We stopped by Louie's and had the meatball grinder. This is no ordinary meatball sub. The meatballs are sliced thin, just enough sauce, and the sub roll was crispy, crunchy and flaky. Hands down the BEST meatball sub I've ever had, and that's saying a lot! When you stop in, say Hi to Colin. He's not just an amazing person but a great ambassador for Louie's. The service was fast, made to order, came out hot & fresh. The vibe is family friendly, unpretentious and authentic. Did I mention they've been in business 52 years?! The quality of the food and the friendly, helpful vibe is clearly a testament of their longevity and commitment to excellence. Slice & Drink Review Louie's is definitely a blast from the past. The dining room is straight out of 1970, and the walk up takeout right next door, at least a few decades older. The black and whites on the walls feel right out of a 50's newsreel. I love all that historic stuff from my own childhood, so it pleased me to go back in time for a little bit. I needed a slice and diet to carry me through the late afternoon and Louie's was right in front of me when we parked near the boards at the top of Rehoboth Ave. I knew nothing about pizza at this shore, but my Jersey roots made me comfortable it would be decent. The reheat on the mushroom slice was strong enough to crisp the firm scorched crust back to life, and allowed the mozzarella to sweat and melt, while the sliced dark schrooms remained embedded in the surrounding cheese. It was a smaller than expected triangle, but the taste and texture were fine. The crust was somewhat airy with a nice crunch; the red sauce wasn't memorable. Five bites and it was gone. This review is for take out slices only! It was the end of the night and we wanted a quick bite before heading back to the hotel. At almost 10pm they weren't cooking pizzas anymore so we got 3 pepperoni slices to go. They warmed it up in the oven and gave it to us in boxes. Best grinders/subs at the beach. Lots of topping options and a variety of peppers. My family loves the cheesesteaks, and Italian grinders. They take cash or charge - which is so convenient- and recently started a rewards program - for those who are into that. Have been enjoying Louie's at least once every summer for over 20 years. It was time to update my review ... as this family favorite has only improved with time. In fact, I recently learned that they source many of their ingredients from local produce providers. We ordered take out but at time of picking up the food I decided to ask if we could dine in since it was very cold outside and young fella said it was ok. We were thinking on getting rest of food or drinks in dining area. As we sat down and got ready to eat another young guy came to us and told us that's not how it works, "you dine in you, order from the server and we bring the food, that we cannot do that" buy from carry out. I asked him if it was about spending money or what was the issue, that is the same owner and money goes to same business. Also told him that it was about eating comfortable at the end my girlfriend got up, as he mention "I guess is ok" but the bad experience infront of other customers had already happened. Been coming here for a quick slice during the years but after renting a place for the week we ordered in twice. Chicken cheesesteak was delicious and everyone ordered gyros which was surprising because who gets gyros from a pizza joint? But everyone loved them that they ordered them the second time. The pizza was really good and cooked well considering we walked a few blocks to bring it home. Even on a busy Friday night our order was ready in like 45 minutes. I didn't have to deal directly with the staff so I can't comment to that but they did have a dedicated take out/away window which streamlined the process, as did the online ordering option. read more

been eating at Louies since I was a teen (now 61) by far the best pizza in Rehoboth Beach Delaware. I've never had a bad experience with weight staff or the owners in all that time. Excellent authentic mom and pop pizzeria. My cheesesteak was out of this world as was the service. I highly recommend them.

1. found hair on soda cup. should have been a warning. 2. waited 30 min for food bc the waitress forgot to take our order. 3. as soon as we get our food and wife breaks off a piece of crust find more hair baked into the crust. we didn't eat, or rather couldn't eat. lost our appetite altogether. paid $9.50 for our sodas and just left. wasted so much of our time and patience. they were apologetic but doesn't mean anything after the aggravation in response to the owner/manager. we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for our pizza. as you said, that pizza takes a while. your waitress took drink order promptly. she then took the orders of 3 tables that came in after us. and i had to ask her to take our order in which she apologized for. regardless of who my baseball team is or my taste in music, you served food with hair in our pizza. it may have been a blessing since people in the arcade overheard my wife and i talking about it and they said your place has that kind of a reputation. maybe you should get your beard in check too. yes i did copy and paste this review to google. surprisingly, my opinion didn't change much when i went from yelp to google so i figured i'd save some time since you wasted so much of it good luck to you read more

There was a hair baked into the crust of my pizza. Since the manager claims he reviewed the camera on the previous review... I know that's bs because if you really review your cameras, you will see that once the soda was delivered, I CLEARLY SAID.. THERE IS A hair stuck to the styrofoam cup... there should be a clip of me pulling the hair off and my husband asking if I should get another soda but since it was on the outside of the cup so it was forgivable and not a big deal. However after taking the order of every table that came after us first and receiving our food last... which manager claims takes longer to cook, ok fine but does not seem to understand the concept of FIRST come first serve which was the argument; we ordered a pizza with 6 toppings or whatever (the Louie special w/hair) I ripped the crust to cool it down and feed my baby and there was a hair baked right into it. Husband was super annoyed at this point and I was turned off by it and completely lost my appetite. Manager comped it as if I would actually consume it if they comp it..?? Comping seems standard since we were didn't even bite into it and the hair... can't get past the hair in the crust. Whatever, it's a small pizzeria in a beach town; if I wanted michelin rated this wouldn't be it but the manager missed the mark here. We came in for a local pizza joint instead of grotto's across the street. We came in for a good Delaware pie and was served an unsanitary pizza and a questionable response on my husband's hat and profile pic which is completely irrelevant to the food. Weird take.
