I rarely write bad reviews, but I literally had the worst experience with my hair that I've ever had. I made an appt for a balayage & a cut, when I went in Erin asked me what I was thinking today. Well, obviously a balayage. I explained the cut, very simple with trim, slight layers, & long blended curtain bangs. I showed her some pics of the way I wanted the balayage to look, coppery highlights. She started putting in the lightener with foils, so ok, I guess this is a foilyage. She didn't mention beforehand. No big, I'll go with it. Figure she's the expert, & she's said foils will help my dark hair lighten. After, we were talking, & she forgot to show me with a mirror. I look in the mirror at home & realize I can barely see any lightened areas or layers. Bangs are uneven. I text her, no response. Text again a week later, she responds, says she didn't see my text. I keep asking if it's ok to lighten again so soon. I go in to fix a couple weeks later, show 2 pics. Color & style of balayage very specific. She says she'll take the color up higher & do a root tap. I'm not a cosmetologist, what is that? She started foiling (again, she didn't ask & I've been saying balayage since the beginning, the pics are balayage) up to my roots! I ask about her switching up the technique, she says that doesn't matter. wth? Now I know this isn't going to be good, but when it's done...Ahhh! Bright orange!! Bleached my precious baby hairs! And I need dark around my hairline cuz of my coloring. Been trying to resolve this with her, she tells me we need to part ways. She RUINED my hair, & it's damaged & falling out. I'd NEVER go back. I love this place! Although I only see Casey, I feel like all the other ladies are just as Talented! All the clients seem like regulars and are always so please with the work they get done! I have very stubborn hair..it doesn't lift well, bleach over and over can be damaging,, but I feel like my attempts to become more of an ash blonde has been most successful with Casey..I've seen a lot of different people before here..now I don't think I'll go anywhere else!! read more

I was rlly excited to cut my hair to a shorter length version of my already wolf cut. She said she was comfortable with it after showing my reference ( I did say this is exactly what I want but if it ends up a bit shorter that's ok too) it was going well until she got in the back and chopped it. Having to take my glass off for a haircut I told myself I would trust the process and before I knew it it was too late :((( it's horrible and I went to a Supercuts to end up chopping it all off, I couldn't stand going outside looking like this and I still cry when I think about my hair wouldn't recommend read more

I paid $65 for ten minutes in the chair to get my ends trimmed. My husband paid $35 for 30 minutes in the same chair. How is that fair? Why are we charging women so much more for less work? Just because we're women? Shame on you!! For a straight trim for long hair I recommend Great Clips. $21 for the same cut and they actually did a better job and spent a little more time. read more

I was hoping the styles would have taken more time and styled the hair rather then just blow drying it out. Maybe I didn't realize that I should have scheduled a different type of appointment to get that done. I was not impressed with the hair cut at all. As a side note it took 21 mins to wash cut and style the hair. From shoulder blade length to bob. Only reason I'm giving 3 star is because I could fix it and I feel like I could have communicated better to get the results I wanted. read more

Sidney is the best hairdresser I've ever had! She is extremely talented at what she does and is also so fun to be around. Earlier in February (pre-covid) she made my orange hair beautiful, and today when I came back in to change it up she made it look so good! read more

I ended up getting an ombré hair color this past fall and then a color touch up and cut today. Jaime is so talented and friendly, I highly recommend making an appointment with her! I don't see any guys giving a rating here, so I thought I would chime in. Jaime has cut my hair 3 or 4 times now, and every time it's outstanding. My hair has a really fine texture and kinda does what it wants, and not everybody "gets it". But Jaime is obviously very skilled and experienced, and quickly and precisely whips it into shape. Prices are also very competitive, too. Judging by the busy nature of the place, I would say that all the stylists in their crew are very popular. Highly recommended. read more

