I brought my vehicle in for the annual inspection, tire rotation and oil change. The service representative Steve was extremely unprofessional and gave me issues from the moment I dropped off the car. First he told me there was no need for a tire rotation due to my front tires having more tread then the rear tires (tread depth 7/32 front driver side tire -- 8/32 front passenger side -- worn out rear driver side -- 6/32 rear passenger side per Steve). He also informed me I needed to replace the worn out tire to pass inspection then proceeded to try and sell me all 4 new tires. I told Steve I just purchased 4 new tires in March 2024 and they have less than 8,000 miles on them so that doesn't make sense. Steve told me I could have been sold used tires and recommended I contact the company I bought the tires from. At this time Steve charged me for the inspection, the inspection tags and PASSED the vehicle for inspection, but never put the inspection stickers on. Steve also claimed to have done a complementary multi point inspection which my vehicle again PASSED. All this is documented on the receipt. I went to Mavis tire discount the following day. They measured the tread depth in front of me and gave me the correct measurements of: front driver tire worn out -- front passenger 6/32 -- rear passenger 8/32 -- rear driver 9/32. So my tires should have been rotated at Loughead and I did in fact only need 1 new tire. On July 20th Mavis replaced the front driver side tire and mentioned on my receipt that the front lower control arm brushings are ripped which could cause shaking. Something that Loughead never mentioned. After the tire repair, I contacted Steve and questioned him on all of this. He immediately got defensive and began back tracking his previous statements. He claimed to have "mixed up" the tread depth numbers and admitted to giving me the wrong information per his own notes. I asked for some sort of compensation since I had to waste my time going to Mavis and take off another day of work due to his mistake. We could have and should have just fixed the tire when I initially brought my vehicle in. Steve again got defensive and we exchanged words over the phone. I kept asking for either a refund or to come pick up the tags I paid for, but Steve eventually hung up on me. It was very apparent from his behavior that he had a guilty conscience. I immediately contacted the dealerships owner, Ted Loughead, about this. His only recommendation was to trade my car in for something new. I asked to be reimbursed for the inspection since I never received my stickers and Ted refused. He never apologized for or acknowledged Steve's mistake. Ted later sent me an $11 check in the mail to cover the cost of the inspection stickers along with a detailed email finally admitting my heat was in fact broken. He still charged me $62 for the inspection that my vehicle PASSED at Loughead. Despite being loyal to his business since I bought the vehicle, Ted made zero attempt to fix the situation. I decided to take my car to Concordville Nissan for a second opinion. My vehicle failed inspection for 9 different things. The main issues being the front axel, front control arm , all brakes and all rotors. Loughead Nissan replaced all my brakes and rotors on April 22nd 2022 (I drove approx 27,057 miles, mostly highway, since they were replaced.) They also replaced both front struts on and passed my inspection on September 3rd 2024 but never informed me of these issues. Concordville provided me with a video showing the cracks in the control arms. Loughead never mentioned any of these issues verbally or on the detailed receipt. On top of all this, I also paid for the Zurich insurance when I bought the vehicle. Several times over the last 3 years I've mentioned to Loughead that my heat wasn't working under 90 degrees (all documented on receipts). Each time they told me there was nothing wrong. Ted finally admitted my heat was broken and gave me a list of possible issues AFTER he informed me my Zurich insurance was now expired. Zurich may have also covered the other issues brought to my attention by Concordville, which are over $5,500 to repair, but again Loughead never once mentioned them to me despite continuously servicing my vehicle. Finally, my car is a few months away from being paid off. I believe Ted saw this as an opportunity and tried to have his business manipulate me into purchasing a brand new vehicle. His unethical sales tactics didn't work so I guess that hurt his ego. I trusted Loughead and used them every time I needed my vehicle serviced except for tires. I've never missed an oil change, tire rotation, inspection etc. Loughead hiding these problems from me and putting my vehicle back on the road not only created a major safety risk for myself but for other drivers as well. read more

