Laura was super flexible and accommodating. She kept in contact perfectly the entire time! Her and her team were very efficient and able to get hair and makeup done for 5 people within the time frame we had. My bridesmaids and I felt beautiful and are so thankful for the time spent to perfect my wedding day. Everything lasted throughout the entire day! Which was amazing because I had hair and makeup started at 8 am and kept everything up and on until 4 am! Her friend Crystel did my hair and makeup for my bridal photos and it came out amazing. My wedding hair and makeup matched it perfectly which makes my wedding photos feel like the perfect continuation from my bridals which had been shot two months prior. Just days before my sister's wedding, she was at my house after doing the trial of her wedding makeup, and it finally set in that my baby sister was getting married. She had the dress, the venue, and now the makeup to match. My sister described her chosen makeup artist as being communicative and professional, and let us know in advance when to arrive with our faces clean and moisturized to to have our makeup done for the big day. Her work on her website was beautiful, and the reviews that were posted there were rave reviews about the amazing experience. So, it came as a bit of a shock when I arrived at the AirBnb where we were getting ready on the wedding day, and my sister nervously had to inform us that it was time for the makeup artist to arrive for the bridal party, and even though we had paid in advance, she had not heard from her. So, while my sister's experience was the most stressful by far, this review is about my experience as part of her bridal party that was supposed to receive services, only to be waiting without communication, unsure if we should just start on our own. And we waited - maybe there was an emergency. Maybe something had happened, or there was a delay. It was a rainy day, after all, and delays were a very real possibility. However, after an hour and multiple phone calls, we realized that no one was coming and we were just going to have to pull off the makeup for our entire party on our own. The entire day schedule had to be shifted, a lot of us went without eating just to make everything work. In any case, my sister was a beautiful bride and is now happily married. Her bridal party pulled together, and the day was a success. But we did find based on reviews on other pages that the makeup artist's team did another wedding the same day; she has a business with multiple members of her styling team, and so without even being personal towards her, it was poor logistics in running of the business that no one reached that she was not coming. It is our understanding that the owner had a personal emergency, and we extend her our hope that she is doing better as a person, but as a business owner whom we were counting on, I can not recommend. I had contacted Laura in March of 2022 for my wedding in March 2023. She was very accommodating seeing as how I live in New York and my husband and I were getting married in Texas. I had two different trials because I kept changing my mind and Laura was more than willing to figure out how to make this happen. I had read some of the reviews and comments between booking and the day of my wedding but decided to give Laura a shot regardless. She had never given me a reason to doubt her or her capabilities. I am SO thankful I did not listen to other people. My hair and makeup came out AMAZING as well as my bridesmaids. We had 2 makeup artists and 2 hairstylists for 10 of us and we finished with time to spare! We did not feel rushed at all and it was such a smooth process. I would give. -4 if that were a choice. I hired Laura, she said all the right things & her reviews were great, since then I have found out the bad reviews get deleted. We were to have had 4 makeup/hair artist come at 11 for a 5 ceremony, at 12 we finally got ahold of Laura who gave some bs story about where the paid for artist were, long story short, 1 lady showed up for 12 of us wanting hair & makeup. The scramble to get everyone ready was so stressful, not what anyone wants on their wedding day. The one artist that was sent ( last minute) shared her story that Laura owed her from a previous mess up & had witnessed this unprofessional behavior before w Laura. We did get our money back but with lots of threats from Laura about getting a lawyer ... IMHO she lacks the integrity & professionalism to get the reviews on various sites that allow deletion of reviews. I can not recommend Love, Lipstick & Lashes nor the owner Laura Gorman. The day before my friends wedding in November she received a call that the original stylist wasn't available. The day of the wedding two new stylists showed up. They did not do her makeup or hair like her bridal trial and all of us had to fix our makeup ourselves. They went way too heavy on the makeup and the original airbrush was not available. It took so long for them to do hair that one of the bridesmaids was not able to get done and had to pin it up herself before the wedding. read more

If I could give Laura more than 5 stars I would. I found Laura in 2020, my wedding was right before Covid happened February 15th at the beautiful Lambermont. The makeup and hair lady I booked texted me Feb 1st that she had to leave out of town on a family emergency. I asked my venue for recommendations and they provided me with Laura's business. She was so sweet to me and fit me in so we could do a trial run. I let them know in advance how long my hair is incase they needed more time. Everything looked beautiful and I booked for my wedding. She showed up on time made me look amazing and treated my daughter like a princess. I've used Laura's skills for other important dates and she always does a great job!!! When my daughters old enough I'm hopping Laura will show her how to apply her make up lol. Thank you Laura for always being great to us. read more

Reading the previous reviews that gave them a 1-star surprised me. I booked through Laura a makeup and a hairstylist in June of 2022. I was informed in January that the makeup and hairstylist no longer were with the company so they offered me a free makeup and hair trial the day before the wedding. They worked with my schedule when I showed up late to my trial (due to SA traffic). Laura and Corenne used the products I asked them to use and took my pictures and input and implemented them into my look. On wedding day, I was their only wedding that day so they took extra time on me and my bridesmaids. I was very pleased and my makeup held all day and night. The only thing I would ask is if they are booking any other weddings that day that could possibly put them behind in their work. I was very pleased! read more

