He will be coming back to the states next month to finish his last two years before retirement from the Air Force. He isn't going to have a lot of time when he gets to Parkersburg before he has to pick up some belongings and head to Utah. He asked me if, since I was his power of attorney, I could go ahead and find a good truck and sign all the paperwork for him. My wife and I spent a day and drove through all of the car lots in Parkersburg and Marietta and found one that had all of the options he wanted at Matheny Motors. We expressed to the salesman that we would take it. There was an issue that needed resolved but regardless we would take it and be back. The salesman was off the next day and for whatever reason, the truck was sold the day he was off. When I called at 9AM the next morning when he returned, he told me what had happened. Needless to say I was upset but there is nothing that can be done at that point. Heather Whitlock, the new car sales manager found out about the issue and called me. We had a discussion and she simply asked what she could do to fix the problem. After some more discussion, she began looking for what my son was interested in and within a few hours, called me with what she found. The vehicle she found had more options and was, really, a better vehicle then what we had originally chose. We went down, test drive it, loved it, and sat down to work out a deal. Heather immediately said that she felt terrible about what had happened and offered a price that was truly, better than I had ever imagined. There was no haggle and no back and forth. The next day I took a check to Heather and picked up the truck. I have purchased new and used vehicles for many decades but have NEVER had such an outstanding experience in buying a vehicle. Heather Whitlock and Sean Tallman, another salesman that assisted me were the best, and both bent over backwards to make this the sales experience we all dream about when we think of a car purchase. If you are interested in a great deal with great staff and a great dealership, I would highly recommend visiting Matheny Motors. I do not think you will be disappointed. Something as simple as buying my leased vehicle at the end of the lease turned into an absolutely…read moreinfuriating experience. I had leased 3 straight new trucks from McClinton Chevrolet. I live about an hour from the dealership so I didn't have a lot of other interactions with them. When I requested a total to purchase the truck (which is listed under the signed lease agreement), they quoted an extra $600 for document fees, when they were already charging for tax, title, license and all actual documents, so basically just $600 cash for the dealership for the pleasure of selling me a vehicle that I had already bought. I needed them to send me the quote so I could bring money and buy the truck. They agreed, then backed out and said they needed to see the vehicle. Again, I'm keeping this vehicle, it didn't need inspected and they wouldn't give me a total until I went to the dealership, which implies they intended to hard sell me on something else or add other fees in person. Moral of the story, just call GM and remove the crooks, saved me $600 if phantom costs and 2 days of frustration from calls and texts and zero action. - Former McClinton Chevrolet customer

I could not have found a better deal even in a bigger city. They worked with me on the accessories I needed and with the short time frame I have to get things completed as I am leaving on a cross country trip in a few days. I can say this with all certainty, at my age, I do not expect I will buy another new vehicle, but if I do, I will absolutely buy from Astorgs.