I do not recall ever having a worse experience at a place which buys and sells items and interacts with consumers and this is why. I was interested in a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder and spoke to them on Monday morning during the President's day weekend about the availability of a certain vehicle. When I headed out of my home, the vehicle was still there. However, before reaching the dealership, a person from the dealership called and informed me that they had sold the vehicle. Because I was driving I couldn't talk at length and therefore when I reached my place of work about 30 minutes later, I called to confirm that it was the vehicle I was interested in and they indicated as much. Later in the day around 6 p.m. as I was headed back, I was checking the inventory at nearby dealerships one last time and saw that this vehicle was still available on all sites, including their own website (see picture). I dropped an email trying to confirm if the vehicle had indeed been sold or not because things often do fall through (e.g. financing couldn't be arranged or something else). A few minutes later, a person called me identifying himself as calling from Loughead Nissan and sternly demanded that I stop enquiring about the vehicle and added that the vehicle was being sold today for $30,000. Apart from the fact that it's impossible for a vehicle to sell at more than the list price ($29,130), I am truly shocked at how rude the person were. I am not the kind of person who takes offense easily but being rude with a customer for enquiring and then lying about selling a vehicle for more than the list price is SHOCKING. I had inquired about the availability of the vehicle only twice in the day - once via email and once via phone - and in both of those instances, the vehicle was still available on their webpage. If they really don't want to be "bothered" by their customers inquiring about their vehicles, they should do a better job of keeping their inventory more up-to-date. I am not sure who the person making the call was but behavior like this should not be tolerated and at a minimum, the person ought to be taught some customer-service skills. Again, if one thinks I am being unduly harsh one can see the many positive reviews that I have written for other dealerships such as Murray Kia of Conshohocken and John Kennedy Subaru. Update: I had a chat with the owner of the dealership on Tuesday re: my review. Private conversations ought to be private so I will not disclose what was discussed except to note that it did not cause me to rethink my review. The owner however came off as a bully because he tried dropping names of important figures at my workplace but unfortunately that did not impress me at all. Maybe those tactics work for others Mr. Loughead but not me. I also found that within a day of having posted my review, my email address was used to sign me up for an adult dating website. To the employee of the dealership who did that and is undoubtedly reading this review, what you are doing is not a joke or a prank. That is not how one should treat a fellow human being but because reminding you about the Golden rule (Matthew 7:12) may not work, let me also note that I will be reporting this to law enforcement for online harassment. read more

Matt Bonhage was the salesperson who assisted me in August and it was the smoothest, easiest transaction I have ever experienced. Matt was kind and patient and I ended up leaving with a brand new car and a great lease deal. They disclose in a special search area of their web page that an additional $1295 fee will be added to the price that is advertised to cover reconditioning of a CPO vehicle. I drove 60 min to the dealer and spent 1 hour test driving.... then sales rep spent 15 min with sales manager with add on of $1400 for being a certified used car. Normally I would not write a review. That being said I can't help but feel completely blindsided by this dealership. I've had the car since August 2018. I went in with a transmission leak which of course isn't covered by warranty they tell us would cover everything. I'm informed the transmission cover is held on by a shoestring and they would take any responsibility for this. Even since they are the only people who serviced this vehicle. After a battle on the phone with no ownership of their corner cutting, he threatened me by saying they will not repair the vehicle. Unless a man in the middle of the night decided to tie our transmission cover on with a shoestring I think this was handled poorly. If you are in the market for a Nissan (nice cars) do NOT go to this dealership. Save yourself the frustration. In addition to this, I got pulled over a few months back. The officer let me know I was driving around with "dead tags" we call the dealership and they claim to have tried to call us to give us new tags. They never called us, no message , no mail. I've been shopping around for a sport coupe for a while. I currently own a Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track and looking to get into something a little more...solid. I stopped here to see about test driving a 370z and was told by the sales manager, Dave, that test drives on that model and the GTR are only allowed after a deal has been worked out and the customer is ready to buy. The reasoning was that "no one wants to buy a sports car that's been driven by 10 people and has 200 miles on it" and "this method has us at the top of the sales for the 370z." I felt as though I was being talked to as if I were a child. 1. I will never...*never*...consider buying a car at a dealership that will not let me test drive it before discussing pricing or signing paperwork. 2. What's to stop me from agreeing to talk numbers, take it for a spin, and then say "Nope, don't want it" and walk out? 3. You do a huge disservice to the GTR when you compare it to a 370z. The cars are leagues apart and while I understand that the Z is a "performance" coupe, it's not in the same ballpark. There's no reason to tell prospective customers they can't get behind the wheel. 4. If you don't want people driving up the mileage on all your cars, invest in a demo vehicle. 5. Don't offer to "let me drive any Maxima or Altima I want" when I clearly am only interested in a particular model. I called up Chapman Nissan while I was still in the parking lot and set up a test drive within a half hour. The rep I spoke with at Chapman was fantastic, as was the test drive. I went in here today to ask about a 2014 model that didn't sell well. I knew they were in short supply, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. First, I waited for quite a while. There was no receptionist at the desk marked for one, and the only salesperson in the entire room was on the phone. Another woman (job unclear) paged sales several times, but no one appeared. When the one guy got off the phone, he waved me over. He didn't introduce himself. I told him what I was looking for. He said, "Yeah, can't help you." When I asked him to check the computer for other dealerships that might have it, he refused, saying that if I didn't buy it, he didn't "want to be stuck with it." He didn't offer to help me in any other way. The upside? First time I've ever been in a car dealership when I wasn't subjected to a hard sell. But that's the only positive thing I can say. read more

