This is simply the best classic pizza place in Dewey Beach. The pizzas are always topped with a boatload of ingredients and is cheesy. The crust is delicious too! The folks here are great and very patient even when it gets crowded late night. The place is relatively clean but no frills limited seating- mostly carry out. read more

Personal opinion, I really liked the pizza! For $20 large pizza cut into 8 slices and the large IS Large! Ordered the gourmet ricotta garlic cheese and we all agreed it was soo good! Would love to try other pizza and pasta next time I'm back in the area! Limited seeing inside so probably best to pick up. Clean, very friendly and sweet person who made sure I had everything I needed. :) read more

Pizza was surprisingly good. The dough wasn't too thick, nor did the pizzas taste greasy. Service was decent, we did a takeout and ordered inside. They quoted 20 min but order was ready in 15. Ambiance is what you expect, casual. A few things to be aware of, pizza prices are higher than normal places, their large pizza is smaller than the individual slices they sell, lastly they charge 5% fee for all credit card transactions. Pizza by the slice. Great if you are hungry and in a hurry. Wide varietiy of pizza slices ready to go but nothing special in flavor or ingredients. Note: the mushrooms are not good. Thiis place is much better during the summer when pizza is made hot and fresh out of the oven. Truly the best in Dewey. Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise. I grew up on Mama Celestes, but (sorry Mama), Franco is, and always will be, my late night pizza go to. Food (7/10): When it comes to a delicious late night slice, Franco's is ALWAYS the way to go. They always have a huge variety of fresh pies ready for order. I love their buffalo chicken pizza and their spinach, mozzarella, and tomato pizza the best. You can't go wrong with any, though. A classic slice of pepperoni from Franco's always goes a long way as well. Franco's GARLIC NUTS are also fire. Atmosphere (5/10): 5/10 here is not meant to be a bad score. I have been to fine dining that I have only given a 6 or 7 and so the fact that Franco's goes home with a 5 in atmosphere is actually a home run. While it doesn't seem all that clean and the late night Spanish pop music on BLAST is sometimes too much, I can't help but appreciate the sense of community felt when in Franco's. After a great night out on the Dewey town, people of all ages congregate in the Franco's/Wings-to-Go parking lot for some post-bar conversation and company. Yes, there are often dozens of "cops" standing there waiting to catch the first overly drunk person they see. Yes, the line is sometimes long and people are bumping into you left and right. But, ALSO YES, you can sit and relax on the curb while eating your Franco's slice. And, ALSO YES, the Ubers come right into the parking lot to fetch you (and often don't mind if you enjoy the last few bites of your Franco's slice in their car). Service (4/10): Franco's service is average at best. They are always out of garlic nuts if I go too late, which really upsets me every time. I've never had a cold slice (but I'm also always in a sate that wouldn't care if it wasn't hot enough). All I can say, is that if I ever meet Franco, I'd love to share a slice with him. read more

I lived in Dewey in my early 20's (because that was every Delaware kids dream back then). This place is great when coming back from the starboard, rudder or bottle and cork. This is the place to go after a long night of drinking and pretty much the only option. I was lucky enough to visit again in my late thirty's and the pizza was just as tasty (again after a long night drinking and seeing live music). We all sat in the balcony of our condo and devoured the greasy hangover cure that is still cheap and comes out in a timely manner. read more

We wanted a quick sandwich so we tried Franco. It was not busy in the afternoon and we ordered a Phily Cheese steak sandwich to take back to the hotel pool. The guy said about 15 minutes. Huh, I though, well it must be fresh and not a bowl of steak in the back. I was right, we came back in about 10 minutes and he was just finishing with the sandwich. $10.50 and it was about the size of my forearm. My wife and I split it and it was fantastic. Not greasy at all and full of flavor. The bread, even though I am not sure tasted just like it was made in house. This place is back in the corner but look for it and don't pass this one up for Pizza and sandwiches. read more

A dirty flop of burnt cardboard pizza. Couldn't taste the sauce or cheese just the burnt bottom. Better off grabbing a frozen pizza at this point. It's comparable to tombstone pizza that you leave in the oven for too long. read more

Always come here in the summer for the food and it's always worth it. For my taste the pizza is never super greasy like some in the area I've tried and it's always fresh. Going after a day at the beach is the cherry on top and usually have the place to yourself. read more

The slices at Mama Maria's are a little better, but their customer service sucks, so I wandered over to Nick's, but the guy behind the counter had the attitude of used toilet paper, so that's how I wound up at Franco's. This little pizza place is probably one of the worst in the Delaware beach area. The pizza itself was just plain bad. I got the BBQ chicken and pepperoni. BBQ sauce on the slice was like a pool, way too much, and the chicken was dry and disgusting. The sauce on the pepperoni was bland and bad. On top of that, they played music extremely loud, so loud I couldn't talk to my girlfriend that I was sitting next to. read more
