedicure was rough (I bled), and quicker than the other 2 customers who were also getting basic pedis and were already soaking when I came in. Everyone, including the nail tech I had, was extremely friendly, but clearly lacked the skills needed to provide a clean and relaxing pedicure. 1 star for taking me in less than an hour before closing for a mani/pedi and they actually had paraffin wax. Negative 4 because: (1) I was not special, they took on 4 more clients after me; (2) the less than 15 minute "deluxe" pedicure including the "massage" and wax treatment; (3) the half ass paint job they attempted to send me off with. Yeah. They were nice in that they tolerated some late walk-ins. However, I would rather be turned away because you know your services will not be represented well given the lack of sufficient time to fully perform. Clearly, competency is an issue where I have to tell you how to do your job as a "professional." I'll pass. Instead, I get the rush pedi and cancelled the mani (because if it was going to be anything like the pedi... NO, thanks)! A waste of my time, money, and energy. read more

Very friendly staff, they made an effort to make sure you were happy. My mother in law and I went in for pedicures on a Saturday afternoon ~5:30ish? We were promptly seated, they ran the water in the pedicure bowls (they do not use the plastic disposable covers in the bowls). The prices on the pedicure options range from $22-35. We both just chose the basic since we were already running late and needed to get home. The two men doing the pedicures were alright at attention to our feet, very good at massaging our legs/feet, and then the polish for me wasn't up to par. There was edges exposed that were not painted, I checked them before I left but at that point we needed to leave. Not even four days later several nails had chipped polish, I can imagine from not filing very well on the edges and being caught on socks. I think it all depends on who you get at any pedicure place, but, there needs to be attention to detail here. read more

I would not recommend this place. The lady who did my nails pushed back my cuticles and did not cut them. She didn't even take off the black nail polish on the edge of my thumb nail. You can still see it under the new polish. My nails are shaped poorly and there is a huge gap between my nails and the polish despite asking her to paint it closer to the cuticles. read more

I had a great experience here for a shellac manicure. First of all, I decided I wanted my nails done the morning of the day I wanted them done. I figured I'd have a hard time getting in, but I was able to schedule online during my lunch break and be approved within an hour! As I headed inside, I was greeted and directed to sit down and pick out my nail polish. The man who did my nails (unfortunately, I do not have his name) was great. Absolutely friendly and patient as he dealt with my indecisiveness on my color. He did my nails quick and efficiently, then massaged my hands afterward. This place is a rip off!!! My nails didn't last a week. I am from Chesapeake VA and I needed my nails filled. I lost a tip in less than a week. 2 others off in less than 2 weeks. I went in to give them another chance. At 1045 in the morning, they asked me to come back after 4pm. Never again, and I highly recommend that you don't visit this business! Very sweet and accommodating. Only things I wasn't so fond of was that certain things are extra that usually are free. i.e. $5 for long nail acrylics, $5 extra if you want stiletto. My massage for my mani was quick and not on my arms like most places just my hands. I had to tell them to separate my skin from underside of acrylic nails over and over. Plus I had to tell them to take off the excess gunk that gets on the underside of the nail over and over until eventually I gave up from frustration. I will never get round nails again. Some of the chairs for the pedi have the pleather flaking off and gouges on the arms. The massage feature is strong, that I liked. I don't like that they speak another language while all of their customers mainly speak English. I feel like it is rude. Maybe it's just me. I wouldn't speak Spanish with my daughter while I'm here. One girl speaks English all of the time even when the others speak Vietnamese to her which is greatly appreciated. With my pedicure they just did it and didn't ask which one I wanted-. Awful service and acrylic job. This business is understaffed and the man who did my nails scuffed them and didn't do a correct fill. He would leave for 10 minutes at a time talking to his coworkers. 2 days after getting them done, my nails chipped. The protectant polish did absolutely nothing. I think I got gypped today at Lotus Nails and Spa. It was the worst nail painting job I have ever experienced. After reading so many great reviews about the place, I wanted to give it a try. The manicurist was friendly and nice but she did not do a good job at cutting my cuticles and painting my nails. She unevenly applied too much of the clear top coat on my nails, which not only took longer to dry but also created these tiny bubbles on my nails. My friends and I were in Charlottesville for a wedding and needed somewhere to do our nails pretty late on a Saturday (we didn't check into our hotel until 7pm). Lotus not only worked the three of us in for pedicures AND gel manicures, but our nails looked great (it's 2 weeks later, and my gel manicure has held up better than others I've had in the past, though it's definitely grown out some)! The staff were also all very pleasant: friendly, happy to stay late, and interested in having a conversation with all of us. Was asked to have a seat I did, went got samples to choose nail color. 25 minutes later Lily came up and said it would be another 30 minutes and someone else would be doing my nails. Never met her or know her name. I asked why if you have an appointment I would have to wait? This person said very snarky things happen. I asked her why she was being rude?
