Disappointed and Frustrated with Grooming Services…read more I brought my miniature schnauzer to PetSmart Austell Georgia, East west Conn. for a full grooming service--wash, haircut, nail grinding, and teeth cleaning--which was supposed to cost $72 ($54 for wash and haircut, $24 for add-ons). Unfortunately, things went wrong from the start. On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, they were unable to complete the haircut due to an open wound they discovered after starting. While accidents can happen, no apology was given, and the staff immediately denied any responsibility. They also didn't explain how the injury happened and waited hours before contacting me. I was still charged $53.10 for the bath and add-ons--despite not receiving the full service I booked. They told me to come back in a few weeks to complete the haircut. On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, I returned and was told the price would be $48.60, even though all that was done was the haircut. No bath was provided this time, yet I was told they "couldn't separate" the wash and haircut--even though they clearly did the first time. I was told I was receiving a 15% discount for the inconvenience, but it made little sense given I was being double charged for the wash and haircut. The haircut alone would've been $22 without the discount--so I still overpaid. I ended up not paying the $48.60 because of the price increase and overall mishandling of the situation. In total, I was charged for services I didn't fully receive, my dog left injured with no accountability, and I was given inconsistent information about pricing. PetSmart needs to improve transparency, communicate better in these situations, and take responsibility when a pet is harmed in their care. I will not be returning.

When Max turned 4 months I decided to take the puppy level 1 class. The course is a 6-week introductory class that focused on socialization, basic behaviors and cues, specifics concerns I had such as potty training, chewing, teething, and more. The trainer was great and taught me positive reinforced techniques that Max got right away. At home we would practice daily for about 10 minutes to reinforce what he learned. Max loved the class and looked forward to going weekly and was very eager to learn. While taking the course we were told that they had puppy play time every Saturday and Sunday at 1pm. I began taking Max weekly for the 30 minute free playtime and he loved it.

Tiny filthy cages, sick animals, and employees who know absolutely nothing (but won't hesitate to give out incorrect advice) is the norm. Not so at Exotic Envy! Stopped in for my 1st visit today and was so pleasantly surprised. They have a unique assortment of animals (not just ball pythons and bearded dragons). Everything is immaculately clean. I mean 100% spotless. All animals were housed appropriately according to their species requirements, as opposed to the typical pet store who acts like substrate/lighting/humidity/UV/etc are one size fits all. All animals had live insects and/or fresh veggies (whichever was appropriate for their species) not those god awful pellet foods that should be banned. Signage on the cage was truthful. Said things like "fragile species- display animal only. Shouldn't be handled." and several monitors and tegus were truthfully labeled "Bites!" Shows you that Exotic Envy is more interested in finding the right home for their animals then in making a quick sale. So many reptile shops will tell you their tegus/monitor/iguanas are "puppy dog tame" and then some unsuspecting person takes it home and loses a finger. Google "iguana bite" if you don't believe me. Exotic Envy was such a great experience. Most definitely the best reptile store in the Atlanta area. Would enthusiastically recommend.
