Nothing special. I was visiting my grandmother in Longview and wanted to treat her to a pedicure. Their cheapest pedicure is $40 and doesn't come with anything but some lotion and a massage. You have to pay $2 for the liner for the bowl which is ridiculous because that should be apart of sanitation laws. And it's $3 for the nail file and buffer. So I guess they weren't going to file our nails had we not paid for it. Let me not forget to mention I also had to file my own toenails myself because they said my toenails were too soft to make them even. For $40 they also only lay one towel across your leg which normal places wrap one around each leg. Ive never had these many issues in Houston. I also requested Vanessa to do my pedi when I made the appointment because of the good reviews about her but when I got there she couldn't do it because another lady was a regular client. Outside of the pedicure, he also kept asking my grandmother if she got pedicures regularly and after she told him yes he kept making comments. This shop is horrible. I brought my family out for a girls pedicures and manicures. This shop wasn't welcoming they refused to see us and I called in advance with a reservation.One of the workers said it would be a long wait but there was only one person in the seat. The salon was dead... that was the first red flag.... My lady had me flip back and forth between the chair to get my nails done and to do my toes, SHE COULD NOT STAY OFF HER PHONE..... it took FOREVER to get nails and feet done just from the mere fact that she would stop whatever she was doing to text on her phone and stand there..... my acrylic nails were very uneven and bumpy and my gel nails chipped two days after having them done. If I could give them no stars, I would. My nails looked horrible. I had to ask them to fix the thick nail polish that was poorly applied. The owner charged entirely too much for the nail spa's shoddy quality work. If you want to pay top dollar for shoddy work, then this is the place for you. I now know why most of their appointments were pedicures. The owner Jay, Jim, or whatever he's currently calling himself and his mail nail technician, thinks by speaking to you in ghetto slang that you'll overlook their poor service and work. The both of them should be embarrassed. I wouldn't advise anyone to go to this nail spa unless you're getting a pedicure from the owner's wife, Vanessa. So, after trying five other salons in this town, I read the Yelp reviews and decided to try out this salon. I walked in and found the salon to be very clean and organized. There were two ladies and one man working. The tech I got was named Peter. I showed him my nails, which were butchered because I had removed my nails a few days prior. He asked if I had ever tried the "dip" and explained they were much better for the nail. I replied that I tried it from another local salon and they came off after a couple of days. I asked him how much the cost was and he gave me a price. I told him, I would give it another try. He proceeded to give me a beautiful set of nails!!! I have to give credit where credit is due. He did an amazing job! Lastly, when he went to ring up the transaction, the charge was 20.00 more than what he originally quoted me. I asked him about it and he said he did not tell me that. I replied that if he had originally told me that amount I would not have a problem with it. However, I will not let that stop me from returning. Great job, Peter. Some people might not the whole get to know you thing where they ask about where you live and what you do to strike a conversation. Nail Studio is the best place in Longview for Pedicures, facial waxing, Manicures, Amazing Nail Concepts, Solar Nails, etc. I have been going here for 1-1/2 years and I have never had any issues here. Decided to go to this nail salon because of the one review. It sounded good. On my first visit, Vanessa took care of me, she is awesome! On my second visit, J did my nails and he was, I felt, in a bad mood, I said a few things to kind of break the ice, but not successful. Plus he jerked my hand and fingers around to show me I was not holding my hands correctly. I tried to relax to show I was not doing it on purpose. On my second visit J again. Not smiling nor talking. He jerked my hands and fingers around again and even made a humph sound as if to be frustrated with me! At that point I almost got up and left but thought I'd better let him finish if I wanted my nails done. After he finished my nails, I had a pedicure done by Vanessa, again she is awesome! But while I was getting my pedicure, a young, blonde headed girl comes in and J begins doing her nails. I was so shocked at his behavior! I thought it was a different person than J sitting there! This guy was laughing and joking around as if to be enjoying his job with this young girl. I couldn't believe it was the same J I had! This place is amazing. The workers are very friendly and inviting. Very clean. All around great and very welcoming. Now, the things they do:manicures, pedicures, French tip, solar, natural, and many others; are absolutely amazing. And they look stunning!
