My family and I have been going to Love for years. It's usually good quality, but certainly not the best - but always great value. A few years ago they went through a rough patch and we had some bad experiences. But I was always willing to give them another shot...until now. Part of the appeal was that the fish was good and the prices were very reasonable - basically "inexpensive" for sushi. I don't know whether it's inflation or transportation or other costs, but they have recently raised their prices pretty significantly. They are above or on par with much nicer/better places in the SCV now...so why would I pay more for lesser quality sushi? Placed an order thru Grubhub. The order was incorrect. The restaurants fault. Grubhub had it right Love sushi sent the wrong thing. Called restaurant they said they could talk, I got them to stop before they hung up. Explained they were extremely rude told me they didn't care to call Grubhub for a refund. Gave that a try cant find a number for them . So stuff happens I get that but in this day and age do we really need more nastiness??? You would think vendors would be greatful for customers. Walked in for a take out order a waitress hands out a take out form to fill. I start filling in the order when a man shouts from behind the sushi bar at me "hey go out and fill the form" ! I was fully masked and am vaccinated . The place was crammed with people eating with no masks , the waitress did not ask me to go out and there is no signs that indicate that . This guy seems to have just made it up. It was night time and cold outside and maybe it would not bother me if he was polite. If this place treats its customers this way , imagine how they treat your food . I see many reviews of stale rotten food on their Yelp page, wish I had read the reviews before. Sushi quality is mediocre at best. Kitchen needs to get their act together. None of our food came out at the same time or even in the proper order. We ordered a mix sashimi plate and the salmon had a large plastic strip, which we returned and re-ordered. The kitchen just took the plastic off and sent back the plate without actually re-doing the order...lazy lazy lazy kitchen. We finally got our appetizer (chicken teriyaki) at the very end of our meal and it was bland just doused in half of cup of soy sauce to add some sort of flavor. The waitress did the best she could under the circumstances I definitely don't blame her but I also will never come back. Upon arriving i went inside to order my food that i now have to WAIT for. And the owner is arguing with me about how i should've been understanding that they have a loud restaurant and they couldn't hear me. um no, they have a wireless phone so someone could've stepped somewhere quiet to take my order....also you don't advertise that you can call in and order and then don't let someone do it. They hung up and then refused to answer when i called back. Unacceptable. i was begging inside that i just wanted to order my food and go home and that since i had to come all the way INTO THE STORE to order i should get something for that INCONVENIENCE. The owner said no and was mad that i was mouthing " are you f**king kidding me" so he told to leave and that he was refusing to serve me. funny thing is .... i ALSO saw another unhappy customer within the same time period of me being there and they threatened to call the cops on BOTH of us???? This place does not serve quality sushi. The salmon is cheap, fatty, farmed salmon with almost no orange color and it is very chewy. I would never order the salmon here again unless (and until) they switch suppliers. It was nasty. No wonder they gave me so much in my sashimi salad. Several pieces were not edible and I had to spit them into a napkin. The albacore was better, but not quality sushi grade in my opinion. Santa Clarita does not have any good sushi bars unless you like all those crappy rolls that are made with cheap ingredients and only taste good to people fond of sugar and mayonnaise. I wonder why so many Koreans think they can make sushi. Find a real Japanese sushi bar and taste the difference and stay away from all the farmed fish. It is really bad for you. read more

The fish in the orders appeared old and wilted, the fried gyoza and tempura were dried as if they had been cooked earlier and placed under a heat lamp and the cooked eel inside the rolls was not fresh. There was less fish in the rolls and the sauces tasted watered down and different. Everything except the miso soup tasted bad. We won't be ordering take out or eating there in the future. DAMMIT!!!! I hate bad service. I used to be a fan of Love Sushi - the rolls were decent and so was the service. Then, they got a little big for their britches and expanded. Since I have a 2 year old I like to eat at off peak times so avoid the rush. We went in around 3p for a quick bite before we went bowling. I noticed the expansion and thought 'good for them, they must be doing well. I like to see local place thrive and do well. There were two other patrons when we walked in and the host wanted to seat us at the table by the door, I asked if we could have a booth in the corner and she gave me serious eye rolling attitude. Sorry, was I inconveniencing you? I asked if they had kids menu or light portion of the teriyaki chicken for my son...she said "no, we have the dinner portion" and gave me the eye roll, again. A simple "no" would be fine, thanks! We ended up ordering a house salad, 911 roll, soup, edamame, lobster roll and a side of rice figuring we'd hit all bases. The salad was watery and sparsely dressed, but what does a kid know. He just looked at me puzzled when I drained the water out of the bowl. As for the 911 roll, it looked like shit and tasted about the same. Can't comment on the lobster roll as we never received it, but were charged for it. When I brought this fact up to the server she looked at me then looked at the table like we mysteriously ate it and hid or ate the plate. She walked away, she didn't offer to make it or apologize.