We booked with Laura for my wedding day hair & makeup. When I signed the contract they had a special promotion where if you paid in Full the price would be discounted for your bridesmaids. Me thinking it would be a great idea, I sent her the money in full payment via Venmo. I also signed the contract sent to me by Amber who coordinated everything. A week or two later when we called to confirm all our vendors for the wedding including this business, they said they did not have any trace of our contract or anything. This is after I've paid in full (& had physical proof) for my bridal hair & make up and for 5 bridesmaids and mother of the bride. After this occurrence I felt this was enough to tell Laura & her business Love, Lipstick & Lashes is NOT reliable. I spoke to my planner and asked to cancel, when I called to cancel they said they confused my contract with someone with the same name as me. They had to keep the deposit which I found understandable but they said they would return the remaining that I paid. For months I had to message her to follow up about my refund, I'm lucky enough to have received the remaining of our money 4 months after my wedding. Unfortunately speaking to other brides affected by this scam weren't so lucky, having her not show up on the actual day of their wedding or not receiving their refunds. A week before my wedding I saw multiple post on Facebook around 9pm. All comments were from a post from Laura Gorman review some people told her how great she was but a large number of people stated she didn't show up for the wedding. So I tried not to panic and I waited until Saturday to text her when I do I got no response. So Sunday I called and texted still nothing. Come Monday I panicked and posted on her Facebook page stating someone needs to just refund me my money no need to double check if she was coming a few hours later someone did Facebook message me and give me a full refund. Once I got my money back I never contacted her again. I wasn't going to leave a review until I received a message on Instagram. All I wanted was for someone to call which never happened so in the end I just wanted a refund which I got. However for her to randomly message me three weeks after my wedding. Is beyond crazy. Very long story, but we hired her in May of 2022 for 12 people for my brother and his husbands wedding to pamper the ladies in their lives. We were in contact with Laura for a few days. Everything seemed to be going well. She was super responsive and let us know 4 stylists would be heading our way for the big day. The night before the wedding, we confirmed it all and she stated how excited she was for the big day. The next morning I text her early to see if they could show up 30 minutes sooner. She said SURE, NO PROBLEM! Well, that's when things started going down hill. One stylist showed up on time.. she was super quiet and didn't say much when I asked where the others were. An hour went by and still just one. I let 30 minutes go by and no one showed. I sent a text saying how disappointed I was and why she had not let me know anyone else was coming. The stylist there finally said Laura told her she was the only one that was going to come and call if we needed back up. I tried to call her and she wouldn't answer. She Called her stylist and I got on the phone pretty upset as it was now around 12pm and we needed to be ready by 3pm. She told a story about someone getting in a wreck... well, where were the other 2 that was supposed to be there? I told her I heard her story and she just needed to come. She flipped out on me saying how rude I was and it wasn't a story,. Come to find out, the wreck happened the NIGHT BEFORE. In text messages later she wrote that she told us it was Friday, but on the phone she said 10 am that morning. I called to apologize just to get her there and I was so confused at what had just happened. Needless to say, she never came and was so rude and unprofessional. She did give us our deposit back but went round and round about it. Claimed we were rude to her stylist (which we weren't and stylist will say so). She also said she would seek her lawyer on us if we slandered her on reviews. This is not slander. This is the truth about what happened. She put so much stress on the day and anxiety on me for days. I took a couple of days to process everything before I left a review. My impression of the company drastically changed on the day of my wedding, and that is what my review is a reflection of. My make up person, Melanie, was great! She no longer worked for the company on the day of my wedding (12/18/2022), but she was still willing to finish out her prior commitments. If I could rate her separately, Melanie would absolutely get 5 stars! On the day of my wedding, both my hair stylist and my make up person were supposed to arrive at 11:45a.m. Melanie arrived on time, but my hair stylist did not. She was told to arrive at my house at 1:00p.m., and the owner, Laura failed to notify me. I paid for my services in February of 2022. In October, I had emailed Laura about setting up a time for my hair and make up. In February, I had a trial with Melanie and Kaitlyn to see what my hair and make up would look like. They took two hours to do both because I have a lot of hair, so I wanted to make sure they had enough time. Laura told me she was out of the office and that we could set up an appointment for later when she was back. (Not a problem!) In November I followed up with her on November 2nd, asking if they could be at my house by 11:45a.m. She thanked me for being patient with her and said that they could definitely do the arrival at 11:45a.m. on 12/18. On December 9th, I texted her confirming that Melanie and Kaitlyn would be the ones doing my hair and make up. She told me that it would be Melanie and Crystal. I was concerned and told her I didn't know who Crystal was and asked how Crystal would know how to do my hair. Laura replied offering to share Crystal's instagram with me and stated that in her "professional opinion," Crystal would "execute your desired bridal hairstyle just as well as Kaitlyn if not better." (No problem). She shared Crystal's instagram with me and said to reach out with any and all questions. On December 13, Laura asked me if there was any flexibility on my day of timeline for my wedding. I clarified what she meant and asked if she meant like for them to come earlier. She said, "Yes, if that's a possibility?" I told her I would really prefer them not to because I was going to be busy that morning, taking stuff to the venue. She asked me what time my ceremony was, and I said 3p.m. I never heard from her after that. The day of my wedding when Melanie was there and Crystal was not, I texted Laura then called her to see why Crystal was not there. Laura tried to pin in on Melanie saying that she should have told me. I told Laura that Laura should've told me because her and I had agreed on 11:45a.m. Her response to that was, "I don't give a sh*t." I had her on speaker during that time, and another vendor, my friend, and Melanie all heard her. Laura hung up on me and sent me a screenshot of her calendar, which did state 11:45a.m. She continued to text me calling me entitled, immature, and selfish. Not once did I use profanity with her and call her any names. She told me to feel free to leave a review and that there was a "support group" I could join. I would not recommend her company to anyone because of how unprofessional she was. Krystal and Melanie were great! I would give them a 5/5 rating. If anyone asked for recommendations for hair and make up, I would give them Krystal and Melanie's contact information separately, but I would not recommend Love Lipstick & Lashes to anyone. read more
