    Perfect fill and design!

This salon exceeded my expectations for the services I requested. Emily is THE BEST! She is kind, professional, and excellent at her craft. The space is also warm and friendly, as other staff are nice too.

    Nail design.

Got this extension design nails done with Emily, it's very like the picture that I showed to her. Find the fittest nail shape for my life we discuss a lot on the shape, color, designs, and diamonds on it. Super shining and perfect for summer, love it.

I have been coming to Serenity Nails for the past few months and have always had phenomenal service. When I came in this week, my dip appointment wasn't up to the usual standard. Within minutes after my nails were done, a nail technician came over and offered a complete redo the next day. The nail redo went extremely well, and the staff was very understanding and accommodating. This is the type of business I will keep coming back to and recommending to friends!

This is definitely one of the better nail salons in Cville. They have made extra precautions with clear barriers and fewer appointment times recently due to COVID. There is a massive selection of nail polish, gel, and dip. A gel mani usually takes about an hour, and it always seems last longer and not chip as much as manis from other salons. Most of the tools come out of sealed packs, but some are shared tools which is not as sanitary. Prices are pretty standard for the area, though there are recent upcharges due to COVID.

I had an appointment at 1pm and they put my feet in the water for a pedicure and I sat there for over 40 minutes. No one came so I left.

Review for Tips and Toes Nail Salon - April 2025…read more I visited Tips and Toes with my daughter for a mother-daughter day. We were looking forward to some quality time and self-care, and while the technicians were kind and the work itself was well done, I left the salon feeling taken advantage of due to the pricing and lack of transparency. Before going, I estimated the cost to be around $350, including tip--a generous allowance for what I expected. However, I was charged $467.31, including a 30% tip. I didn't have time to review the total immediately, as we had other appointments. Later, I returned to ask for an itemized receipt because the amount didn't feel right. Here's what was listed: * Daughter's gel pedicure - $70 * My full acrylic set with gel polish (hands) - $75 * Daughter's dip manicure - $65 * My full acrylic set (toes) - $60 * Classic pedicure add-on for my toes - $49 * Nail extension for daughter's dip manicure - $10 * Gel color add-on for my toes - $20 This brought the total for my toes alone to $129, despite the fact that I had already done all prep work myself the night before, including cutting cuticles and removing calluses. I simply wanted a full set of acrylics on my toes--not an additional $49 charge for a classic pedicure that wasn't requested. What's more, when I asked about pricing for future fill-ins, I was quoted $65 for hands and $110 for toes. I've never been charged anything close to that price for fill-ins on my toes in the past, and I've been getting my nails done for decades. At no point were prices posted anywhere in the salon or clearly communicated to us before services were rendered. If I had known that a full set on my toes would cost $129, I absolutely would have declined. That kind of expense was not foreseeable and, in my opinion, not clearly justified. The experience has left me feeling misled and disappointed. I believe in paying fairly for services, but customers deserve upfront transparency. I hope the salon considers posting visible pricing and being more communicative with clients about add-ons and their associated costs before starting services. I truly wanted to leave this salon feeling pampered and peaceful--but instead, I left with a sense of being taken advantage of. I'm sharing this in hopes that it encourages better practices for future clients.

I politely asked if we could add a single coat of sheer pink color (to make tips less noticeable), but the technician refused. Instead, he told me that if I didn't like his work, I must be "one of those people who can never be satisfied." I'll let the photo speak for itself so others can decide whether my expectations were unreasonable.

I was so excited to support this local nail salon, but unfortunately had an awful experience here…read more I came in on a Sunday for a quick pedicure and chose the standard option. I was seated fast and given water upon entering - which was very nice. The manicurist then approached me with the color I wanted and began working. As he started cutting my nails and cuticles, I was in instant pain. He claimed I had "cuticle damage" (news to me) and tried to repair the wounds with an oil and rubbing alcohol at a very high percentage. This was such a painful experience I cannot even begin to describe my discomfort. I was also incredibly worried about getting an infection from his products. In the same vein, the 'hot rocks' are not used or regulated properly. They nearly burnt my skin and left me feeling injured. From the jump, I noticed the polish was very old and was not able to sit well on my nail. When the manicurist tried to do multiple coats, nothing seemed to work and the nails chipped and smudged instantly as I left. The manager did offer me to redo my nails at a different time, but after this experience I will not be returning. I sincerely hope CK Nails & Spa can go under some sort of a rebrand to fix these issues.

I was running a little late due to traffic accident and Mariko was very understanding. The place is very clean, cute and cozy. When I got there, Mariko offered me coffee, tea, or water which was nice. She also did my consultation and made me feel at ease with the whole process since this was my first time. She was honest too and helped me pick the proper treatment for me instead of just trying to get me to spend more. Since I do have dark hair, she explained my outcome will be more successful than someone who has light hair such as blonde or red hair. She also answered all my questions and was easy to talk with. I decided to go through with doing my first treatment and it was a lot better than expected. There's a package deal that includes 5 treatments which I booked. I also got a 10% discount for being a student which was a nice surprise. Mariko was amazing and talked me through each step and I think her techniques were so good which also made it not so painful. She explained both machines to me prior and did a sample test on herself before doing it on me. Most of the spots didn't even hurt, and the laser felt like hot air. The parts that stung it was really quick and she placed an ice pack right over which helped a lot. I did my armpits, brazilian, and lower legs and whole process took about an hour. She was very professional and I'm happy she was my laser tech. She also gave me some aloe in case I had itching afterwards, which I didn't, and sunscreen samples. Highly recommend Mariko and can't wait to have my future treatments with her!