I had the worst experience today trying to by a car from this dealership. After driving 70 miles because the ad on Kelley Blue Book stated an advertised pice that was not what they were willing to sell the car for. I loved the car and was ready to pay the advertised price but was told that it did not include a $1295 "refurbishment " cost that would be added to a certified pre owned vehicle. Also another $450 dollars if I wanted to pay cash for the car and not finance it. So they added $1750 to the advertised price. No where in the Kelley Blue Book ad was this disclosed. It is totally misleading and deceitful. I'm shocked that a service like Kelley would put up with this. As far as Loughead is concerned it's bad business and I wouldn't trust them with my business. read more

We worked with Eileen (consultant) and Greg (manager). They made us work for our deal but for sales people they were nice. Eileen is a sweetheart and I'd recommend working with her if you decide to use Loughead Nissan to purchase a car. Buying a new car is never a great experience but these two didn't make it too painful. Its known that they have to make money and we have to get the best deal possible. We were able to negotiate an acceptable deal on our end and they tried their best to make us feel like we got a great deal and they gave away the farm. All and all, I've been through 10 new car transactions and this one was nowhere near the bottom. Definitely worth a stop if you're looking for a Nissan. Ask for Eileen. read more

Came in to test drive the Nissan Rogue on a Friday night; took 10 minutes of standing around in the showroom to even be approached by the sales manager. Then was passed on to Alex in sales and I explained to him that we were there strictly to test drive as we had a few other options to try before making a decision. He brought over a car to test drive that did not have many of the features I explained were important to me; when I asked questions about the cars and packages he did not have many answers. When we returned to the shop and I reported "not being sold" on the car he became visibly angry and even combative when I stated the reasons I was not yet sure about the rogue. He did not offer to run any numbers and did not even try to talk me in to the vehicle. Never even touched his computer because he said "well this obviously won't work out." 3 reasons why I do not like this dealership: 1. I first went to Loughead Nissan on a Saturday and parked in "Customer Parking". I get out of my car and a salesman approaches me and I thought 'wow what a nice welcome'. Only instead of this guy welcoming me to Loughead he said "You need to move your car, we need to get a car out of the salesroom."REALLY? I would rate them a 0 if possible. I came In alone Today, without my husband, to test drive a car. From the moment I arrived at the dealer, not a single guy sitting there got up to greet me. The poor service continued with the car salesman who was showing me a vehicle. Every question asked was answered with a short snarky remark. I suggested a different salesman because our personalities did not mesh. When his behavior continued I decided to leave the lot with out test driving the car. I have an Altima Hybrid. Called to schedule routine maintenance a week ahead of time. Specified I had an Altima HYBRID on the phone, and typically other dealers have told me a hybrid trained technician needs to be available when doing maintenance, and I wanted to make sure that one would be there that day. Person on phone tells me she has all the needed info. Dropped the car off the night before, get a call the next morning that they can't work on the car because no hybrid technician is there and I should have let them know my car is a hybrid. Now I have no means of transportation and am too far away to get the car and my day is lost. I wrote the owner to complain and asking for some compensation for my time and was told the same thing, that I should have told them ahead of time I had a hybrid and he offers me NOTHING for their screw up. I love my Nissan but avoid this dealership!!!!! read more

