Went to this dealership to buy a new 2025 Crosstrek Wilderness. I walked all over the parking lot looking at the Crosstreks and not a single person was willing to come out and speak to me. I was the only person there shopping and I could see the salesmen standing in the showroom watching me. I went across the street to the used car lot where they had overflow new cars and the salesman over there just watched me as well. Still charged because my mirror fell down and my windshield wiper wash wasn't connected. $85 because they had to *run diagnostics* to reconnect these things apparently. Took our pristine single-owner Outback in for an airbag recall and got it back with the radio display panel and dash scratched and gouged and a bug stuck inside the area by the tachometer. We were told MAYBE we could get an "oil change or something," but they can't get the parts to fix what they damaged. No offer to get the bug out of the dash or clean up their greasy fingerprints... Other Subaru dealerships have the parts for sale. Staff and management showed ZERO accountability for their negligence and wanted to argue instead of present solutions. It was clear we were getting nowhere with the available representatives, so we left to research the damaged parts on our own. Will update this review based on dealer response. STEER CLEAR! read more

I've had four interactions with this place and only one of them was good. I got my oil changed here back in 2015. The oil got changed but it was a lackluster experience. The waiting area is sparse and dingy. None of the amenities I'm used to at other Subaru dealerships. Then this year I tried to go there for an oil change. They wanted to schedule me 2 weeks out and acted like that was perfectly normal. My regular dealership I go to you can just drop in at any time if all you need is an oil change. Not sure why they make it such a hassle here or why they don't seem to have a sense of urgency. On another occasion this year they almost redeemed themselves. My Impreza's transmission went out in Logan, Ohio and I had it towed back to them. Dropped it off after hours. They called me first thing the next morning already knowing what needed fixed and had a quote ready. The car was ready to pick up in just a few hours. Note: They do NOT do loaner cars here or have a courtesy shuttle which is expected at other Subaru dealerships. After that boost of my confidence in them I thought I'd give them another shot. Had a bad oil sending unit. Called to make an appointment and once again they wanted to schedule two weeks out. I told them I couldn't go two weeks without a car and they acted like they couldn't care if I came there or not. Also, this place does not have online scheduling for service. The website says they are implementing a new system but it's said that for months. Worse, when you call the direct number for service, it sends you to the main switchboard. You then have to be transferred to service, who will again transfer you to the appointment scheduler. Just a pain really. read more

He had the part and worked my car in right after lunch. He arranged for a loaner so we could go out for lunch. Got car back by 4 pm and headed on our way. read more

my experience with Louis Thomas subaru is not good. I have a 2014 Subaru outback with only 60,000 miles and while visiting family on a thanksgiving vacation the transmission and the emergency brake system both decided to quit working on Sunday morning. Louis Thomas Subaru being the only Subaru dealership around Is where I had it towed. I just bought the car in August paid for the premium extended warranty thinking that would cover my repairs when I talk to the dealership on Monday morning I went and prepared with my extended warranty documentation and hope. I was met with almost feeling of annoyance and told they were shorthanded and probably wouldn't even get to look at it today and on my way I went to figure out transportation options for the remainder of my vacation on Tuesday during my research I find out this is a common problem with 20/14 and this is covered under an extended factory warranty in Subaru should issue a loaner car for factory warranty work when I called in to inquire I was told well I think we're all out and it's already 430 I said what about tomorrow we'll see they said when I called on Wednesday I was told because I live four hours away they could not issue me one even though I was staying in the area and my car should be done Friday fast forward 10 days cars supposedly fixed new transmission on my way home from work this evening transmission goes out again so after a roughly 250 mile drive home and a 16 mile round-trip to and from work for seven days My new transmission which was remanufactured by the way only lasted 362 miles looks like their attitude is only surpassed by their craftsmanship. I've owned Subaru since I got my drivers license 30 years ago 3 legacies and and this outback and never has it left a sour taste in my mouth until now. read more

i am not at all pleased with this dealership. The moment you step on the lot you are assessed superficially determining if you're worth their time to engage in conversation. They determine your financial value from the way you dress or the way you come on the lot. They like to brag about how much they do for the community but they pick and choose what gets publicity and the hell with what don't . It's sad the junior high school in their district - Vandevendar one of the most struggling schools in the area can't get them to help out with anything. They couldn't even afford to recognize the children with good grades because they had no funding to purchase the awards-they reach out to Subaru but nothing. No community involvement in the trunk or treats or any of the events the other lots on 7th participate in. If you ever visit a Subaru in another city you can definitely see they are excited about the vehicles they sale -the lots are exciting and enticing for the products they showcase . I didn't even know the lot by service was part of the car lot till I bought my new car. They just don't care what they look like, 1 thought it was all service cars . The other side of the street I thought was the car lot, looks like one. Subaru Dublin is worth the drive. These guys in Parkersburg think they are holier than thou. Sickening. read more

