When I first walk into this place, I was pretty skeptical due to the fact that this place was own and operated by Caucasian and not Asian. Even the cook is not Asian. I figure since I'm here already, just give it a try. I was really surprise on how the food turn out. It tastes more authentic then most of the place that I've been to. The chicken fried rice and the Mongolian beef is just perfect. All I can say is never judge a book by it's cover. I sure glad I did give it a try. Sooo good. My husband and I love the cashew chicken, I order mine with a bit of chili paste to spice it up. I also love to get the egg drop soup and the Hot and Sour soup and mix it up. My son loves the orange chicken. And my daughter loves the shrimp lo mein. The egg rolls are really good. We always order 2 orders of crab rangoon because its just the best. We drive there from Riverton, KS because its the best take out around and the prices are great too. We will keep going there. read more

Decided on some takeout for lunch today and had a rather poor experience at Lotus Xpress. Pulled up to the drive through a little after 1pm and there was a car sitting at the menu board waiting to order. They didn't appear to be busy, one car parked in one of their pickup parking spots and I saw a couple of people inside the business. I waited for a full fifteen minutes for the car ahead of me to get their order taken, and who knows how long they'd been there before I showed up! When she finally gave her order and pulled up to the window and paid she was clearly aggitated. Now I'm at the menu board and after a few minutes get the "be with you in a minute". Five minutes later she is ready to take my order! So I clearly order two lunch entrees, both the same except one with an egg roll, the other rangoons. Now the employee repeats back a completely different order.... We quickly get that sorted out and I pull up to the window to pay and are told they are having "new girl" issues, no problem I tell her and proceed to the pickup parking area as directed. Another point to mention, while we were waiting, that car that had been sitting in the pickup spot when we first got there had a bag of food brought to them, obviously it was wrong because the girl had to take it back and return a few minutes later and they finally left. So we wait at pickup maybe five minutes and the employee brings out our food, apologizes again and we head home. Of course when we sit down to eat our meal find they hadn't included our egg roll and crab rangoons.... I figure no surprise given the service but decided to give them a call and see if they can make this right with a future order as I'm not driving back across town for this. Apparently the "new girl" answered the phone and when I explain the situation she asks the gal I had just dealt with and I hear her say "If he has his receipt he can come right back to have his order re-made". Re-made? I told her again that I have no intention of driving back over there right then and get silence from the girl on the phone. I finally break the silence with do me a favor and just tell the owner that I won't be coming back, which I'm sure she didn't so hopefully they will read about it here. I am always a little bit wary when trying a new Chinese restaurant. Especially ones with super bright led sings. (What are they over compensating for...?) Lotus Xpress did not dissapoint me. I got general chicken and my man got cashew chicken. The general chicken was a little sweeter than I prefer, but good none the less. The cashew chicken was perfect! The inside was clean and bright and everything is prepared fresh. The prices are awesome. We got out for about $11! Overall great experience! I will definitely be back! read more

Tried this place a couple weeks ago and have been back 3 times since then. I got the small Kung Pao and Rice. It was very good. I took half of it home. Good size portions. The chicken is all white meat. No fat. I purchased a side of Crab Rangoon (4). Best I've ever had. With the Rangoon my total was about $6.50. They have a $4 special. You can choose any type of chicken (get 4 pieces) , get an egg roll, rice and drink. Can't beat that. Highly recommend you eat there. read more

The food is subpar, but that's about the most positive thing I can say about it. I called in an order about 15 minutes before I was going to be there, it took another 30 minutes after I got there to get my food. The real kicker is that every single person that walked in the door and got a meal to sit down, gather food within 5 minutes. It's ridiculous in this day and age to make a customer wait 45 minutes for something called best food. I will not be going back. And when I mentioned to the waitress that it took that long to get my food and then others have been served plenty of times before me, she replied... It's a Friday. Finally gave it a try after being open almost a year. Not bad. I'm a bigger fan of Orient Express but everyone is different. The food quality was good as were prices. Most reviews have said, and were right, you get a lot of food for the price. We ordered cashew chicken, "me me" chicken, pineapple chicken, and pot stickers. The entrees came with egg rolls and crab Rangoon. I'm no expert but I believe their frying oil needed changing. The food wasn't burnt and didn't taste as such but it had a darker than normal color. The egg roll and Rangoon were okay. The rice was ok as well. The pot stickers were fried as opposed to steamed; I believe had we known that we would not have ordered them. The entrees themselves had good flavor but my only gripe would be about the size of the actual chicken pieces. They were larger than expected and we didn't expect to have to dump the food out on a plate and use a knife to cut them up. We picked up our order. The restaurant was small, plain, and bright but appeared clean. The counter, kitchen, and drive-thru window areas were very open and you could see into the entire back half of the restaurant. Another reviewer said they were unsure of this place due to the fact that the owners/employees were not Asian. Well, there was an Asian man cooking in the back, if that helps, lol. The employees on the phone and at the counter were both pleasant. Not my favorite place and I might not go back but if someone asks, I'll be sure to give a decent thumbs up. read more

3 stars just because I love the food here. Customer service wise, they deserve 1. I used to come at least once a week and always had great polite service. With the last month or so every time I come the window employees are always so rude. It's like it's an inconvenience that I'm spending money at the place that employs them. Need more employees that care about the customer. read more
