Yesterday, I started a project with zero planning and preparation (isn't that how it goes?) and midway through, I realized I needed to run to Ace for silicone sealant and to figure out how to modify my plumbing to convert a double-basin, double drain to a single. I was in and out in no time with the right stuff and had the sink installed and water flowing again in no time. I love this place specifically for the friendly faces who are always willing to help and actually know stuff. The Ace Rewards program and app are also great. When I'm not flying by the seat of my pants on DIY projects, I earn airline miles through the AA Shopping site when I order ahead online for pickup. Being in the mountains, things can get pricey, but I appreciate the fairly reasonable prices on the necessities here.

The customer service is usually good. I have encountered employees here before who were less than stellar but for the most part, they greet you at the door and are always willing to help you. The store has gotten better at organizing their displays over the years but finding what you need can still be troublesome at times. As stated above, the employees are always on hand to help you out. I do wish they would implement contactless payment (Apple Pay). Not necessarily because of covid but because it's how I prefer to pay these days and they are one of the final hold outs in town integrating this.

Well knowing that there is a convenient, well stocked hardware store right here in town is wonderful. Our local True Value is huge and carries the most amazing variety of products for all types of home improvement. It is really like having a mini Lowe's right here in town but with friendly people who actually know where things are and how to use them. Not only do they carry the usual nuts and bolts and nails and tools, but they also carry arts and craft supplies. They also have a nice selection of seasonal items and decorative items. The store is open and well laid out. Most things seem to be shelved in logical groupings and if you can't find something, staff always know where to look. They are open seven days a week. Prices are higher than the big box stores, but the convenience of not having to drive for an hour makes it a great alternative.

The price tag was $1.59, over $1 more than at Home Depot or anywhere else, really. When I went to check out, it rang up as $9.99! I said, "That's an insane price; the tag said it's $1.59." This Flock of Seagulls ex-band member told me, "That's the price!" A simple price check would have resolved this without issue, but that was not in the cards, apparently. And anyone who knows building supplies would have known how insane that price was. Hire people who know hardware and building supplies. I had to track down a manager myself to get this resolved, which was embarrassing show of their customer service. For 10 months I've been paying their "mountain prices" for the convenience of them being local--no more. I'd rather take a 1.5-hour round trip than deal with rude service and inflated prices. I'm constantly getting discounts via the app and coupons sent through the mail, and I've also been able to compound all of my rewards points, with other special offers. One time I came in here and I bought $40 worth of stuff, and with all the discounts, and knocked it down to just under 13 bucks! I have always been greeted as I walked through the door and asked if I needed help finding anything. They take the time and effort to talk you through your project and they will help you find what you need. If they do not have what you're looking for, they will point you in the right direction of another hardware store! They are really friendly and helpful. Never had a bad experience here!