Took 1 car there 1 time. They did good. Fixed stuff a local Athens, Ohio shop messed up. (Local non-dealer shop claims Subaru expertise, but actually ruined control modules on the car.) I had to go to dealer. Expensive as hell! But Good work. read more

Louis Thomas Subaru is the ONLY place I will go to for a purchase of a vehicle. I am on my 3rd vehicle from them. Always great service, personable, helpful and not pressured. Service department has always gotten us in a timely manner, always reviews what they are doing and is always professional. We have referred many people to this dealership and will continue to do so. I have dealt with this Subaru dealership for 30+ years. I have ALWAYS found them to be honest and straight-forward. I have not always liked the info they had to give me about the car's ailments, but they never led me astray. (Actually, I have had very few mechanical problems with the 8 Subarus I have owned). The service department is friendly, good & reliable, if somewhat over-burdened. Louis Thomas himself is the consummate salesman, smooth and smart. His sons who are both salesmen there are not nearly as impressive, and their arrogance is unwarranted and off-putting. read more

They cross threaded/stretched most of my lugs and then were going to charge an arm and a leg in order to fix it as they wouldn't warrant this. My wife and I had bought 2 cars though them and had all of our car work done by them. Never again! We are going to Jenkins Subaru in Bridgeport WV. read more

Don't take your Subaru here for repairs total rip off. I had to take my Subaru in for a recall and I also had a repair that need done to tie rod. I could have bought the parts online for a total of $156 and spent about 2 hours installing them. They charged $600 labor!!! My local mechanic told me he would have done the whole job for $350 including parts . read more

I would give it zero stars if I could. The service department was amazingly sweet and helpful. The owner's son Louis Jr was incredibly rude! I was getting my car inspected and I like to keep an eye on my car while it's being serviced. So I was in the showroom sitting down and watching them do the inspection. Apparently he didn't like me sitting there and told the service members (right in front of me) that I was pouting in the showroom. Wtf makes your company think it's okay to treat customers that way?! Lovely quick and efficient service from qualified technicians!! I am always skeptical when going to a shop for repairs (I have had so many bad experiences in my life). After speaking with Randy, I felt very confident about his opinion of my young daughters car and what needed to be done to keep the car a safe vehicle for her. When I bought a new Subaru from this dealership I thought I was getting a good vehicle that would last a long time. Not long after, I was having to put 1-2 quarts of oil in it in between oil changes. I went to the service dept and spoke with Randy, the service dept manager. He told me that was normal. I knew it wasn't normal because I never had to do that with any of my other cars over the years. If he would have been honest and told me that it was normal for SUBARU'S I would have said, "Oh ok", and just accepted it. But he didn't and I felt lied to. I even took it in when they said they would check it out 'for free'. Of course, again, Randy said nothing was wrong. Fast forward to the transmission class action lawsuit. I again spoke with Randy who said they would look at it but he was sure nothing was wrong with it. Knowing they would 'look' at it and tell me there was nothing wrong, I didn't waste my time. Well, guess what--I now have a 6 year old Subaru with a blown transmission. A new one is cost prohibitive. I started looking at car forums and so many mechanics said not to buy a Subaru. So, bottom line, if you don't mind being mislead or lied to, get your car here. Otherwise, go elsewhere. read more

I am a recent college grad and was very excited to go purchase my first new Subaru! I chose Louis Thomas because I had family members who had purchased vehicles from this dealership and had very good things to say about their car buying experiences. Unfortunately, mine did not go so well. The individual who worked there who 'helped' me shop for my perfect vehicle was named either Andy or Andrew, I don't remember; I tried to block the whole experience out. First off, the guy smelled like Cheetos. Don't get me wrong, I love Cheetos, but if I'm about to drop over 30 grand with the help of somebody, I don't want them smelling like my favorite Frito-Lay product. Secondly, this guy went to the bathroom about 7 times while we were discussing and looking at vehicles and he also let off quite a few atomic bombs out his behind. Instead of excusing himself, he just pretended like it never happened and ignored the putrid smell that we were both engulfed in. I really tried to seriously consider Louis Thomas when buying my car, but after this experience, I decided I should buy a Subaru elsewhere. Two stars for the comedic experience. read more
