Huge shoutout to Ramona at the Home Depot -- give that woman a cape because she is clearly a superhero in an orange apron. I walked in expecting a normal trip (you know... grab one thing, leave with ten), but Ramona turned it into a VIP experience. She didn't just point me in the right direction--she practically escorted me through the wilderness of aisles like a seasoned tour guide who actually cares if you survive. Need help? She's already there. Got a question? She's three steps ahead with an answer, a backup plan, and probably a better idea than what you came in for. At one point I was convinced she might secretly run the whole store. Customer service like that is rare these days--Ramona didn't just go above and beyond, she packed a lunch and stayed there. If every Home Depot had a Ramona, bro DIY projects would be so much easier. 10/10 would get lost in the store to be rescued by her. read more

Very disappointing experience at Home Depot tonight. I came in around 7:00 PM to purchase lumber and several other large items. My cart was completely loaded with lumber, so I naturally went toward the registers by the oversized/lumber exit where a cart like this can actually fit. I was told by the manager that those registers were closed for the day and that I needed to take my fully loaded lumber cart through the regular checkout aisles. Of course, the cart didn't fit. Instead of simply opening a register near the lumber exit, an employee had to help me by writing down every single item on a piece of paper so they could ring everything up at another register. What bothered me the most was the manager's attitude. There was no effort to help or find a reasonable solution just, "Sorry, those registers are closed for the day." Thankfully, another employee actually stepped in and helped me. I'm a paying customer purchasing a large amount of merchandise. I shouldn't be made to feel like helping me is an inconvenience, especially when I'm buying items that are specifically difficult to take through a normal checkout lane. I also have to say that the way I was spoken to left me wondering whether I would have been treated the same way if I weren't Hispanic. I don't make that accusation lightly, but no customer should leave a store feeling talked down to or treated as though their business doesn't matter. Home Depot needs to do better when it comes to customer service and making sure managers are actually willing to help customers especially customers purchasing lumber and oversized items. read more

By far the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. For starters, we ordered custom blinds and were advised it would take 6-8 weeks. We understood the process and were willing to wait for installation. Suzanne called one month later leaving a voicemail and advising all of the blinds were all delivered and we would be scheduled for installation. A few days later Suzanne calls again leaving another voicemail but this time she is stating the blinds are lost in customs somewhere in Tennessee and there's no estimated arrival. We were thoroughly confused considering less than a week prior Suzanne had called and scheduled the installation. I decided to call for clarification on the status of the blinds. Immediately Suzanne was rude, combative and extremely unprofessional. She stated half of the blinds had arrived and she scheduled the installation however this information was NEVER relayed to us. We wouldn't have scheduled blinds for a half installation but rather waited for the entire shipment to arrive. I explained to Suzanne that she never told my husband or I that it was a partial delivery. Suzanne became defensive, called my husband and I liars when we advised her she misinformed us regarding the blinds. Meanwhile we have the voicemail documenting Suzanne stated all blinds were delivered. My husband and I had both taken the day off of work to be there for the blinds installation which was not an easy task due to my husband being in the military. We requested to speak to a manager and spoke to Ramona. She gave the run around about how sorry they were and it's not a reflection of their beliefs of customer service. Ramona also stated the store manager, Mario, would call us directly by the end of the day or no later than the following day. We did not hear from Mario or Ramona and had to call back. We were advised it was "on Mario's to do list to get done" but crickets. Needless to say I will NEVER shop at this location again. The blatant unprofessionalism and lack of value for the customers is astonishing. But does management care? No, they don't. The behavior and blatant disrespect Suzanne displayed is cleared condoned and accepted by Ramona, Mario and all management. Save your money and go to a different location or different store all together. read more

Love coming here for their garden center except this past visit I saw that many plants (mostly the inside ones) are not faring well/dying/broken stems/crispy leaves. The service is a hit or miss here as well because we've encountered some employees that should go back to customer service training, but the girls at self checkout this visit were all super nice and helpful even helped my husband set up his account for military discount on his phone instead of just shoving him off to customer service which we appreciated their time and effort. Highly recommend not using the home delivery service. I ordered the 61 inch heavy duty tool chest. When I received the delivery it was severely damaged. Not sure why they don't use delivery blankets or strapped the tool box down. My neighbor ordered a tool box as well and the same thing happened to him but his tool box fell forward face down damaging the box. read more

