My granddaughter had her birthday celebration at our house August 15, 2026 she ask me where do we get our chicken from I told her at Louisiana on Central Ave and Rosecrans I told her I'll pay for it she ordered a 32 piece on 8/14/2026 she and mom picked the chicken up the next morning and when they brung that chicken and I seen it I was out done the chicken didn't look fresh it looked like it was refried or from the previous day I called spoke to three people an older lady that denied the chicken was refried Second younger Lady told me to bring it back and they would replace the chicken but the first older lady was in the background saying no and got back on the phone and then put the manager of phone saying it wasn't refried and that he fried the chicken I ended up hanging up on him because at this point they weren't going accommodated me with fresher chicken after and my family has been going there for decades, one of our guest bite into the chicken that buys large trays for their party's and said something isn't right about this chicken and when I told her where it came from she couldn't believe it and that they didn't replace the chicken or refund me back my money smh I'll never buy chicken from them again! As I was driving by, I noticed this place and definitely wanted to try their chicken because I've heard lots of good news about these restaurants. We have one location nearby my place as well, which is also a Chinese fast food and Louisiana Fried Chicken joint restaurant. My lady and I drove thru and ordered at the drive thru. I ended up ordering their special fried catfish, which was just three pieces of their fried catfish, using their thick batter, roughly 1" thick by 2" wide by 8" long each piece. I also ordered the 10 piece legs and thighs. Everything came out pretty quick, and was well cooked, not over or under, and was well battered. Everything was just right. Everything was quite perfect. I've been to this place before, coming often for my grandmother who liked their food. For myself, I only ordered the fried chicken. I am not a fan of Chinese food to begin with but figured I would give the Chinese food here a try. My BF and I wanted some fried Shrimp and Snapper but the go-to (Imperial Fish Market) was closed so, we came here (9/7/20). Besides, they offer Chinese food (which is what he wanted) so I figured this would be a good fit for both of us. The drive-thru line was long, as usual but moved along... not a big deal but if you are in a rush, this is not the place for you. We ordered: 20pc Shrimp meal 3pc Snapper Sm side of Veggie Chow Mein Combo A - Fried Rice and Orange Chicken Shrimp Meal: The shrimp were med size (the norm) and the breading was crisp but it didn't really have any flavor. It had a hint of the "Louisiana Chicken" flavor but it was missing something...like they forgot to add some of the seasonings to the blend. My shrimp were mushy and didn't taste fresh. Also, the oil they used is not fresh either. It left the fried foods with a funny taste. All my fries were the scraps you get from the bottom of the fry bag. These are shoestring fries so you expect some nice long pieces but all I got were the short broken ones and they were over cooked. Snapper: Now I ordered 3pcs but they gave me a bunch. At first I felt lucky but then I noticed they were all short pieces with very little fish...just crust. This fish WAS NOT FRESH and was brown in color. Fresh Snapper is flaky and white...I don't know what this was. The fish was really greasy and just not good at all. The fish was cooked in the same oil as the shrimp so it also had a funny taste. Just nasty. Veggie Chow Mein: There were no veggies in this dish at all, just a few pieces of green onion. The noodles had little flavor but overall, they were bland. None of the traditional Asian flavors you'd expect to find in a typical Asian dish like Chow Mein. This dish was also very oily. Combo A: I figured you can't go wrong with Orange Chicken right...WRONG!! The chicken was mushy, oily and coated with a funky flavor. I was not feeling this dish I believe something has changed, owner ship, food vender, cooks, something cause the food SUCKS now!! This place use to be one of my go-to spots but after my last experience with this establishment, this was my last visit. YUCK!! read more
