Ahhhh, nothing like a colonoscopy/endoscopy double procedure to wake you up to the fact that you need to pay more attention to the internal "plumbing." Thank goodness for Love My Colon Urban Detox and their compassionate staff for helping pave the way to a successful procedure. Did you know you can bypass the Suprep monstrosity altogether and just do a series of hydrotherapy sessions to prep for your exam? I didn't either until my physician mentioned it as an alternative to the Suprep. I'm allergic/sensitive to several of the ingredients in the Suprep and it was my doctor who informed me it was an option. However, he warned me that one session and even two sessions wouldn't be enough. Armed with that info, I phoned LMCUD and asked if they'd be able to fit me in at specific times of the day (I had to do one final hydrotherapy session on the morning of my procedure). Tannis and her crew of capable and compassionate therapists went out of their way to make sure I could get in when needed for a successful medical exam later in the day. Curious to know how many sessions it took? I ended up doing 4 sessions total: 3 "open" and the final one "closed". My doctor told me that I was "very clean" when he went in with his camera. I also fasted the final 2.5 days. Clear broth on the first fasting day, water and tea the last two. I walked out of my procedure about 8 pounds lighter -- but to be clear, this is not for weight loss! I just happened to get the benefits of a nice fast doing the prep and gave my body a rest... which gave it more time to detox. Another tip: liquid mineral drops to remineralize during the fast. Tannis' staff were very compassionate, caring and helpful. I can't express my gratitude enough. They were very attentive, respected my privacy and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Definitely a no judgement zone! The best detail of all: not having to guzzle down heaps of salts and chemicals via a 6 hour forced purge of my innards. (You should read the pamphlet insert on the Suprep sometime. Side effects are pretty heinous and can include kidney damage, heart arrhythmia and seizues.) So, if you're looking for a more natural/holisitic way to prep for a colonscopy I highly recommend this method. I also benfitted by having some nice fasting/detox results. I had been to 3 ER's in 4 days with such intense pain I wanted to cry and jump out of my skin. I have had 12 surgeries and 3 of them were front and back to fuse my L-Spine. I had a total hip replacement, right hip and have known since 9-2022 that the Left hip needs the same. I was nervous to get my first colonic, but I had an overall good experience doing an open colonic. The facilities are clean, I was given good instructions on what I needed to do, and I was given adequate privacy. The attendant checked in on me to make sure I was good, but I appreciated the setup didn't make me feel like I was exposed. I was amazed at what came out of me, and at the end I could understand some of the benefits from this experience. Once I was done I was offered a water with trace minerals and some healthy snacks. I was a bit tired after the experience, but some homemade soup and a good nights sleep helped me wake up light and refreshed the next day. I originally went to this facility in the hopes to lose 1" around my waistline before trying on my wedding dress, and this was achieved for me but I realize there is so much more to this experience.
