The staff was very caring and supportive when the diagnosis wasn't good, as was Dr. Thompson who was excellent at patient care- both me and my kitty. I was pleasantly surprised by my bill afterwards also, though there were costs out of their control (labs) the in-house fees were very reasonable. We will continue to be seen here as long as they open their doors! BTW, my Worf the Clingon kitty is doing well and is expected to make a 100% recovery from FIP, until recently a terminal condition. Thank you TVS!

I recently moved back to the area so I was a bit hesitant to see a large animal vet as our new doctor and I assure you, I was wrong. Dr. Thompson is incredibly knowledgeable, caring and thorough. He is definitely not "just another small town vet". He sets the bar high for any other vet! (But hopefully he keeps us on as patients --2 cats-- so we won't have to worry again!!) I'm in my 50s and have always had a cat. I can unquestionably say, Dr. Thompson's office is the best vet experience we have ever had! Everyone from the office was wonderful, from the two phone calls prior, the entire visit, and putting my mind at ease throughout the process. Lucy is doing good and we felt incredibly well taken care of by the entire team!! I have already recommended him to my sister and niece who were looking for a vet for their dogs, and highly recommend this power team to anyone for animals of any size. As for my two girls, I am posting proof of how relaxed they felt not long after getting home. It typically takes a couple of days for them to be this relaxed after a visit. Dr. Thompson and his office truly took care of us with as little stress as possible! EXTRA INFO: The office is in an easy to get to location on hwy199, between Springtown and Azle, with entrances/exits from both 199 and Newsom Mound Road. There are safely accessible crossovers to get to/from the office via 199. (BIG ++ in the area!) The parking lot has plenty of space for parking and turning around. Plenty of space inside for you and your pet(s) as well.

OMG! Has absolutely destroyed our puppies leg!! Run!!!!…read moreOur puppy broke her elbow a month ago, and based on proximity and local reviews my daughter too her to Eagle Mountain. At first, thigs seemed great-tye got us in during an emergency, were friendly, and the cost felt reasonable. Unfortunately, everything that happened after that has been horrific. At her follow-up visit, we asked specifically if her splint needed to be changed. She is a growing puppy and the wrapp was extremely tight.. We were told by the vet and two techs that it didn't need to be changed unless it smelled. THey even laughed when voiced concern about my dogs skin. Assuring my daughter "she'll be fine, this is all normal". A few days later, splint started to smell awful, so back we went. They immediately took her to the aback and said she needed to stay based on the smell without letting me see her condition. Hours later, the only update I received was that she had a "small pressure sore," which they said was normal and that they planned to "let it air out'. Two days later when she was picked up, the leg was already wrapped. Four days later the splint started smelling awful again and was oozing from the bottom. I took her to VEG Emergency, where they removed the splint- what they found was devastating. Basically her entire arm/paw was a large open wound, almost to the bone. Her toes started losing their color. She now requires multiple medications and professional wound care every few days in that the wounds heal. Every vet medical professional said the splint needs to be changed every few days for a growing puppy to prevent this from happening. Complications can happen, but the lack of transparency, the refusal to let me see her condition, and the repeated reassurance tat everything was "normal" has left this family shaken and in shock. 12/2/25- UPDATE We just left the new vet and have to return tomorrow to have a conversation on leg amputation.

I didn't have a great experience there overall (20-minute wait in the foyer waiting area, then nearly an hour in the private room with no update from the vet tech after my cat's vitals were taken, etc.), but I was still going to have my cat treated since vet trips are extremely traumatic for him. When the doctor came in for the exam (which was less thorough than what the vet tech had already done and added no new information), she picked at his scab with her long nails - - repeatedly. And then she rubbed the area and picked at it some more. It made me anxious, and I commented on how my cat doesn't like his wound touched. I was too late though. When the doctor left after conducting the half-baked exam, and I was waiting on pricingquotes for treatment, I saw that my cat's scab had been picked off at the top by about 0.5 cm, and that the newly exposed area was bleeding. I was horrified and infuriated. This wound has taken over a year to get even only this much better; the progress is microscopic, spread across a lot of time. I take photos of it every week to track the progress so that it's visible at all. Her inexcusable carelessness set us back by up to six weeks - - a month at a minimum. I immediately canceled plans for any treatment, as well as blood work. I have no trust in anyone there if the doctor is that reckless. Maybe the other doctors are great, and maybe if I only had to have the vet tech treat him, it would be an OK place (despite the inconvenient location). I'll never know. I'm never going back. I was very fortunate that I didn't have to pay for the "exam" the doctor performed, which would have been tantamount to rewarding her for hurting him. As a first-time customer, we benefited from the clinic's policy of a free first exam. All I can say is, I strongly advise against letting Dr. Brown touch your pet if your fur-baby has a flesh wound. I'm still shocked and enraged by what she did to my poor cat. I hope that none of the other doctors are anything like her.

We just moved to the area, we had used bonds ranch in the past when we lived here 4 years ago and they referred us to this clinic. We used an animal hospital religiously in Parker county and I should've just gone back to them. Our cat ended up with a laceration and was treated by this clinic on Tuesday, upon taking the dressing off last night noted none of the sutures had held up. Upon taking our cat in today to be rechecked, the vetinarian was condescending and simply came up with excuses trying to put the blame on us. It left a very bad taste in my mouth.

I will never understand how this establishment has 5 stars on Google…read more I originally found Avondale Animal Clinic through a search, and given the great reviews and proximity to my home, I was genuinely hoping this would be our new primary vet. Unfortunately, my experience didn't reflect those positive reviews. First, while I completely understand that veterinary clinics can sometimes be short-staffed or encounter unexpected emergencies, there seems to be a significant issue with their scheduling. Appointment times were simply not respected, resulting in excessive wait times that felt more like intentional overbooking rather than unavoidable delays. Secondly, my very first visit raised immediate concerns about the clinic's cleanliness. While sitting in the exam room, I noticed the ceiling vents had a thick layer of dust, almost an inch thick, resembling a clogged dryer vent. For a medical facility where my pet is being examined and treated, maintaining a highly sanitary environment is incredibly important to me. The deciding factor happened during our second visit on June 9th at 3:00 PM. We were scheduled for a urine sample via cystocentesis for my dog, (a procedure she's successfully had done twice before at an ER without issue). We arrived early at 2:50 PM to be considerate, but we weren't seen until 3:30 PM. They took my dog to the back, and we ultimately didn't leave the facility until 4:40 PM. The most frustrating part was that after all that waiting, they claimed my dog didn't have enough urine in her bladder to perform the test and that she did not even pee as they tried taking her **OUTSIDE** without even informing me that the cysto was not successful (RED FLAG) I found this incredibly hard to understand, as I meticulously followed the doctor's strict instructions from our first visit: I ensured she drank plenty of water and absolutely did not let her urinate for at least 3 hours prior to the appointment. While I initially agreed with the tech to reschedule for the first slot of the day on Friday, June 12th at 9:00 AM to avoid another long wait, I realized later that evening that I simply don't have confidence in this clinic moving forward. With all that being said, I will be taking my business elsewhere to find a vet who respects appointment times, maintains a much cleaner facility, and can provide the efficient, genuine care my dog deserves without leaving us waiting for nearly two hours to not even complete a scheduled test.
