Called and made a very last minute appointment with Mary Jo for pedicures for two. She is such a sweetheart! Pleasant from start to finish. Her establishment may be a little hard to find. Just look for it in the same building as the Swiss Haven restaurant (where they serve fondue!). She is on the third floor. If Mary Jo is running a few minutes behind, make sure you grab a glass of vino from Alfonso downstairs. Don't worry, it's cool as long as you bring back the glass. What to expect when receiving a pedicure from Mary Jo: 1. Foot soak in a metal tub. (you will not find the big pedicure chairs with jets here) 2. A sugar scrub. Several scents to choose from. 3. Paraffin wax foot dip. HEAVEN! 4. A thorough application of polish. 5. Several minutes under the dryer. Gotta make sure they are super dry to put back on socks and boots! My toes looked great and I loved the color! I read a few other reviews that said there wasn't a good variety of nail polishes to choose from. I found quite the opposite! I had a hard time choosing. Plenty of reds, neutrals and even yellows! Forgot to mention she did my pedicure and my friend's simultaneously. Handled very well I might add! The price is very 'ski resort' driven. You're going to pay twice what you would normally at 'home'. Sigh. I will say I felt like the paraffin dip made up some of that cost though and it was soooo needed since I was all dry from lack of humidity. read more

What a wonderful find! Mary Jo gladly made an appointment for my daughter-in-love and my self for mani's and pedi's today. She is on the third floor of the Columbine Square building, sharing the floor with a salon. Her salon is small but comfortable with a great view of the mountains. She does not use pedicure chairs, rather massage chairs and cute old fashioned bowls with pebbles in the foot bath. Although she is the sole person, she easily accommodated both of us side-by-side. Surprise! She includes a paraffin dip for all mani's and pedi's which left us soft and supple! Her prices are resort high but well worth it. Betsy is amazing. Her salon is clean, gorgeous, and has the best mountain views. My boyfriend and I spent our anniversary in Breckenridge and made a last minute decision to get a mani/pedi. I had a lovely afternoon being pampered by Betsy. She has a small salon, and gives focused, one-on-one service. It is a cheerful, sunny space and very relaxing. I did not feel like Betsy was looking at the clock. Instead, she wanted to be sure I was happy and my feet well cared for, and really spent the time to do it right. It looks like this is the first review for Mary Jo.... I'm not surprised. She runs a small one woman show. She has a small space on the top floor of the Columbine building on Main St. Her office has AWESOME views of the mountains while you get your manicure. I was from out of town and she said that is where the majority of her business comes from. I called same day and was able to walk in, but she said she was full the whole day, so I would call ahead if you could. Manicure was $35 dollars. What it included: Hand Soak Hand Scrub Nail Shaping Cuticle Removal (she scraped mine back, I wish she has asked about removing my cuticles with clippers because they were a bit dry, but all in all they ended up looking good). Paraffin soak Short lotion massage buff polish We chatted a bit, but were also quiet..... so it was relaxing and after my polish she had me sit under the dryer twice and let me know that my nails were "dry to the touch, but be careful about banging them into things" -- it was nice to not be rushed out of the space with wet nails! All in all I would visit again. Now that I know what to expect I could request this or that.... Pedicures are $65 but I didn't get one...... A bit pricey, but I was on vacation and she has all the new colors and she does Shellac gel nails! read more

If I could give this lady a zero star review I would. I literally received the worst shellac manicure I've ever had. First, the way she did her manicures were completely backwards. She tried pushing back my cuticles after the polish was already on and she didn't even clip the sides of my nails or cuticles when I asked her too. In the beginning, I asked for French and she didn't even know how to shape the white tip. The white was chunky and didn't even cover my tip. And to top it off she wanted to charge for a double coat when her product was the reason why it wouldn't cover my tip! After about 30 minutes of her poorly trying to accomplish a French manicure I had to ask her to remove it and just do a regular polish. Overall anyone coming to Breckinridge wanting to get their nails done I would definitely steer away from here. Go somewhere else where they know what they're doing! A treat for a girl's weekend! Mary Jo has a cozy little shop on Main Street and was so friendly, chatting with both of us and tending to both of us. It was expensive (35 mani/65 pedi), but it is a resort town, so that is to be expected. She did a great job with the mani/pedi's (even my manicure is holding up a few days later!). I should have mentioned to her prior to starting that I don't like my tooties clipped all the way down. She is used to caring for athletes who want them to the quick, but it was a bit short and my toes were just a little sore afterward. Not a major deal, but thought I'd mention in case others feel the same. Overall, a very relaxing experience! We will go back:) read more

Betsy was amazing! We were in town for Christmas vacation and she was able to get up in within a days request. My sister and I both got pedicures. They last approximately an hour and were so worth it. It was so relaxing!! My sister recently had ingrown toenails removed and was nervous. Betsy saw how her toenails were growing in and put some Gel over them to help keep them from getting caught. She was so nice! I want to support small businesses, but I won't be back. "Manicure" isn't right; "hurriedly slap on some polish" more accurately describes the service. I typically get a gel manicure every two weeks in Denver for under $40. My regular salon gently files my nails short, trims cuticles and dry skin, and meticulously applies the polish. My experience here was the opposite. Mary Jo filed my nails so roughly that it hurt. When I jumped, she said, "well, you wanted them short." Short yes, but pain free. She didn't trim any cuticles or dry skin, which is at least half the point of a manicure. Then she applied the polish all over the cuticles and not even to the corners of my nails. It looked like a child painted my nails. Afterwards, I even asked to use the clippers myself to trim some hangnails. Double the price and half the service. No thanks. read more

Betsy is the new owner of this nail salon and she was absolutely amazing. I came in here for a shellac manicure after a week of skiing because my hands really needed it. Betsy started on time and really took care of my nails and did everything I wanted. We talked about everything from nail colors (obviously) and weddings and puppies, to hurricanes and alligators lol. The absolute best pedicure I have ever had. I have challenging toes and usually get a pedicure every 4 weeks. I did not make it in before our ski trip and after 2 days of skiing with toes that should have had a pedicure weeks ago, I was desperate. Snug ski boots and overgrown toenails are not a great combination. I did not have high hopes for a last minute pedicure in a resort town but L&L had great reviews and I was happy to get in on my rest day before heading out skiing again. Betsy is not only a fantastic nail technician she is a delightful person. I feel like I made a new friend. The mom from the mom daughter duo that came in after me said - I texted my husband and said we are just going to spend the afternoon here. Betsy said she loves running her business and it is obvious. It's really small and only one lady does the mani and pedis so this would not be good for a group.
