If you're just going in for eyebrow waxing or eyebrow threading, you don't even need an appointment. You just walk in, type your name and phone number into the little iPad kiosk, and wait to be called. They are SO quick. I'm talking maybe five minutes per person quick. I've been there several times now, and every single lady I've had has done a great job. It's not just one person in particular. They all seem skilled, friendly, and efficient. It's located in Dilworth in the shopping center with the Harris Teeter. I really like that area because there's plenty of parking and a bunch of other little shops around there too. Super easy to get to. Overall, great service every time I've gone. Definitely recommend. 10 out of 10.

Their professionalism and warmth set the tone for every visit. As a gentleman, I appreciate the flexibility of calling to schedule my services, as my grooming needs--eyebrow shaping, waxing, and detailed facial grooming--are more specific than what is offered online. The staff is always courteous, accommodating, and attentive. Maria Simanic is truly outstanding. I have been seeing her since April 2022, and after trying other estheticians, she is without question the best. Her expertise in eyebrow shaping and men's grooming, along with her precision and thoughtful guidance, consistently delivers exceptional results--especially with my fast-growing brows. She takes great care in every detail, including eyebrows, ears, and nose, and has even taught me how to properly groom my brows at home. Her professionalism, skill, and genuine care make every visit a pleasure. I have referred several friends and colleagues--both men and women--and all have had equally exceptional experiences. If you are looking for expert eyebrow shaping, waxing, and personalized care at a top-tier beauty spa, I highly recommend Maria. Refined, reliable, and unmistakably best-in-class.

Facial anyone? Or perhaps you need something waxed and I'm not talking about your car. Butterfly…read moreSpa and Wellness is definitely the best place for these services. Neliah, owner and esthetician, is great at what she does. Butterfly is home-based but it definitely doesn't seem like it. It's completely separated from the rest of the house and looks and feels like you're in a regular store front or stand alone spa. It's very warm and inviting just like every spa should be but sometimes aren't. When you first visit you are asked to fill out some paperwork and, based on the service you are receiving, whether or not you've had that particular service before. I met Neliah during a night out on the town and she told me that she owned a spa and that I should come to her for a facial. If I'm being honest I was thinking, "That's never going to happen," based on my previous and only experience with getting a facial a few years ago. After my first facial I was told that my face might be a little oily for a day or two as a result of the exfoliating and cleansing until my pores or PH or whatever was balanced. I said fine, no biggie. A little oily I could deal with however, my face was anything but. It looked as if somebody had taken a handful of Vaseline or Crisco, lathered it on my face and it began to melt off in the sun. Embarrassed much? Lets just say, uh yeah! Nevertheless, I would constantly hear so many of my friends and family say that facials were the next best thing since the size of cell phones shrank and no longer weigh 10 lbs. Although part of me was screaming, "You all can have your facials," another part said "Give it another try". I told Neliah about my first experience and she said that should've never happened. So, I reluctantly decided to give "the facial" one more try and man am I glad that I did! I don't think my face has felt this smooth or soft since birth. Thanks to Neliah at Butterfly Spa and Wellness the curse of "the facial" has ended!!!!

She directed me to the pedicure area, where the first nail technician asked what I wanted. I explained that one of my big toenails had broken and was shorter than the other, and that I wanted builder gel used to extend it to match the length of the other toe. She told me the salon did not have builder gel and that acrylic would have to be used instead. I explained that I haven't used acrylic in about six years because I've had issues with it in the past, but since she said builder gel wasn't available, I agreed to acrylic. She then told me she wasn't trained to do acrylic and would need to get another technician. After waiting several minutes, a second technician came over. I had to explain everything again because nothing had been communicated to her. When I explained that I needed one toenail repaired, she seemed unhappy about the request and said she also wasn't trained to do it. I then waited again for a third technician. Once again, I had to repeat the entire situation because there had been no communication between the staff. I explained that I only wanted a small amount of product on the one broken toenail. When she asked what I normally use, I told her builder gel. That's when she said, "We have builder gel--they just don't know how to use it." That was extremely frustrating because the first technician had specifically told me the salon didn't offer builder gel at all. When I pointed out the conflicting information, my concern was brushed aside instead of acknowledged. Things became even more frustrating when I clearly stated that I only wanted builder gel added to the one broken toenail because the other big toe already had builder gel. Despite that, she applied builder gel to both big toes. When I reminded her that I had only requested one toe, she responded that since one toe was getting fresh builder gel, I should do the other one too. That wasn't what I requested, and it made the other toenail thicker than I wanted. Instead of listening to my concern, I felt like she became irritated with me for correcting her. At that point, I no longer wanted the pedicure. I asked her to simply paint my toes instead. Before she started, I specifically asked how much it would cost. She told me it would be $15 for the polish plus $20 for the builder gel, so I expected to pay $35. When she handed me the receipt, the total was $50. When I questioned the charge, she changed the explanation and said the polish was actually $30 because I wasn't getting a pedicure. That was never explained beforehand. If I had been told the correct price from the beginning, I could have made an informed decision. Instead, I was quoted one amount and charged another. Before leaving, I explained the entire situation to the receptionist. Unfortunately, no effort was made to resolve the issue. She didn't offer to involve a manager, ask if there was anything they could do to make the experience right, or acknowledge the poor communication that had occurred throughout my visit. I paid the $50 and left without tipping because I didn't feel I had received the level of service or communication that warranted it. The biggest issue wasn't the builder gel--it was the lack of communication, inconsistent information from multiple technicians, not following my clearly stated requests, and the inaccurate pricing. I hope the salon improves communication among its staff and does a better job ensuring customers receive the services they actually request.