Bought a preowned car there two weeks ago., sales man was nice but the manager not so much, everything we asked for had to go through this manager who did not even speak to us, then they wanted me to take car without signing finance paperwork since it was 9pm and I had been theee for 3 hours. When I said I would come back for car when I signed for paperwork they told me they already transferred my old car to them,so I had to take it, next day in the light I see a little scratch and hole in the passenger rear bumper, I took picture and sent to salesman who said they would take care of it, when I went in a few days later to sign paperwork the fina,ce guy gave me an IOU For wash, detail,and fix of bumper. I called to arrange to have done and they inform me that I have to wait a week for bumper guy.,so I drop,off last night , the were nice enough to give a loaner, wait all day today and get no call that it is done .,so at 430 I call, they tell me car is detailed, and I ask about bumper they said they could not tell me why it was not fixed,that I needed to talk to salesman, now am transferred and told that it would have to be replacement they could not fix because on plastic, in which I sent a picture ahead of,time the day after I bought the car. Now I am told the only one who can make a decision on what can be done is a manager who is not there and could not be called. I was given an IOU so It will be fixed but this mysterious manager holds all the cards. What kind of customer service is this. I am very unsatisfied on how this is being handled.,I was told it would have to wait until tomorrow to be resolved., as I see it they owe me a fixed bumper no issue about it, just a matter of when it can be done,now that I have wasted an entire day waiting for a call I never got explaining an issue I did not know existed since I was told it would be done, there should be no question, it should be an apology that it was more than they thought(except for the picture I sent) and here is how and when we can fix it, but that is not what I got. I had an appointment for service and went to drop my car off. I was the only customer in the service area. The man acknowledged me, but asked me to wait until he had completed some other paperwork which took a few minutes. I don't know why he couldn't put the paperwork aside, wait on me, and then return to it after I left. Not only was I left waiting, but my ride was waiting. I have bought several vehicles at Loughead. I have NEVER had a bad experience. The service department is terrific. I started buying from this dealership in 1999 when they had the Pontiac dealership on Baltimore Pike. When Pontiacs were no longer being made, I switched to Nissan. I will tell you that the dealership from the sales professionals to the service department are top notch. They bend backwards for their customers in any way they can to help. 1. Buyer Beware. I purchased a Maxima from this dealership and they did not provide a Carfax. I should have insisted upon this as when I resold my car, I learned for the first time that the vehicle had been previously involved in a major car accident and only had a salvage title. 2. After purchasing the car, to add insult to injury, the service department manager was rude, dishonest and conniving, and the salespeople supported his behavior. They truly don't believe in the mantra: "The Customer is always right," nor are they fair. 3. I went in for an oil change and was upsold some $300. service package I didn't need - my fault - fair enough - i should have put my foot down and said no. I had an appointment , But then was kept waiting 2.5 hours for an oil change (if it will be that long i think they should tell you ) When my husband went up to question the up selling because he never experienced that when he took his car in - the owner was extremely arrogant and rude. My husband told him we have been buying cars there for almost 30 years - and he said he didn't care!! (he must tell lots of people this based on the many salesmen I saw sitting at desks doing nothing!) We have sent many friends and family members there over the years - but there are PLENTY of dealerships in the area - I recommend going to one that cares more about loyal customers. read more

I wrote a scathing review of Loughead Nissan on August 13th, 2015 about my experience. At the time I hadn't known all of the details involved in my particular case. However, I took to several review boards. The President himself called me in to discuss my matter, and he really took his time and went step by step. Through no fault of theirs, things went awry. The deal fell through, really based on steps that I took following receipt of the Swap Program offer. For example: The Swap Program is for individuals that have been paying on a loan for a certain period of time. During that period between them mailing it to me and actually going in; I refinanced my car. This made the opportunity null and void. Furthermore, it is for individuals with one car loan...I co-signed on my girlfriends car loan. Again, nullifying the process. However, the computer nor I could know that this would happen. Ted Loughead was a stand up guy and called me in as a man and we talked...for a couple of hours. There were a few other unforeseen issues, but I just want to recant my earlier review. I learned a lot from this, and Ted Loughead. My apologies sir!Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Drove vehicle into dealership 6/12/2"19 for routine maintenance on my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. There were no codes or lights on the vehicle. I went to get fluids checked and roped off if needed. I was contacted by service manager Julian and informed that I would need a transmission replacement! I inquired as to how this could happened in a matter of moments after dropping the car off. Julian then advised that he found a "code" after diagnosing the vehicle without my knowledge or consent. I immediately told him to seize any further activity with my car and I came back to pick it up. $190 later, I was reunited with my vehicle, and 2 hours later my transmission was blown !!! The next day I contacted Julus and Ted Loughead and informed them of what happened the prior day. I was contacted back by Ted loughead only to be blamed for what happened. He even had the audacity to ask me to admit guilt of something that was not true, so no only does this dealership lack capable mechanics to advise and service vehicles, it blames the customers for this ! I could have taken my care to a mom and pop shop instead of NISSAN if I would have known this is the treatment I would receive. Bought my car here in 2008 - a pleasant experience so I remained a loyal customer until this month, driving 25 min for service rather than going to the Nissan dealer near my house ( despite a somewhat dubious $1800 repair a couple of years ago). But...no more! Last time I was in for routine service, I asked about replacing the door handle that was coming loose. Service informed me that it required replacing the entire lock assembly and it would cost approximately $600. That didn't sound right to me since there was no problem w/the lock. So I googled and found that door handles for my car cost about $20-30. I went to Conicelli in Plymouth Meeting (where I had bought a replacement visor once) and they looked at it and ordered the part. When I picked it up, I wasn't sure how to install it so a service person came out and looked and asked me if I could wait while they did it, since it was a bit more complicated than I'd realized.
