Louie's nursery is quite a find. It seems that Lowe's and Home depo basically carry the same plants and it is hard to find different plants anywhere. Well Louie's takes care of that problem. I was quite delighted to see some hard to find plants at Louie's nursery so my house landscaping isn't a cookie cutter of everyone else. The staff are helpful and very knowledgeable. Some of their prices might be a tad more, but not much more (I found some Aloe Vera that were discounted at a great price) and the variety of plants you can find here make it worth it. read more

I was accused of misrepresenting my claim that their 50/50 soil contained a combination of gravel and grit (whatever it is. I didn't taste it.) to form a crust over my backyard after a rain. It was sold as the best choice for new lawns. It looks like construction material. Of course, it's all covered up now, but this is a picture of the soil as it responded to the rain coming off my patio overhead. It also accumulated around the catch basins of my French Drain. You can feel it below the surface when you try to aerate the soil. The water washes away the soil, and the grit comes to the top, forming a crust that prohibits even water saturation for the grass seed to germinate and take root evenly. I installed two truckloads of this 50/50 soil, so I got tons of this stuff encrusting my backyard. After several truck deliveries of soil, I had to go back numerous times to buy the organic soil in buckets to mix in so I could loosen the soil. After about 10 times of doing this, I approached the owner to intervene. My attempt at a resolution was that I be given enough organic soil to mix in to render the encrustation of no effect. Two yards at the most, which would have been 60.00 retail. I would do the work. Instead, I got attitude and they acted like they were doing me a favor by selling me the organic soil in buckets. read more

Louie's Nursery is a family business, which has a tremendous selection of shrubs, fruit trees, palms and drought tolerant trees. We've found their prices are very fair and reasonable. They will deliver your order to your driveway, however they do not plant them. We really enjoy their variety, for a better price than Lowe's and Home Depot. I do not believe these positive reviews, my friend bought a plant that did not make it. Of course, they do not offer any type of warranty for their plants. My friend wanted to get at least store credit, but they laughed at them. They did not respond to their written request. I went there myself and checked and their signs are not always visible, so anyone can buy and then get surprised later. My friend bought the plant for 80yo mother and I do not have to say the rest. I am strongly encouraging my friend to take them to court. read more

On Sunday, March 16, 2025, I went to Louie's Nursery and purchased several ceramic planter pots. I asked the cashier if the pots could be wrapped in paper to avoid breakage. I was informed that they have no paper. So I asked if they could wrap each pot using a plastic bag. The cashier kindly accommodated my request. Then, suddenly, Richard Gomes (apparently one of the managers) blurted out "Those bags are expensive!" I was shocked by what he said and responded to him by saying, "What an inappropriate thing to say to a customer!" Here is a suggestion to management: If you don't want to use plastic bags to wrap breakable or fragile merchandise, please consider carrying reams or rolls of butcher paper to wrap such items. I'm disappointed in Richard's unprofessional and rude behavior; other customers at the checkout witnessed his untoward behavior as well. Side note: The other employees were friendly, professional, and customer service oriented. read more

Three days later the Rose we bought from here DIE. *** So I'll never return back again *** Last Saturday morning (March 27) I bought a medium size new Rose among others plants to renew our roses and flowers garden. I planted immediately, put rose fertilizer as recommended and watered as indicated in the label. The very next day I notice the leaves fall down and then after 4-5 days check the picture. I can understand some plants don't adapt or something, in our house probable after 50 plants this is the only one who died after 5 days in 7 years. This week I called to the nursery to let them now and get some advise and the answer simply was - in summary: "So sorry, we don't guarantee any of our plants unless we planted - for a fee - and you should have done something wrong . The nursery take no responsibility and this was my only fault. There is nothing to do and, sorry again there is nothing to do and good luck" I expect and understand things happened with plants, but the answer from the nursery got me frozen. By the way, you can argue with Lowes and Home Depot but they support their customers. read more

I have bought a few plants at Louie's over the past few years. They have a great selection, but more importantly they offer great advice and friendly service. I recently bought an Aprium tree (I was amazed they knew what it was let alone had them available) and had it delivered and installed. I had a huge stump from a fruitless plum tree that they removed in a tenth of the time it would have taken me to do so. My wife and I decided to spruce up our patio and found Louie's on Apple Maps. We arrived and the place was packed. The employees could be seen helping everyone with their planes. We walked around and am employee came up to us to ensure we were being helped, we explained we were no green thumbs and needed some help in giving color to our patio. She made her recommendations and we began looking. After we found some agave plants and senecio Serpens, we looked for pots to place them in, another employee came to help us find the right colors. He helped us and answered more questions we had in caring for the plants. We found the pots we needed and three more employees also came up to help load our plants and recommend potting soil, etc. Overall is was a great experience and I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone trying to give life to their yard/patio, etc!
