I have been to this place now twice the first time I went in for a takeoff a brand new set with acrylic and gel and it only cost me $67. I went in a second time for a pedicure, a fill and gel nail polish and it cost me with tip $115. Honestly, I am not going to complain. I love it. The staff was friendly and nice. It was amazing. I was hoping to like this place. Needed a new nail salon close to home. They have a ton of colors, so I loved that. Unfortunately it ends there. My acrylics were done in about 10 min. Zero attention to detail. Some are longer than others, some have a different shape. Polish is thin and not all the way to the edges. Really bummed. read more

Exceeded my expectations in all ways! I absolutely love the shape of my nails & had the best service! When calling for my appointment, the gentleman was so welcoming and funny over the phone. He noticed a bump in my polish near the end and made sure to fix it on the spot. Conversation was lovely and flowed easy, which is different from my awkward and silent experiences elsewhere. I'd give this place negative stars if I could!!!Recently moved to BL from Nevada and was looking for somewhere to get my daughters nails done before vacation as a treat to herself. After looking at yelp reviews for this area there was literally nowhere with a 4 or 5 star review... A co-worker recommended T J Nails so this is why she unfortunately ended up here... I made an appointment for her and she was greeted when we showed up... She asked for a full set and the lady doing her nails was pleasant and talkative until it was time to pick a color. She asked the lady before hand if she could do a particular look (nothing complicated - one nail was marbled in fall colors with the rest co-ordinating ombre french) but she said, no she could not do it but could do the 2nd wish pic she showed her which was a ombre french in fall colors... My daughter was having a hard time picking out colors that looked similar to the pic she had brought in and the employees were no help whatsoever... Getting super impatient with her. (Usually nail artists can show you a similar color as they are used to working with them all... Not this lady!) After she settled on colors the lady clearly had an attitude and didn't talk the rest of the time... My daughter asked her (kindly) if she could not put the tip color so far down her nail as it looked weird and she got upset that she had to do it over (it was the first nail!) my daughter was appalled with her nails when finished but too frightened to say anything more as the lady was clearly annoyed with her... My daughter cried when she got back in the car and I don't blame her... She re-polished them herself the same day because it was SO badly done... To make it worse she paid $55 of her hard earned money for this junk! read more

Id give a negative 1 star if i could. My wife went to get her nails done for our wedding and within 5 days her nails started falling off and became brown underneath. This had never happened to her in 15 years of getting her nail done at salons. If that wasn't enough they were super rude to her when she went in to get her nails fixed and wanted to charge her more. No empathy or desire to help their customer due to their mistake. They hadn't cleaned the original polish off, didn't listen to my wife's pleas to do a better job, and clearly talked behind her back in their native language. She had to do a basic job herself quickly before the wedding and the brown nails were hard to cover. Don't go here! Don't put yourself through a disaster! read more

I had to go home and file myself because they were so poorly done and crooked, and they also look grown out how is that? Today I went in for a pedicure & had the worst job done on my nails in 20+ years. The nail polish is thin. I can see the brush marks. The nail polish was not removed from the flesh around my nails. It doesn't look like she put enough top coat on since they are dull, not shiny. I'm rating this as a three since I've been here just once before & I had an excellent job done. I'm disappointed that they would hire someone inept as the employee that worked on my nails today! I shouldn't have to tell someone how to do their job. This place is my go to. I'm sure there are better places out there for twice the price, but the people here are really sweet once you get to know them. They are super affordable, and I've left happy everytime. They do a great job of doing my nails exactly how I ask. They don't scoff or get annoyed when I ask for a change to be made halfway through. I had perfect nail beds and I take great care of my nails. I went in to get acrylics done and they lady asked if I wanted to cut my nails while there and I said no but she did it anyways and cut them so far down that my pinkie bled. After a few weeks of having the acrylics on I took them off and I have an indent of where the acrylics ended on my nail bed!! They ruined my nails completely ! Never going there again !!! read more

Every time I make an appointment and get there on time they're busy and I have to wait. Today I had an appointment for noon to get gel nails and a pedicure. When I called I asked how long it would take they said and hour and 15-20 minutes which gave me plenty of time to get to my next appointment at 1:30. When I got there they had two people getting pedicures and one of them getting their nails done and I was told they couldn't accommodate me because I gave them a limited timeframe and they were down 2 people. What's the point of making an appointment then? That's the last time I'll go to TJ nails. read more

I never leave bad reviews, but after today, I have no choice. I come here often & have never had an experience as bad as I did today. I dont know her name, but the lady with the limp that did my acrylic fill CUT INTO MY NAIL with the gold drill. I bled, she laughed, and simply covered it up with acrylic powder. I then winced anytime she continued to drill because I was scared she be careless again. She called me a "baby" for being so sensitive, after SHE cut me. I am now scared for when these grow out & scared of potential infection. I was so appalled by this. She then also charged me $5 more than normal, due to a "nail repair" she caused. I didn't even know what to say, so I just paid it & left. I will not be returning after being treated poorly, careless use of tools, and additional charges because of their errors. Very disappointed. I finally approached an employee and inquired about a gel manicure when they pointed to someone else so I wandered over to him. Before I could say anything he says "not open. Nothing available." This is my go to nail place! They are very communicative and chatty. It is always a very positive environment when you walk in! The nail technicians really listen to what you would like done and do their best to achieve that look. Tried to take two 11 year old girls to get their nails painted for the first day of school, and we were treated so poorly when they found out all they wanted was nail polish... but they had time when they thought it was ME who wanted something done... I couldn't believe how rude!! I have been here for myself before and thought I had found my new spot but I will NEVER return with my money to this place after being treated that way for a couple of kids wanting a simple service. i only like the location because i live near here. but i dislike the man that works there. He is very rushy and speaks his mind out loud especially when we speak the same language. He cursed underneath his breathe when my mother tried to pay with credit card. service was poor. they treat people of their ethnicity beneath them because they only care about other ethnicity. Extremely dissatisfied with their customer service. I've been going there for years putting up with old equipment sometimes moody owners. I like to support local businesses and always tip well. They closed for over a week to go on vacation which would have been the week I would be due for a gel fill & pedicure. However I made an appointment for when they returned even though I was cutting it close to travel & well over due. I am there at my appointed time and was told I wasn't in the books. This isn't the first time they screwed me but it will be the last. I'll never return there. I had a card with the date & time. Very frustrated but they didn't care. I used to come here often for my nails & eyebrows and they were very good. Then they got one employee who didn't speak any English and I always seemed to get her. She never knew what I wanted and was not that good at her job (didn't even know what I meant when I wanted a flower on my big toe nail). I went a few more times because I kept thinking I would get another person to help me, but then I would be asked to wait, and would still end up getting the same woman. Finally when they even had her doing my eyebrows (horribly) I had to call it quits. The owner is loud and obnoxious, the TV is usually blaring some daytime talk show or worse, The price is right. I made an appointment and they wer 10 minutes late, there was only one other customer in there. She did not get my cuticles very well at all. The chairs are uncomfortable. They were eating lunch and put me in the closest chair to their lunch room. She sandpapered the top of my foot, OUCH! She did not use a base coat, this will make my nails turn yellow...