This was my first experience here because my regular hairstylist (who I have gone to for 6 years) was completely booked out for weeks and I needed an appointment in time for an event I was attending. She told me to come to Lounge 9 and gave me names of her previous co-workers that now work here. I booked a cut and color with Casey and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is so funny and super easy to get along with! I showed her some pictures for inspiration, and anyone who gets their hair done regularly knows not to expect pictures to be anything more than just that. Inspiration. I have short hair. Wanted stylist to shape my hair but not take off too much length. She cut 2/3 of my length and now I literally have bald spots on my head. I called on Tuesday to get my money back but they haven't reimbursed me yet. Go there at your own risk. UPDATE: The husband of the owner just called to try to argue and brow beat me into coming into their salon so they could see my hair. I told him that I was too embarrassed to leave my house. Did that sway him to just mail me a check? No. He just wanted to keep arguing. Realizing I was just spending more time on this crummy joint, I told him either send my check or stiff me the $50, that I wasn't going to expend any more effort or another minute with these people. Scheduled appointment a week in advance for 5 o'clock on Tuesday. Courtney was to be my stylist I arrived 15 minutes early no one at the reception desk No one approached me to see if they could help me. After 20 minutes someone came near the sitting area and asked me if I had an appointment I said yes with Courtney at 5 o'clock She said she would let her know but as she walked away I did not hear any communication between the 2 stylists. I peak around the corner and waved and got no response., I sat for a few minutes courtney was working on someone 5 more minutes went by and I peeked around the corner again made eye contact with Courtney she asked me if I had an appointment I said yes with you at 5 o'clock and she said she'd be 5 more minutes It is now 515ish so I thought I'd wait a little while longer but as I looked at the client in her chair I could see she was gonna be more than 5 minutes so I left No communication from anyone at the salon to attempt to resolve the issue. I guess Courtney is doing so well she didn't need my $175. Or it's just the mentality of the younger generation read more

Looking around as I sat, the level of talent at this salon appears to FAR exceed their pricing, which is definitely on the modest side, even outside "the city". In short, I highly recommend looking up my girl, but if she's totally booked (which wouldn't surprise me), it certainly looks like all their stylists are up to the task. read more

The craziest thing I've ever done at a salon was get a couple inches cut off. I'm pretty simple, so I was perfectly fine with that. But after so many years of the same haircut I figured I was due for a change, and figured that a perm would be a relatively easy transition that would add some volume and texture to my very straight hair. I take pride in the fact that my hair is shiny and healthy, so I did a lot of research to make sure I found a place that would be the least likely to cause permanent damage to my head or revisit the 80's frizz (a dark period for everyone). After reading the reviews on here and on their Facebook page, I thought that Lounge 9 was a safe place to get the perm done. The service itself was okay. I brought a book along since I knew it would take a while, and the stylist answered all my questions easily enough. I left the salon $120 (+tip) less than when I arrived, but my hair looked great and I was satisfied. This is when the problems started. 24 hours after my appointment I called the salon because the curls were GONE. I hadn't showered, entered a swimming pool, stood in the rain, or even gotten my head close to any water source, so there was no reason for the curls to be gone. No one answered the machine so I left a message explaining what had happened and left my name and number to schedule another appointment to see what could be done about my hair. To get a picture of what my hair looked like, imagine spraying an entire can of hairspray and teasing my strands to death with a fine-tooth comb. I had all the damage, but none of the volume, and NO CURLS. I went to the salon in person after I got off work several hours later. The salon was closed, which has me wondering - why would they advertise being open 7 days a week if they're NOT ACTUALLY OPEN 7 days a week?? I was very irritated because I spent all that money with no result. After getting home I took a shower (it was past the minimum 24 hour wait period before getting your hair wet) and noticed that the curls came back - I was elated! The hair that's directly framing my face is curly and nice (not as curly as I asked for and was told I would get but at this point I was happy it happened at all). Then I saw my hair from the back. The hair at the back of my head is still straight. Not 100% straight like it had been before, but not at all like the rest of the hair. It's just a flat patch and it looks so uneven, I've resorted to strategically putting my hair up to cover it up, and even after 48 hours the salon still hasn't called me back for the message I had left earlier. I'm glad the curls are at least partially there but to their knowledge the perm had completely failed (as opposed to the truth, which is it partially failed) so the fact that they haven't called back to try to fix the damage that had been done reflects very poorly on their customer service skills. Honestly I'm very disappointed in my experience here, and I WILL NOT be coming back - I've already scheduled an appointment at another salon to fix the patch they had left. read more