This Home Depot is brand new and conveniently located at the junction of the 215 and Clinton Keith Road. The store is expansive, with countless products for all your home improvement needs. I ordered 20 bags of mulch, as part of the spring sale, but could not pick it up until the weekend. Ashley was prompt, professional and courteous, assisting me in retrieving my order. She and her colleague, Christian, assisting with carefully placing the bags in my vehicle, avoiding any mess. Excellent service, value, and location. This was an excellent experience. If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Home Depot has been beyond frustrating and flat-out unacceptable. I was scammed by one of their contracted service providers, and instead of helping me resolve the issue, I was bounced around from one customer service rep to another, each one less helpful than the last. No one took ownership, no one followed through, and every time I called, I had to start from scratch, explaining the entire situation again and again. Tired of the runaround, I took matters into my own hands and emailed Home Depot corporate directly, only to get a lazy, copy-paste response of "we are working on it." That was the last I ever heard from them. No follow-up. No solution. No accountability. Just silence. Home Depot clearly does not care about their customers once they've taken your money. The lack of urgency and basic professionalism is appalling. If you're considering using Home Depot for any kind of installation or contracted service, run the other way. Their customer service is a black hole, and their "guarantees" mean absolutely nothing when something goes wrong. Save yourself the stress. Rented a mini excavator for pick up the following day. I sent my contractor to pick it but because his drivers license did not match the truck registration they would not give it to him. lost a days work. I then reserved the same equipment for the following Monday. also reserved a pickup truck so that I could haul it myself. someone came in on Sunday and wanted the machine so Home Depot canceled my reservation and gave the machine to someone that did not have it reserved. going to lose another day of work tomorrow. Riley is the best worker there!!!! I walked in very stressed out because my key fob broke and I did not know how to replace the battery and with confidence she said I've got this. She was so knowledgeable and quick and just got me the battery I needed and even went out of her way to help me replace it! I said how??? I visited a different Home Depot this morning because I needed another wall lantern. I've been to the Home Depot on Madison a bunch of times without any issues. But today, when I went in to grab the lantern and return something from another location, the return staff were fine. However, when I got to the self-checkout to exit the store, I mentioned what I bought, and the employee asked to see my receipt. It felt like I was being singled out because I'm a woman of color. I guess this is what I get for not going to my Madison store and trying out the new store off of Clinton Keith. I will say that the Madison location has absolutely exceptional customer service. I've been shopping there since 2009. I recently just tried the new location and I was pretty disappointed in their customer service. I can describe it as politely rude. or them, just super annoyed and having to help. I'm definitely not happy with the service provided for me this morning when I had called to cancel part of an order, we had purchased some items online for pick up at the Clinton Keith store, after calling the store ahead of time we were told no problem they would be able to help us out over the phone to avoid the drive. Nope, guess not. I will update my review after I go in to the location and try to get this resolved at customer service. Ordering online made easy but canceling made difficult bottom line. read more

She brought us to Christina at the front, and within 7 minutes total, the issue was completely resolved. Both were friendly, efficient, and genuinely cared--not just about the transaction, but about the experience. Danette even suggested the Mother's Day birdhouse activity for my 7-year-old daughter, and later stopped by while we were building to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. That kind of authentic service is rare. It turned a frustrating problem into a highlight of our day. This is why I shop at Home Depot. Flooring Department, went in got a quote on laminate flooring and installation for our home. We were told flooring and other necessary items needed to be special order and that it would take 2 weeks and we would be notified when we could pick up. Once we pick up the order we could schedule for installation. I got a call back that our order was ready for pick up so I scheduled for the installation. I went to pick up the materials and not all my order was in. This delayed installation by 1 1/2 weeks. Once we did get the rest of the materials I scheduled for the installation. Installers arrived to and ripped out carpet and as they are prepping the floor for installation they notice the floors are uneven. They call their manager to come out and look at the floors and he said that he could not proceed with installation because floors are uneven and it is out of their scope to level them. By now I have taken a week off work and prepaid $7,500.00 for new flooring to be installed. I was told that I needed to hire a contractor to come out and level the floors before prior to installation. Contractor charged $1,370.00 to level the floors. Floors pass inspection and now the installation is delayed an additional week. When brought to Home Depot's attention they said that unforeseen costs and delays may take place. This was not explained to us, we were sold on a total package which included demolition, materials and installation. Home Depot's response we will refund you $370.00 to help the cost of leveling the floors. Long story short another week before we get our floors installed, out an extra thousand and I will never use Home Depot for any type of installation or work needed I think Lowe's will have my business from now on. In fact the contractor that came out to level the floors said we were over charged by 3-4 thousand and he could do the job with more sturdy materials. read more
