I took an appointment and waited my turn. The wait was well worth it. On my first appointment we went over my health history and my gastroenterology-related issues. Dr. Khan gave me an order to have an upper endoscopy performed which was completed on 12/09/2021. I am very happy with Dr. Khan and his bedside manner. I feel very fortunate to have become one of his patients.

I've been a patient for YEARS and only managed to see Dr. Lafsky in office ONCE due to repeated scheduling errors on their end. The final straw was after being denied a scheduled appt. With Dr. Lafsky by Nancy the office manager. All bc I missed an appointment while I was in the hospital with SEPSIS. Instead of telling the doctor I was there she sat me and my MOTHER down for 45min to lecture us about missing appointments. I even called from my potential deathbed to cancel and i saw Dr. Lafsky while in hospital!! Later that weekend, I retroactively received an invite from the receptionist Sam to an entirely different appointment the previous month that I did not make nor was I ever informed of. Clearly trying to clean up a screw up. So, after trying to schedule an over due Endo and colonoscopy for 3 years with this office, I finally gave up and found a new GI. I came in as a new patient, had my first appointment, and both procedures scheduled and performed in less than 2 weeks. If you are having issues with this office, it's them not you, just run. She was very knowledgeable and went through the process step by step. They printed out a packet for me to take home. The packet was very detailed and provided excellent day by day instructions for my colonoscopy 2 weeks later with a Dr. Hani Sabahi. I had minimal wait time for my 9AM appointment and the whole process took about an hour and a half which included post procedure waiting. I did not have a lot of questions for the doctor as I did a lot of research on youtube and knew what to expect. Dr. Sabahi was very professional and followed up after the procedure to discuss my results and let me know that he'll see me in about 10 years. Thanks for making the whole process quick and easy.

When you finally get to the "operator," the only thing he can do is take a message. Then when the right person returns your call, you had better be waiting by the phone! Otherwise they leave you a message and you have to go through the whole ordeal all over again! As an example of how bad communication is within the office, I managed to reschedule my endoscopy and received email confirmation. Of the change. But the office then called to confirm my original appointment. The RN with whom I had my original consultation was worthless too. She could care less about me, didn't have the medical experience necessary to understand my medical concerns, and didn't try to understand them. The only reason I tried so hard to get an appointment there was to see Dr. Gill, because he had treated my brother. But I never got to see him, not even in prep for my procedure. I canceled the procedure after all of that. I decided that seeing a great doctor was not worth all of the aggravation, miscommunication, lack of communication, and the number inexperienced people required to get to him. Really too bad.

Will she tell you the things you need to hear! Yes. Dr. Ma doesn't sugar coat your well being. She is a straight shooter and gives you the facts. No pandering! My family has a history of colon cancer. After visiting multiple doctors in my 30s, I was recommended to Dr. Ma from another MD. At that time, she was the only gastroenterologist that understood my situation, built a plan around my family history, and went above and beyond my care regiment. She takes her time to look at every aspect of your record, health history, and physical and mental well being. Dr. Ma may seem abrupt, but that is normal. She is all business, but if you take a moment, get to know her, she is very engaging. So much so that she will chat beyond your allotted appointment time. I have a great relationship with Dr. Ma. Even though we do not socialize, I would consider her a good family friend. She cares that much, you just have to open your eyes and mind to see it.

He is compassionate and sympathetic to other conditions that do not relate to his practice. He is one of the few doctors that will follow up with a phone call after lab tests, something that most doctors no longer do. The reception area is clean, the staff is pleasant and organized.
