But Dr. Ademola Adekola Jr., DDS (Dr. A) and his team were compassionate, transparent, and very accommodating, which made a huge difference for me. Dr. A is hands down the best dentist I've ever encountered!! He's knowledgeable, caring, and uses technology expertly. You can tell he was meant to do this. Let me just say, my experience at this location was outstanding. The moment, I walked in the door, the space was inviting. Its a family oriented dental facility with great staff to treat kids and adults in one location. I received an oral evaluation, x-rays, and a excellent cleaning by Dr. Rebecca Hudson. She was simply amazing. Her professionalism and dental knowledge was impressive. The Dental Assistant Hailey and the Insurance Coordinator Janet also made the whole experience seem effortless. They claim it was a mistake but the way they have been avoiding calls from myself and the insurance company, I don't thinks so. Myself and the insurance agent have been 3 weeks waiting for them to rectify this situation. We were told they faxed over the forms to reverse these claims. The insurance company to date has not received anything. Not even the email of the forms to the agent herself. When we call either the answering service picks up or we are sent to voicemail. I was told at 10:30 am this morning the business manager would be getting in touch with me. It is now 8:24pm and still nothing. This happened June 3rd. Today is July 17th. How long does it take to email forms? I worked in a doctor's office and it took me all of 5 minutes to email forms and call to confirm receipt. Every time we call now, they are busy with patients. What business manager is performing dental work on patients? How stupid do you think your patients are? They are avoiding our calls after the agent asked fir that check to be returned. I need these teeth extracted by an oral surgeon for pre-op clearance for hip replacement surgery, that it took me 2 years ripping and running around Chicago, Oak Park, Orland Park, and Crestwood Illinois to find a surgeon that will finally relieve me of this hell and excruciating pain. Due to Blue Island Smile's incompetence, and unethical practice my ortho surgeon refuses to do my surgery until the teeth are removed leaving me with a big SSA bill, no coverage to get the teeth removed by the oral surgeon and more months of excruciating and debilitating hip, nerve and groin pain. Thanks for messing it up for me. All this new technology and it has taken 3 weeks to send an email to an insurance agent.

The underlying bias and utter lack of human decency in that room was loud and clear. On top of the emotional cruelty, their billing practices are completely fraudulent. Her plan was strictly agreed upon at $145 a month. My daughter called ahead to confirm everything was fine, yet when she arrived, the front desk aggressively demanded a $1,000 lump sum on her next visit or they would force-remove her braces. When she called them out on a random $416 "adjustment" they suddenly slapped onto the ledger to manipulate the numbers, they couldn't even explain their own messy math and just stared at her in silence. They don't track phone calls, their staff tells completely conflicting stories, and they use scare tactics to exploit families going through a crisis. This corporate office views patients as dollar signs, not human beings, and their targeting behavior today was unacceptable. We have officially fired this clinic. If you are a Black family or anyone who expects basic human respect and honest billing, stay far away from Perfect Smiles of Beverly. They crossed a major line today.

I now live quite a distance away, but I continued with Dr. Hlousek because I liked him so much and had been a patient for years. Since he retired, I want a dentist closer to where I live. "Smile," the dental practice which took over from him, told me that Dr. Hlousek would send me my records. I offered to pick them up, but they declined. After a month, I called again. This time, they said their parent company would have to review my request. I cannot find any way to contact Dr. Hlousek directly.
